A/N: Another all dialogue fic, following the last one.

“You didn’t have to punch me.”
“You were going to call me a damsel. Yes, I did. And you can stop whining. I didn’t hit you that hard, and I did it with my left arm.”
“It will bruise.”
“On your arm, Roy. Just be glad I didn’t do it to your pretty face. Now sit down. I want my pillow back.”
“You were laying on me.”
“Exactly. My pillow. On the couch, now.”
“You really are infuriating, you know that, Ed?”
“But you love me.”
“That I do. All right. I’m on the couch.”
“Good.”
“Careful with your boney elbow.”
“Would you rather the metal one?”
“Point taken.”
“So, tell me, were you always a pervert?”
“Beg pardon? I’m refraining from answering that until I get more of an explanation.”
“You said you liked me, before… before Riza. I’d have been fifteen then, if that.”
“Hindsight, Ed. It’s 20/20.”
“Or in your case, 20.”
“An eye joke? Really?”
“You make comments about my cold feet in bed often enough. I’m not allowed to joke about the eye when you leave yourself open like that?”
“You are a brat.”
“And you’re a bastard, who apparently lusted after a teenager.”
“It wasn’t lusting, Ed. Looking back on things, I more or less realized why I bickered with you all the time.”
“Because you’re a bastard.”
“Because I didn’t know how to deal with it.”
“And if I’d have been older?”
“I don’t know. The court marshal was still hanging over my head. Why do you think I was known as a ladies man and not someone who liked both?”
“You liked boobs?”
“Then explain you.”
“I had them when we started dating. Thankfully, they’re all gone.”
“Yes they are. But they’re not the reason. I had to keep up appearances that I preferred women, and would never look at a man very hard, and certainly not hard enough to risk my job over it. It backed up my defense against Archer.”
“It would make sense.”
“Exactly.”
“Well, still, I’m glad you were with Riza first. She’d have risked her life regardless of whether you were, and we wouldn’t have the twins.”
“No, we wouldn’t.”
“We might not even be together.”
“Possibly not.”
“So, why were you so confused about your feelings about me? I mean, I was pretty clear about mine, jacking off to the voice in the compartment next door on the train because it sounded like you. But you could barely acknowledge we were friends.”
“You know, your language hasn’t improved with age.”
“And you’re surprised?”
“No, not really.”
“Now, answer.”
“You were still a teenager. Sixteen. I was mourning. You and I had never had a friendly relationship. And then I was suddenly having to comfort you when you were crying and feeling my children inside of you. It was a little surreal. I think I’m allowed.”
“I guess so, but still, you thought about me like, well, this back then.”
“Well, I never thought we’d have peaceful moments like this, but the forming bruise on my arm was pretty much how I envisioned a relationship between us, once I allowed myself to try imagining it sometime after our first kiss.”
“You thought I’d beat up on you?”
“That or I’d set fire to you. But you can’t really trust my imagination. It still had you hormonal and obnoxious.”
“Bite me, Bastard.”
“Tell me where.”
“See? Pervert.”
“You made me that way, Shrimp.”
“Stop moving, or I’m going to have to beat my pillow into submission.”
