Ending Friendship
Summary: Set somewhere after GT. Sort of… Goten and Trunks are in college at 19 and 20 years of age. Pan and Bra are in middle school at 13 and 14. So yeah…The boys are younger than they should be. Goku has returned from his adventure with Shenron and has been wished back to his correct age using the Namekian Dragon Balls. Vegeta has almost completely closed the gap in power between himself and Goku and can transform into SS4 at will.
Warnings: M/M, MPREG
Pairings: Goku/Vegeta, Goten/Trunks
Author's Note: Perspective is kinda weird. The first four chapters are in Goku's perspective and then the rest so far aren't, so just letting everyone know I'm not consistent with perspective, but it's not to the point where you don't know what's going on. Also, this fic is not beta'd. I like to do my own proofreading and spellchecking and I like to think I do a pretty good job of it, but no one's perfect. If there are errors please let me know.
On with the fic. Enjoy.

Shattered Night: Chapter 1- Ending Friendship
That night… The night I had told her, that’s when everything fell apart. It was the ending of summer, early fall. The days were warm and the nights were getting progressively cooler, the leaves having yet to change color.
Before then, I was always restless trying to keep it a secret, and it was getting harder and harder with each passing day not to tell someone; anyone, but I was…managing. I spent increasingly more time around them up until it happened. I came by frequently, even though it felt like my heart was being squeezed in a vice whenever I saw them together.
Then, on that night…she approached me. I was just hanging out on one of the many balconies in her home, staring listlessly into the starry space of night when I suddenly noticed her beside me.
“Goku?” She spoke so softly I was surprised the breeze didn’t drown out her voice. “Are you okay?”
The very question unsettled me. “Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” I lied; a halfhearted smile formed on my lips as I kept feeling small pinpricks of nervousness within me.
Her small and gentle hand left the banister, coming down onto mine. “You’re my oldest friend, Goku. I know when something is up. Do you want to talk to me about it?”
I looked at her from the corner of my eye. My oldest friend… My eyes turned sorrowful as I turned to fully look upon her. Her beautifully creamy and smooth skin, full red pouting lips, her slender yet shapely body clad in a form fitting red dress; it’s been so long, and yet, she still looked positively radiant. She was always so kind to me; hell I was practically swimming in her hospitality. She had always told me to be honest with her and that would be enough, but I couldn’t tell her…could I? No, I couldn’t do that. It would only mess things up. “I’m sorry, but no.”
She looked dissatisfied with the absolution of my reply, but hope shined in her eyes. “You know you can tell me anything, don’t you?”
“Not this, I can’t.” I pulled my hand out from under hers and turned my eyes away, hoping she wouldn’t ask me again, hoping she would just leave it alone.
She huffed to herself. “You’ve been coming by an awful lot lately. I guess there really isn’t a whole lot for you to do since the world doesn’t need any saving at the moment, Chichi’s been gone for over two years now, and your kids are out on their own. You must be quite lonely.”
My body tensed up as she fished around for the source. I knew she wouldn’t let it be. She’s one of the two most stubborn people I know, after all.
She smiled almost sinisterly. “You know, Goku…it’s only natural after so long…for you to develop feelings for someone else.” My eyes became wide and filled with panic as she touched a nerve with her words. “That is it, isn’t it?” she continued. “You’ve fallen in love with someone? …someone close to you?”
A gasp escaped me before I could stop it. This wasn’t going to end well. Every fiber of my being was screaming for me to just take off. High tail it home, but she’d just come after me. If not tonight, then she’d come tomorrow or the next day, but she’d definitely come, and keep coming; pressing me until she got the answers she was seeking. I gave my options a once over; leave now and deal with this later or I could stay and face whatever will come.
Her hand grasped my shoulder this time, turning me to face her, burning her gaze into my face. “Who is it, Goku?”
I tried to shrug her hand off, but it remained firm in its grip. “Bulma, I can’t. It will ruin everything between us. Please try to understand and just let it go,” I pleaded.
She smiled knowingly. “It’s alright. I already knew. I mean, why else would you come to visit so often?” She drew closer, “and as soon as you confess, you won’t have to worry about ruining our friendship, because we can be so much more.” With that she swung her other arm behind my neck, pulling me down to her lips.
I pushed her away before our lips could meet. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?” I was completely flustered and shocked.
Her face contorted with anger and annoyance. “What did it look like I was doing?”
“No,” I said shaking my head frantically and stepping back. “You’ve got the wrong idea.”
“Look, I know we’ve been friends for a long time and all, but moving forward won’t wreck our friendship.”
“No! You don’t understand-”
“What. What don’t I understand, Goku?” she cut in.
“Ugh!” I growled out in frustration. “I said it would ruin our friendship, because I’m in love with Vegeta!” I clasped a hand over my mouth as his name fell from my lips. This had to be the worst-case scenario in the lot. If I had known that Bulma cared for me more than in a friendship way…but how could I have possibly known? She seemed happy with all that she had and she never acted any differently towards me since I was a kid.
She slumped to her knees, her expression remaining one of shock. “That…can’t be,” she whispered almost inaudibly. “No…”
“Bulma…I-”
“No!” she snapped angrily. Tears began streaming down her face and her body shook with sobs she tried to repress. “It’s…not fair… Why him!?” she demanded. “I’ve known you… longer than anyone! It should have been me!” Her voice cracked as she stammered, making hiccup noises when she forced her lungs to inhale through her wailing.
I kneeled down beside her and rubbed her back for a second before she knocked my hand away. “Don’t touch me,” she growled, ceasing her lamentations. “Don’t you dare touch me! If you think you can just come to my house and steal MY husband from me, then you’ve got another thing coming!” Her last word was topped off with a sharp slap in my face. “Get OUT!”
Well that was it. I’d officially ruined my oldest friendship and she’d probably never let Vegeta come near me ever again. I turned as my eyes welled up with tears at the thoughts running through my mind and took flight at full speed. I never wanted any of this to happen.
Until next chapter…
