Grr…….. I have to rewrite this …. Stupid disk corrupted on me and I couldn’t open it at all ! I had to go and reload all the chapters I had on it too.. Man, I hate it when it happens .. Then I have start all over….. Well anyway.. Here is the next chapter to outlaw.. I hope I can remember all I had written before the disk corrupted and wouldn’t read…….
Any way disclaimers: you know they are not mine…… and warnings… maybe some nasty language and some violence….. Hilde shivered as they rode on into the night. The sun was just starting to redden the sky as she leaned into Duo. She sighed. Her fingers were so cold they were numb and she could feel a tightness in her chest. She felt Duo’s warm breath on her neck as he leaned down to whisper in her ear. She could feel his warm skin on her cheek. She shivered once again as he whispered “Hilde, are you feeling ok?”
She nodded slightly as another shiver shook her body. She felt Duo’s body tighten as he straightened up.
“HEY, LADY!!” He said, loudly.
Middi turned to glare at him. “What do you want?”
He looked at her then at their bound hands. ”Can we get these ropes cut? Come on, my fingers are numb and I know hers are. And can we have a blanket? She’s sick. “
Middi growled at him, “How do you know she’s sick?”
He glared at her. “I know ok! Come on, have a heart or are you as cold as that asshole up there?”
She blinked at his words and then rode closer. She pulled out a small knife and looked at him. “Are you going to try to run away?”
He looked at her and shook his head. “And where would we go? I have a sick woman on my hands and we are out in the middle on nowhere. We have no supplies or blankets. I’m a lot of things but I don’t have a death wish and I’m not stupid.”
She nodded and slashed the ropes. She kly kly put the knife away and reach around to untie her bedroll. She shook it free and tossed it to him. He caught it , but barely, using Hilde’s body to trap it. She watched as he shook it open and draped it over the woman in front of him. As he draped her with it, he pulled her closer to him, bringing her closer into his body heat. He took the other one and placed it over her front and clasped his arms around her. Holding both blankets around her.
Middi was touched by the tenderness he had shown as he cared for the woman in his arms. She sighed and continued to ride beside them.
Duo looked over at the hard looking blonde. “how much longer?” He asked her, looking down at the woman in his arms.
Middi looked over at him. “You know the way. “
“I know a way but I’m confused right now. I don’t seem to recognize any of the land marks.” He replied softly.
She nodded. “ A few more hours.”
He looked over at her once more . “Can we stop? At least to get something warm in her?”
Middi shrugged and moved away from them.
Duo watched her as mo moved away and went to talk to Trant. He watched as she spoke to him and he went off into a tirade, his words reaching his ears as he shouted at Middi.
Duo’s eyes narrowed as he thought of ways to kill the sadistic man in front of them .
Hilde had stopped shivering as hard as she was before and he could feel her warming under the blankets. She was still cold but not as desperately cold as before. He had shifted her to sit side saddle so he could bring her closer to him. I f and when they stopped he would warm her up the only way h e knew how to.

Middi looked at the couple she was following. They beenbeen riding about 12 hours and had another day to go. She growled and rode around them to ride by trant.
She asked loudly. “We are going to stop soon, aren’t we? My butt’s sore and I want some coffee!” She glanced back at the two behind her. “I bet they are hungry and want coffee, too.”
Trant looked back at the two behind them, and sighed. He had wanted to make it a straight shot but he knew Middi wouldn’t allow it. He nodded. “Yeah, if we have to. “
She kicked her foot from her stirrup and kicked him , hard, in the leg. “There is NO “have to. WE ARE.”
“Ow! Ok! OK! There’s a cabin up here , in about 5 miles that we can bunk in for a few hours.” He yawned. “I could use some coffee ,too.”

Relena walked around the sleeping bodies and made her way to the curtain of the large window in Hilde’s front room. She jerked it open and then moved back among the bodies. Some of them groaned in protest of the brightening room. She had been up for a couple of hours and the fires had been stoked and coffee was on. She had heard Heero get up and she then gotten up too. She knew he had gone out to take of the horses. She looked around at the rest of the people in the room.
She smiled and said, “Come on, people. We have a lot of hard miles to go today if we plan to catch up with the kidnappers. I have coffee and some bread over on the table for you guys. I put out some of Hilde’s dried meat. It’s the best we can do for now.”
Everyone sat up and began to move around.
WuFei looked at the table and asked, “ Where are the statues?”
Relena looked over at him. “Heero has them.”
He rose and went to the table . “Is there no tea?”
Relena smiled and nodded , pointed to another pot on the stove. “Yes, I brewed some up for you and Sally.”
He nodded his thanks and poured some .
When Heero urneurned to the house, everyone was ready to began the journey . Zechs came to stand by him.
“So what is your plan?”
Heero looked at him and then the rest. “First we have assess the condition of the prisoners and we have to wait a bit longer.”
“Wait?” Came his startled reply.
“Yes. We can not take Treize on alone. You of all people should know that.”
“Yes, but who is coming?”
Heero said nothing. The answer was only a couple of minutes coming. There was a sharp rap on the door, then it opened. The chief stood in the doorway, when several of his braves waiting in the yard.
“We are ready, Heero Yuy.”
“Hn.”

Heero searched the house once more checking to see if Hilde had left any clue to w the they had been taken. He frowned at a small mark on the bedroom floor. It looked like blood, and in the blood was a small traced letter. It was a f. He looked at the letter a bit more pondering what it meant. He stood then turned away. As he checked the small stove, the grid in the front made him stop. Fortress! That’s where they were going to Treize’s fortress. It was a least a day and half ride form here in ideaditiditions, but not in the snow.
He walked rough the living room noting the flames in the fireplace had burned down to embers that glowed hotly. They soon would be out.

He pulled the door shut behind him as he stepped on the porch. He was greeted by expectant faces and the sounds of the saddles creaking. The horses snorted and stomped their feet in anticipation of the ride ahead. No one said a word as he stepped down and mounted his own horse.
“Where are we hd?” d?” Relena asked as he moved beside her.
He looked around the small crowd of people. “We will follow the obvious trail they left but if we happen to lose it we are going to Treize’s fortress.” He turned to Zechs. “You know where that is , correct?”
Zechs nodded.
“Good. We know it is heavily armed and I anticipate a rd frd fight…. Unless, you have information that can help us, Zechs.”
Zechs nodded. “I believe I do have information, that could very well take them by surprise.”
“Good, let’s go.”

I know short chapter but you know what I had a hard time staying motivated to finish this chapter… I had several bursts of ideas for new fics.. Which I will get to in a little bit……
