The Ride

Chapter 13

 
 
Relena paced the room back and forth. Her hand went to her gun and then took it off it. Heero watched her with narrow eyes.
“He’s coming here?” She mumbled to her self as she paced .
“Relena.” Heero growled.
She turned and looked at him.
“Put the gun away. You are suppose to be my secretary, remember? Not some member of an elite group bent on capturing all the wrong - doers in the world.”
“Shit.” she said , under her breath. “Where should I put it?”
“How about in your purse. It will be close at hand if you need it. Where is your lap top?”
She pointed to the laptop on the table.
“Open it and pretend to write a letter.”
“A letter? A letter. Ah, I get it.”
He nodded as she went to the small table and opened her lap top. He was stunned when she went into her secretary mode. She sat down and began to type.
Heero’s cell phone rang again and he fumbled for it.
“Yuy.”
Relena looked up at him and listened . Her fingers were poised over the keyboard, not ng. ng. She watched Heero’s face as he said his one syllable words after each pause. She could seethe minute movements as the person on the other end talked. After a couple of minutes he hung up.
“He’s here.”
Relena gasped then got her composure back. She jumped tho, as someone rapped on the door. She looked at Heero who nodded for her to get it. She stood and went to the door, absently reaching for her gun.
Heero “hn’d” so she would remember what role she was now playing and get her composure .
She flung open the door. “Mr. Schibecker! What a surprise!!”
He glared at her as she let him in the room. He bushed past her, then stopped. “Well, now you are a cutie. How would you like to be my date tonight?”
Heero jumped to his feet and hissed at the man. “She is mine!”
Schibecker turned to him, “What?”
“She’s my secretary and I need her.”
He laughed and turned back to Relena grasping her hands , “Perhaps another time , my dear.”
When he let go of her hands she growled, softly “Over your dead body.”
He turned to look at her, grinning lecherously. “Did you say something?”
She giggled , “Nothing at all, sir.”
After he turned back to Heero she caught Heero’s eye and growled. She walked to the table and sat in front of the computer and pretended to write a letter.
Heero stood and faced the older man as he got close.
“Well, where is my daughter?”
Heero shrugged. “We don’t know, Sir.”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW?”
Heero shrugged, “We don’t know for sure where she is.. She is with a trucker named Duo Maxwell.”
“Did you look him up on the net?”
Heero nodded ,”Yes, He’s clean. “
“Yes,” The older name sighed , “but did you look him up on the internet to find where he worked?”
“Yes.”
“AND?” The man asked impatiently.
“It ’s a trucking company called Une’s Transport.”
“Fine we will go there tomorrow. I’ve got a room and I’m getting some sleep. I suggest you do too.”
He glanced over at Relena and went out the door.
Relena shivered at the cold glance her gave her. After the door closed , and the room became calm, “Man, that man gives me the creeps.”
Heero said nothing.

“So, Hilde, off to Vegas , or do we set up this meeting? “
“I think we should go to Vegas, today. Now. I want to marry you. And …….”
“And what?”
“If we do it before we confront my father then he will have to accept that ……”
“Hilde, you father is not going to accept me . I’m way out of your class. “
She crawled across the seat and kissed him. “Yeah, Oh well screw daddy. I don’t give a shit about all his money. I just want you.” She said as she leaned up against him, so she could whisper in his ear. “If we are married, and since we have already consummated , he can’t say a word.”
Duo said no more as he drove to his next destination to get the load he needed to pick up.
He backed the truck up and looked at Hilde. “Um, babe, would you climb in the back? I’m not suppose to have passengers ok? At least ones they don‘t know about .”
She nodded, understanding his request.
As she climbed into the sleeper , Duo climbed out of the truck. Hilde laid in the sleeper for what seemed a long time before she relaxed and fell asleep.
After a little bit, Duo climbed back in, with a clipboard with papers on it. He tossed it on the seat ,and looked in to the sleeper at Hilde . He smiled slightly as he saw her sleeping. He wanted nothing more than to climb in next to her and make love to her , but now was not the time. He sighed as he turned around and began the process of pulling the truck away from the dock. She would be surprised when they got to their destination. It was just where they wanted to go.

Hilde opened her eyes and stretched. The truck was stopped. She frowned, were they still at the warehouse? She stuck her head out of the sleeper. The cab was quiet and Duo was not inside. She started to slip out of the sleeper , then she remembered his words about passengers. She closed the curtain and decided to wait only a few more minutes before going out to look for him. As she laid there in the darkness , she tried to tune in all the odd sounds she heard. She sat up as she heard the truck door open.
“Hilde?” Came a soft whisper.
She pulled back the curtain to see Duo leaning in.
“You still want to get married?”
She nodded.
“Come on,” He said, as he waved at her to follow him.
She quickly scrambled out of the cab behind him. “Where are we?” She asked curiously.
“We, My darling , are in Los Vegas!” He said as he pulled her around the corner to all the sights and sounds that was Vegas.
“OH!” Came her startled and awed reply.
“I found a place up by Caesar’s Palace that sells the licenses and is open all night.” He pulled her down the street, through the crowd. “I got us a room at the fanciest place here. You know the one with the singing fountains.”
“Oh, How romantic. You got us a room, but why?” She asked , with a tone of confusion.
She watched his face as he blushed slightly. “I wanted this night to be special.” He pulled her close to him. “It’s not like your going to be sleeping much , tonight anyway.”
Hilde’s face turned beat red as she thought about what he was implying. Then she smiled. “You know the same goes for you…”
He let go of her, and grasped her hand, “Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go do this.”
They hurried to the small chapel and went in.
A woman greeted them at the door. She smiled as she lead them to a small table to fill out a bit of paper work that Duo hadn’t fill out before. They signed the certificates and then stepped in front of the minister. He smiled at them and asked Duo if he had a ring.
Duo fumbled in his pocket and pulled out a small box. The minister nodded, and then asked if they were ready.
When they both nodded and he proceeded with the short and sweet ceremony. When he asked Duo again about the ring Duo pulled it out with a trembling hand, while his other opened it. It was small and delicate. Just a simple silver band. Hilde’s face brightened as Duo slipped it on her finger. After a few more words he pronounced them husband and wife , and he could kiss the bride.
And kiss the bride he did.
They exited the small chapel and took a stroll down the side walk, their arms around each other. When they got to the hotel , they stood out side and watched the fountains dance to the music that played. Hilde smiled as they stood arm in arm and thought it was all so romantic.**
After a few minutes , Duo pulled Hilde into the Hotel. He pulled out the key to their room and lead her up the stairs to it.
He unlocked the door and Quickly grabbed her, pulling her into his arms. Hilde squawked in surprise as he carried ov over threshold and to the large king size bed. He dropped her on the satin-like comforter, then dropped down beside her. His mouth found hers and they began to kiss in earnest. Soon all the clothing they were wearing was on the floor. Hilde shivered as Duo’s tongue and hands played over her skin. Each little touch made her body want more .
She moaned as his fingers and mouth found her breasts. His mouth latched onto one , teasing the nipple with his tongue while his hand found the other , gently kneading it while brushing the nipple. The ride to Une’s Transport was short, but very uncomfortable for both Relena and Heero. Schibecker kept trying to put his hands where they didn’t belong. Relena politely but firmly removed them each time.

When they arrived , Une refused to speak to them, even after several threats to cause her and her company bodily harm. She flatly refused to be bullied by Schibecker and his money. She had said if he wanted to find Duo he had to do it on his own. He had no warrant so she didn’t have to cooperate with him.

Schibecker fumed as they sat in the parking lot. He stomped back and forth beside the car, cursing Une as he paced.
Just as he was ready to go back to the building and confront her once more , his cell phone rang.
“Schibecker.” There was a pause. “Hilde?? Where the hell are you?”
