Prologue: Wufei’s secret
Wufei gazed at the pictures wanting to etch that vision in his mind. Heero wasn’t his, never would be. The pictures all told him so. All those photos of Heero smiling shyly into the camera, he wasn’t looking at it but at the person holding the camera. The sweetly beautiful smile was reserved for the one who held his heart.
//Flashback//
Wufei sat on the beach pretending to read the book in his hands. When he was actually watching the object of his fantasies. –Heero…- Wufei thought somewhat somberly, watching as his love smiled for someone else.
-Itai…-(1) he thought. –It really hurts.- But it was more of a bittersweet pain. He loved Heero so he wants him to be happy. It’s just hard to watch the person you love be happy with someone else.
Wufei watched as Heero stood from his seat in the sand to join the games. He watched as Heero paused unsure of his welcome into the fun and festivities. He watched as Duo spotted Heero, standing there looking so heartbreakingly unsure of his place, invited him in with a wave and a smile. He still watched as Heero’s face light up with happiness. He watched as Heero and Duo held hands and gazed deeply into each other’s eyes. He watched until he couldn’t anymore when the bitter tears filled his eyes and clouded his vision. He then looked away silently crying for what never was and wouldn’t be.
//End Flashback//
Wufei had a secret. A secret so dishonorable and horrible that no one would ever know. A secret of which he was both miserable and in discontent. That secret is that he loves his best friend’s boyfriend.
Wufei has a secret… And that secret is he’s in love with Heero Yuy.
