Chapter 17
The punishment for 1321184518
Konnichiwa mina-san! Dumdumdumduuum… I really aught it unbelievable that I made it so far! And I realized every chapter has been little bits and pieces which make no sense.. at all! XD Buuut, from now on I will try to put pieces together to make to plot clear. It’ll still take a few chapters for it to totally be more understandable, but, I’m getting there now. Also, its even hard for me to recall all the things in the past and re-tell them again to fit in the story-line.. And there are so many! But I can do it, I know I can u_u So you might have noticed that this story is not about all the boy on boy smut XD BUT, there will be plenty of action. I promise on my Victoria Frances poster! >.> But you know what they say, being patient and waiting longer is better for the anticipation and of course you’ll get a great *censoredcensoredcensored*!
Enjoy!
Chapter 17
After the meeting they all left the room, Rei in a hurry and found the exit first of all. Everyone except Tala, who had to stay and have a chat with Ronin, who looked really serious about something. Rei wasn’t really bothered to ask as other things were on his mind… rooming with Kai Hiwatari for example. This piece of new information was not something the raven hair was waiting for. He didn’t know what to do.. so he did what seemed best to him at that moment…
“WHAT?! You’re rooming with Hiwatari?!” Raul and Miguel blurted in union. The only logic thing for Rei to do, go to his friends for mental support. Now he sat in Raul’s room on the floor his back against the couch. In frond of him stood a lower table made out of lighter pine wood with three empty glasses resting on it. On the other end of the table stood another small couch with Miguel on it laying lazy on his back, almost with migraines. And Raul sat next to Rei on the floor in a static frenzy.
“Seriously, how screwed in the ass can you get?” Miguel stated sarcastically from the other couch. Rei gave a desperate breath and let his head hang down. Raul laughed nervously and patted the younger neko on his back.
“It isn’t ‘that’ bad, you can always report it if he does something you don’t like.” Raul said trying to cheer his friend up a bit. Rei looked up with the annoyed ‘are-you-serious’ look.
“If I report it I have to assume he already did something bad, the only question is, do I live to tell the tale?… AWW I’M SO SCREEWED!” Rei said bursting out and jamming his head onto the wooden table in frond of him, his hair spread around his face like a curtain of midnight silk. The boy could hear the redhead next to him stand up and walk away, to his hearing, the kitchen. A few moments later he came back and sat down again with a small thud. Rei was so much turned into himself with his own self pity that he barely heard a glass get filled with liquid.
“Here.” He heard Raul say. Rei looked up through a gap of his hairy ‘curtain’ and saw the Spanish boy extend a glass filled with a ginger colored substance. Rei sat up again and took the glass. There wasn’t much in it Rei noticed as he brought the glass to his lips. Even before he tasted it the strong smell of alcohol filled his nose and burned his nostrils. He wasn’t quite sure if he even wanted to have something that strong in his mouth, not to speak how it would taste like. Agh what the heck. He opened his mouth and let the alcohol enter his awaiting mouth, it was strong indeed, really strong. It tingled his tongue in an alarming way as a few drops slid down his throat. It burned a way down his gullet and disappeared inside his body. He felt warm though, slightly like he had just taken a warm shower. His eyes slowly moved back to Raul.
“Give me some more of that stuff, it helps.” He said with a small smirk as Raul smiled nervously and poured him a little more, even less than last time.
“Of course its good, that’s fine whisky you’re drinking there.” Miguel stated from his couch as he had turned to his side to face the two youths. Raul filled two other glasses with a little amount of the liquor and shoved one glass over to Miguel's side of the table. He stopped it with his extended hand and brought it to his mouth. Raul did the same and in the end they all let out a sigh of bliss. The fuzzy side of alcohol.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Tala let his head fall down in his hands as his elbows rested on his kneecaps. He still sat in the performance hall with Ronin, just letting the teacher talk. He had a tremendous headache and wanted to go. But of course, he couldn’t tell his teacher that. Though, Ronin already knew. Ronin seemed to know everything sometimes, and that was pretty scary...
"I know that you're having a hard time Tala. Especially without, him here. But you must not lose yourself in the things you do. You know he wouldn't want that... And even though he got caught for handling drugs, and used it himself, it doesn't mean you should go on. If he had any other choice, which I do know, he would have done it differently. Don't go down that same road as him Tala... Don't waste your life like he did." The redhead had his hands clutched in his red bangs of hair. Pulling, gripping, squeezing his eyes shut and jamming his jaws together from preventing himself to scream. Tala didn't want to hear it, not now... He already knew all these things Ronin told him, the teacher told him before. But Tala wouldn't listen.
It was true, Tala was a user...
He regretted it everyday, he regretted the first time he ever tasted it. He regretted falling so easily for the drug, being a slave to its addicting effects. But what he regretted more, was that he liked it... he couldn't stop. The drugs gave him a whole new surreal world, there were he could forget his emotional pain. Even if it was only for a moment. Giving him a few moments of serenity, but leaving him torn and broken. Realizing he had once again given in to something that was not real. Though, he kept telling himself the feeling, was real. He felt weak. His muscles were hurting. Like superheating metal, and then cooling it with ice. It'll burst. His head hurt like he had an extra large hangover, and all sounds hurt his ears.
The days of loneliness are killing, once they start to crawl by. Seeing everyone around you, being so happy, having someone... while you can't reach your own person, that you love so much. Yes, Tala had a special someone, that had robbed him brutally from his heart. A lover, who he wanted to waste every day with. One he loved, and that person loved him. Until they were pulled apart, and Tala could only see him on a small base. Maybe once a month, if he was lucky. Also, he was having financial problems, mixed with a great push of blackmailing and conspiracies. He was forced to do things that he didn't want, he was forced to keep it secret, and he was forced to do it alone...
"Can I go... pleas? I'm not feeling well, and... I want to be alone for a moment." Tala said softly after he heard the man out for almost an hour. Though, Ronin did not agree to the younger man's words. The brunette chook his head and stared down at the seemingly broken man.
"I don't think its good for you to be alone now... Why not go and see Kai or something? Maybe its easier to talk to him than to me." Tala nodded and stood up slowly, keeping his eyes to the floor and his posture small as if he didn't want people to see him. Ronin really felt sorry for him. He never deserved such a thing. Tala slowly started to walk away, sometimes holding a hand against a chair to keep his balance. But before he was gone to far..
"Its just not fair... Why can't I be with him... He didn't do anything that he... I should be in there, not him." Ronin stared at his student's back with saddened eyes. There was so much pain in Tala's voice. He could see the redhead's fist tremble. Was he crying?
"Its not your fault Tala... it isn't." Ronin said trying to at least, little comfort the boy. But in failed attempt.
"Not my fault?! Its all my fault! What do YOU know about it?! Nothing! Leave me alone 'teacher' and don't call me for these unnecessary chitchats ever again!" Tala spit back with a venomous voice and left the room, slamming the door shut behind him with an huge echo. Ronin sighed and stroke his temples, bringing his hand to comb his own hair back in frustration.
'I know more about it than you know.. and no, its not your fault. One day, that will be clear to you. I just hope you can hold on.. till that day comes.' Ronin thought as his hands were put on his hips and his head fell back to stare at the ceiling. Staring at the high wall as the echo faded away.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Tala felt so much anger, so much sadness. He was rational and he wanted only one thing. He wanted to see and hear his lover. Even if it was only one glance, it would be enough. The redhead had moved his weakened body to the garage, there he unlocked the cardkey door and went inside. Holding himself up against the wall as he felt that he could collapse any minute now. His breathing was heavier, and his legs felt as they were about to give in.
"I need to reach the..." It became black before Tala's eyes as he fell to the ground. Before making impact, he was caught. The redhead never fully lost consciousness as the color returned to his eyes. Leaving him dizzy in the arms of his rescuer. Revealing dual grey tone hair, and strong cheekbones. A white
"Hiwatari?" Tala's ice blue orbs stared into Kai's crimson red eyes. "What are you doing here?" Tala uttered as he tried to stand up, but found he could barely move. Kai stood up and pulled his friend up with him. Putting an arm around his waist to keep him correctly on his feet. Tala stared at him sideways with a suspicious glint.
"Let me go, I need to do this alone." Tala said trying to get away from the support he was given. Though, Kai had other plans.
"Shut up, I'm driving." Kai said harshly pulling him along to a yet black car.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Kai had been driving for almost an hour now, and still there wasn't one word said at all. The dual hair knew were Tala wanted to go. Where else would his friend want to be in the state as he was in now? The redhead sat next to him in the passengers seat. Wearing Kai's coat over his shivering shoulders and the heater turned up max.
Last night Tala had been using again. It left him weak and his body temperature low, his defenses down. Every time he saw that Boris, the pain shot back to awareness. Each time he saw that vile smirk he could only think of his long he still had to miss his treasured lover. How that cruel man has been using him and the people he knew, who he silently cared for. Seeing how they had to endure that same pain. But at least they had each other. Tala had lost his other in freedom. But not in captivity... not yet.
Finally Kai took a right and drove onto a short road leading to a high metal fence with razor wire on the top. The fence had only one opening, it was a midsized double door for cars to leave and enter. Two metal security booths stood on each side of the fence door both holding two men dressed in dark officer suits, staring intensely behind their dark sunglasses at the up coming car. The car stopped next to the metal booth and one man stepped out of it, walking over to Kai's window side. The dual hair knew the drill and lowered his window to the half, his vision turning to the security officer.
"Hello there, what brings two young handsome guys as yourselves to the Supermax?" The man said with a hint of slyness. But the two younger man in the vehicle were not the type to make a fuzz out of anything that fast.
"Visit a friend." Kai said monotonously. As he tapped his finger a few times on the steering weal in impatience. The officer cocked an eyebrow up from behind his sunglasses.
"Do you have a-" The man began but the dual hair already shoved a piece of paper in the other man's face. The older man growled and took a look at the letter.
Supermax. Some other know it as 'Alcatraz of the Rockies'. A super secured prison facility for convicted terrorists of the highest punishments around. Once in there, all your chances of ever leaving not in a body bag, were slim. Child molesters, national terrorists, bombers, rapists, gang members, leaders and of course… murderers. Mass murderers, serial killers and hired assassins. Dangerous convicts were placed between these concrete walls. Locked away from society, forbidden to have contact with the outside world. No phone calls were allowed and inmates were hardly ever allowed to go anywhere outside their cells. Not even visitors were allowed, unless for high powers to step in…
The security guard scanned his eyes over the filled paper, his pupils resting on the hand drawn signature at the bottom; Director V. Hiwatari.
“One moment pleas.” The man said giving Kai and Tala both a thoughtful glance. He took the paper back to his booth and picked up a phone. Dialing a number and waiting for someone to pick up. When someone did, the guard’s lips started to move and his glance sometimes moved towards the letter. This was a slight moment to turn to Tala. Kai turned his head to his friend next to him and out of nowhere felt his forehead. It was damp of cold sweat and his kin was under temperature. The dual hair narrowed his eyes slightly, Tala was really getting sick.
“Maybe we should go back, you’re getting sick.” Tala moved his head in a ‘no’ as he smiled slightly at his feet.
“No, I really want to go. I don’t care. So stop asking about it, I’m not going back before I’ve seen him.” Tala said calmly as he pulled Kai’s coat tighter against his body. Kai just looked away again as the two students waited for the guard to get back. After a few minutes he did and reappeared next to Kai’s window side.
“I checked it, and even how unbelievable it may seem, its real. So you may enter. When you-“
“We already know how it works. This is not our first time here, you know. So open the gate already.” Kai said losing his patience. The guard glared at the man through his glasses and gripped his fist around the paper. He dropped the wrinkled letter inside the car and raised his hand for his collogue to push the button and open the gate.
“Have a pleasant stay in the Supermax, gentleman.” The man said with a smirk as he backed off from the car when it started to drive on. Through the metal fence as it closed again behind them. In frond of them was now an enormous massive concrete wall of several story’s high. But before they could go on, Kai had to park the car and they had to walk on from here. He drove on, until the car stopped at the side of the wall, behind another car, and stopped the engine. He pulled the keys out and opened the door. Tala found his own strength in the thought of seeing his loved one in a few moments, and stepped out of the vehicle. Kai walked around the car and walked next to the redhead to support him if it was needed at any time. Its true that both were cold hearted bastards, but that doesn't mean they don't have a heart at all. When they reached a thick steel door, Kai pushed the button of a speaker. Tala looked up and saw a surveillance camera move and sharpen the lens on them. They didn't have to say anything because first security already let them through. The door opened slowly revealing four guards in the same outfits as of the ones they saw earlier, two of them holding shepherd dogs who were growling intensely within their throats. Kai and Tala walked on with cool faces and both walked over to the side of the wall as the steel door closed, and locked again.
"If you have, bags, cell phones, music players, metal objects such as knifes, guns or bullets. Belts, earrings, necklaces, rings, wristbands, hair pieces, watches, pens, paper, lose change, keys, and or glasses, pleas remove them now and deposit them in this box. Which we will place in a volt and be returned to you as you leave. If we find any of the previous items in your possession whilst your stay, you will be removed and face a fine." Said one of the guard, a female one this time. She extended a box and looked at the two males in anticipation. They had already began to remove the objects before she began her speech, they already knew.
Tala threw in his belt, cell phone, Ipod, the earring in his right earlobe, a necklace, his wallet for it contained lose change, a set of keys and a fine looking pocketknife. Kai shot him a look when he saw the knife disappear inside the box.
"What? You never know." Was the only thing the redhead said as he found a pen and some small papers in Kai's coat and deposed them in the box too. Kai just rolled his eyes and dropped his own business inside the box. A leather belt, cell phone, three earrings from his right ear, two wristbands, his wallet and also a set of key's. And after digging inside his pants pockets, some lose change to add with that. Now Tala shot him, a look.
"What? No guns?" He said with a suppressed smirk and pulled the coat shut again to try and keep warm against the outside air. Kai smirked vilely and closed his eyes.
"I left them at home." He said huskily as the female officer sighed and pointed for the two other man who were holding the shepherd dogs to come over.
"Spread your arms and legs pleas, and hold still until I tell you to move." The students did as they were told and spread their arms and legs. Tala found it hard to do as his muscles could barely lift his arms up from his body. The dog were given an order and each of them started to sniff around there pants. The one at Tala's was a little more anticipant and suddenly lifted up his frond paws and rest them on Tala's chest. Sniffing his neck, as if he was out to rip his throat to pieces whenever it could. It was so close that the redhead could feel the growling against his chest, even though you couldn't hear it. Then Tala suddenly made eye contact with the animal which remained on its place. Almost like Tala told the animal to lay off, the shepherd suddenly dropped its paws back on the ground and walked back to its master, and sat down calmly. Also did the dog with Kai as it walked back to the officer, and let himself be leashed again. They used the dogs to trace out possible possession of drugs. And as Tala came in contact with it on a regular base, that was always a tense moment. The female officer was satisfied and nodded to fallow her. They had to cross a large flank opening with a secluded basketball court in the middle and watch out posts almost everywhere at the walls. And on top of the walls, even now when no one was outside. To reach the other side, which would lead to the section were their goal would be sitting in a cell. Waiting.
When they finally reached the door, the female grabbed a set of keys and picked out one from fifty. Unlocking the steel door and walking in first.
"Wait pleas." She said walking through a metal bow. Moving around it and picking another key and sliding it inside a lock, and entering a password. Pushing a button as the machine was turned on. A metal detector.
"One at a time, pleas." She said kindly and Tala walked through it first. Nothing happened. Now Kai walked through it... Nothing happened. Once it was clear that they had nothing on them, she shut the machine off and locked the door behind them. Now they walked through a long empty hall with here and there a window letting in some light, and giving you a view of the outside terrain. Something the inmates wouldn't be getting and were locked deeper inside the prison. The group of three made their way deeper inside the fortress. Now the first cells began to pass. First they were only metal bars, put close together. But before they had to take a turn left, both males could see the more isolated cells. Tala could feel his heart aching, weighting heavy. Kai looked sideward's at his friend. He could only imagine the pain he was in. To have the person you love so much, be stuck in a place like this, maybe till the end of his days... But before anyone could speak they had already reached their destination. They stood in frond of a door which was also guarded by another two males in uniform.
"These men have come to visit an inmate. Number B21825114, they're already bringing him here." She said informing the men. It was obvious everything went as smooth as a straight line here. Everything went ahead like a flame on oil. The officers nodded and unlocked the door.
"Only one of you is allowed to see him." The man said as he shot both of them a look as in 'who?'. Tala stepped forward as he entered the room without question. Leaving Kai behind who found a place with the wall and leaned casually against it, with his arms crossed and closed eyes. Leaving one officer outside as the other had to join Tala in the room as the redhead was not allowed to be alone in a room with an inmate. It was a normal lighted room with no windows, the walls were painted soft yellow and only one white phone hang on the back of wall in case of emergencies. It was a small room, the centre of the space was split in two by a thick glass wall. A desk was places against the glass just like the other side and a cheap chair places behind it. On the wall next to the seat hang a phone with a wire on the exact place on the other side of the glass hang another one. The only form of communication was through that phone. Two security camera's hang on his side of the room in each corner, and so did in the other side of the room. The place was probably bugged for sound also, but only that one you couldn’t see. Tala's eyes no longer had the need to scan through the place, he had been here so many times. He wish that he didn't.. but he had no other choice. He slowly moved towards the chair and sat down, ignoring the guard who stood silently next to the door. Tala could feel his heart race, he felt nervous. He always felt like that when he was about to see him, also when his love was still free... but of course he always tried to hide that. Tala tried to hide that he wanted to be with him, that he wanted him to whisper naughty things in his ear when he least expected it. He always acted like he hated it... But those small thing were now that he missed the most...
Then, the door at the other side of the glass, opened. Tala's eyes shot up as they were set to rest on the form he missed so much. Short light grey locks of hair combined with soft green eyes, a tall posture of a seemingly exhausted man. Wearing a light orange overall and over worn shoes on his feet, while his ankles were cuffed and so were his wrists. Stolen from his freedom the inhabitant looked up to face a man he could call his former lover. The person Tala longed for to see.
"Bryan..." The redhead finally slipped between his dry lips, as if it was torn right from the heart. Tears filled his eyes as he saw the handsome man walk over to the glass wall, and slowly sat down in his chair with a light smile on curved his lips. The male in frond of him was one year older than himself, making him nineteen. Tala couldn't help but only feel worse as he saw his loved one smile. He knew Bryan's smile was only one to cover up how he really felt, he knew his smiles.. even if he rarely smiled, this one was fake. Tala moved his hand towards the phone and picked it up, holding it against his ear, almost like he expected to hear someone scream right into his eardrums. The redhead thought that Bryan would be most likely to immediately grasp for the phone and at least say something. But he didn't.
"Bryan? What's wrong?" Tala spoke with a lump inside his throat, a big one. The gray haired male couldn’t hear him, only read his lips. Slowly he brought both his still cuffed hands up to the phone at the wall, and brought it to his ear. It remained silent for a moment but then..
"I missed you." Spoke Bryan with a husky voice. He knew this would happen, and triggered something within Tala. Salty tears slipped down his cheeks as his ice blue orbs lowered down into oblivion. Dropping the phone and letting his head fall inside his arms on the desk. Within the dark safety of his own arms, Tala tried to shut his eyes so hard that the tears couldn't get out anymore. He would not allow it, not here in frond of Bryan. The older male had a saddened look as he shoved closer to the glass to put his left hand against it, and still holding the phone against his ear with cuffed arms.
"Ivanof, look at me." The man said strong and stern through the phone, his voice came from the phone hanging lonely at its wire. The redhead couldn't refuse as he lifted his head slowly from his arms. Softly whipping his own cheeks away from tears as he looked up, inside Bryan's eyes.
His watery eyes glistering in the many TL light of the bulbs. Tala hated it when Bryan had to see him like this. Anyone rarely did, only the ones close to him knew how torn Tala really was inside. When the two males finally were face to face again, Tala half knew that this would happen. Though he was surprised that he held out as long as he did.
"Don't do this to me Tal... It hurts me to get through inside here alone, I miss you each day. Pleas don't be sad at the only time I can see you." Bryan spoke harsh, but true words. And Tala knew it as he freed his eyes of the last tears with the sleeve of Kai's coat. His face returned to his normal cool posture, but with a friendly tone.
"I know. I'm sorry, I just get easily carried away these days." Tala said through the phone as his mind memorized that he used to think things through first, before he would do thing so rational. Almost like when his love left, he took a big piece of his sane of mind with him. Bryan nodded, and his oceanic green eyes fell like touching hands pass Tala's form. And then narrowed them.
"Why are you still using it?" The grey haired inmate suddenly questioned. Tala looked away from his former lover and tightened his grip around the phone. In a way, he felt guilty. He found it hard to answer that and therefore said nothing. Not to Bryans satisfaction though.
"I thought that at least you, would have the decency to lay off the drugs." Tala could hear Bryan was disappointed in him. He knew he would if he found out, which he knew Bryan would. He was an expert on the ground of drugs, he knew how they worked, what they did, and what the after affects were. He know how to make them, and how to get them. But that was not the main reason he was in jail. No, partly it was though. But that was not why he was put inside USA's biggest prison facility ever made.
"I'm sorry... Its just, I don't know anymore... I'm so lost without you, and all I seem to feel is regret these days. I can't help but to only blame myself for the fact that you're in here.. its all my fault..." Tala had to take a good calm breath to prevent himself to fall back into hysterical crying sobs, he calmly closed his eyes and tried to push his new tears back. He was so far away from his former self.
"Its not, stop saying that it is. Its all Boris's fault. You know he framed us, he did it. Not you. Its only for the better that I'm in here, and not you. I know you wouldn't have survived one week in this place." Bryan said with a small smile as he mocked the younger redhead playfully. Tala looked into his eyes, and actually felt slightly better. He lifted his hand and placed it against the glass, were on the other end Bryan's palm was placed. So close, yet so far.
"I still think of you everyday, every night, every moment I have to spend alone... And how I would love to take revenge for what Balkov has done." Tala said with anger filling in his voice. So much hatred. Who knew when it would become to much. Bryan chook his head.
"One day, the truth will come out. And I'll be free again. Don't let my sacrifice be for nothing, and stay out of this place. Revenge will come, but not now…" Bryan said smiling comforting at his redhead. His hand slowly moved against the glass as he ended his sentence.
"How did you get here anyway? You're in no position to be driving." He began before a to long silence would fall.
"I was planning to drive myself anyway, but Kai just had to interfere. As usual." He added a little sarcastically. Suddenly it noticed him how easily people pushed him around! Or was it just him thinking that. It must be the way he was feeling now.. not really caring if it did happen or not. Bryan blinked.
"Kai 's here too?" The gray haired male questioned through the phone. Tala nodded.
"Never expected him to be so helpful all of the sudden, I remember him as a total differed person.. Say Hi for me. So, what else is new?" Bryan questioned trying to make Tala a little more comfortable, even though he had two guards in his own room, and one in Tala's. That is something you just have to deal with.
"Uhm.. Nothing much. Yeah, there is this new kid. Kon Rei. He's from a village somewhere inside the mountains of China. Seventeen years old, he first signed up for medicals for some reason but in the second weak already tried to switch to musician. Not too bad… way ahead of his lead though. He made it to enter our band, a miracle had to be there to make that ever happen." Tala spoke. Not really leaving anything away from his mind, but also he knew how Bryan thought about outsiders. Yes, Bryan used to be a member of the Demolition boys too. But when he was arrested, was kicked out officially. After that moment, Tala wanted to quit as well. But his lover had wrote him a letter, telling him to stay, and not to give up on his dreams that easily. So the redhead did as his love wanted, and stayed.
"A new member? How long is he a part of it? And is he any good? Did they try and kill me yet?" the inmate questioned with a smirk at the thought of some nerd being chased by his former band with sharp objects. Tala gave a small chuckle when he saw Bryan's expression, knowing how his mind worked, knowing what he was thinking about.
"About two and a half months. I used to think he sucked big time, he's a big-mouthed loser who thinks he can do whatever he want and expects it to just, happen on its own. But I got to know him a little, and it proves that there is more than meets the eye. If he's more in comfort he's kind, and a forgiving person. We had the performance yesterday night… the one you had to be in too. What we had practised for almost three years.." Tala said hanging his head a little. The one he meant was, were the scouts would come and make them possibly known. They had to practise, practise and practise over and over again. And just when their goal was getting in sight, Bryan fell behind. Rei kind of, took his place.
"And yeah, they did try to kill him. But failed. He's like a cat, with nine lives. Even thought I think he already lost two, maybe three. We even send in our own little spy to overshadow him, helpful but not as much as we'd like." After hearing all of that Bryan was silent for a few moments.
"Kon Rei, hm? You said, used to. Does that mean you don't think he's that bad anymore?" Tala gave a short smile and briefly closed his eyes.
"No, I don't think so. But also, who can blame him in being slightly paranoia?" Bryan looked confused for a moment.
"What do you mean?" Tala raised his shoulders and dropped them with a little smug, almost if he was proud of it. But then after thinking about it, not really.
"Gerland and Brooklyn almost drowned the kid once in a sink inside a boys bathroom. He didn't really stand a chance and would've surely died, if Kai hadn't stopped them on the last moment." This answer drove extreme curiosity from within the gray haired prisoner. Kai saved the freshman? Hiwatari? The cold hearted bastard who was known to be cruel and found of his own hatred, and was seemingly happy about it too? Tala could see that Bryan's mind was working, he was a deep thinker. One who always wanted to plan out things so they would go smoothly. If you did something, Bryan was one step ahead of you. The only time when he failed in that, was the one night he had no other choice but get arrested. And had to pay dearly for it, as you could see.
"Hiwatari, saved.. him? That's, really new. There was a time that the man would eat boy's like that for breakfast. The guy has turned soft, hasn't he." Tala gave a slight nod, but with a smirk. Bryan knew there was something the redhead wasn't telling him. But let it slip. Switching the subject.
"I'm sorry to bring it up again but, how is the business of Biovolt going?" Bryan said in a more of a business tone. Tala's heart fluttered..
Biovolt, a corrupt organisation filled with undercover terrorists of the worst. They use the name as they are a record company and sponsor top artists who they believe to make it big time, making millions each year. But behind the scene are one of the biggest organisations on criminal activities still unknown. Extortion, blackmailing, fraud, kidnapping, bribery, murder and of course a huge line of drug dealers. Once caught in Biovolt's web, your life will never be the same again. Biovolt's employee's were everywhere. Hiding underneath normal ranking from police officers to journalists and adults both man and female, to children to use for own profit. They always had sick way's of making you do things you didn't want to do, but gave you no other choice. Money, a fake cover which worked brilliantly and power… made a deadly combination once in the hands of man like Boris Balkov.
"They made me do a few deals around the city boarder, including the college. Nothing that bad… I just feel more pressure of Biovolt's man around me. Boris is hanging around the place more often too. And to make it even worse… Biovolt is one of the contract companies. I don't know what to do… what if they take over my life completely? What if I'll end up in the gutter if I don't do what they tell me to do? I want to be with you Bryan… now more than ever!" Tala could feel the hands of Biovolt creeping closer to their college. It scared him… no one knew what they were capable of! Only few did. And the ones who told outcasts, didn't live long. Nor the ones they told it to. They had so much power… and no one could help them.
"Its okay Tal, its okay…" Bryan knew that it wasn't, but hell he would take a bulled through the head first than to admit that it wasn't. The older male smiled at the younger wolf.
"Stay strong Red, don't let them tear you down. I know you can take much, much more than this. I believe in you… God, you're so hot, you know that?" The inmate suddenly said after a brief silence. That was probably a piece of mind sticking out there way to long to say. Tala brought his hand back to the glass wall, so did Bryan.
"I love you…" Tala said, pain dripping from each tone he let out from his throat. As if the drugs from last night affected his ability of speech. But just when Bryan wanted to say something back, the guards behind him pulled him back onto his feet. Tala felt a pull on his should and was brought back to reality. The phone line went dead. Tala started to shout Bryans name as the two officers started to drag him back out of the room. Tala's hand never leaving the glass which contained Bryan's hand print on the wall. The redhead stared in panic as they took his loved one away again… but still he could read the words on his lover's lips before they shut the door and locked him away again.
"I love you too."
Tala stepped out of the visitors room again, half heartbroken half relieved. His expression was an unwritten puzzle as he faced a certain dual hair leaning against the wall in old style fashion, still. Hiwatari looked up with a blank expression, of course he had heard the screaming inside.
"How did it go?" He finally questioned as Tala walked pass him, but stopped briefly again. Kai stared at his back, Tala's sick posture had slightly improved. A smirk formed on Tala's face, one which Kai did not see.
"Bryan say's Hi."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Oooh… I think I kind of might be a little too much… drunk." Miguel said lying half on the floor with his head and upper back, half on the couch with his legs still on it. His arms above his head on the floor and one hand in frond of his head trying to work against some migraines. Behind him, the two others in the room were groaning in agreement.
"I think I almost kind of might be a little too much drunk myself…" Raul said, half on the floor, half on the table with his arms and head facing down on the tabled.
"Rei? You still with us dude?" Raul said a little laughingly as he tried to look sideward's to the floor. But found it hard to do because he couldn't see straight anymore. The room was spinning and twirling before the Spanish boy's eyes. He groaned and fell backwards on the floor, mumbling things like 'stop moving already.' Somewhere next to him, there was another fondled moan of desperation.
"Dude? You really are far Miguel…" Rei spoke lying half under the low table, with only his legs sticking out. He could've tripped anyone who came by if anyone wasn't so set on staying were they where. Also like himself.
"That wasn't me.. That was Raul Einstein…"Miguel said pulling his legs off the couch and letting them drop on the floor with a thud. He turned around on his stomach and crawled over the floor with trouble until he found someone. His hands searching over that someone's face.
"What about a little kiss Raul?" The blonde said moving his face closer to what he believed was his boyfriend.
"Cut it out Miguel!" Rei said rolling away in angst. He rolled on until he hit the wall and stayed there lying on his stomach with his arms above his head.
"Whoeps, wrong one." The sandy blonde said crawling towards the other side and found a hand he knew. Then he smiled and kissed the palm.
"That's mine thought." Raul already had red blushes of his drunkenness, but they became even more red after that particular comment. Also, both Miguel and Rei had red cheeks and looked like they were blushing constantly. Then Rei felt something clear within his brains as a sudden thought shot him, why he got drunk in the first place.
"Say… what's the time?" Rei questioned rolling on his back again and sitting up, pushing his back against the wall with a small groan. Also his friends sat up now, lifting themselves up to sit on the couch. The blonde brushed through his locks of hair and grabbed his phone of the table. Pushing the button letting the screen lit up.
"Almost ten past one, midnight." The blonde said looking back at the raven haired student. Who had to take a few more seconds than normal to react. Giving a funny effect. First it was complete silence… And then Rei's eyes widened and he jumped up. Resulting to drop back on his ass because of sudden blood circulation to the head, resulting in dizziness.
"Oh no! I should have brought all my stuff to that bastard's room before eleven this evening! I'm so screwed… how am I able to bring all my things there on my own? Drunk?" Then there was a sudden knock on the door, and all the boys looked up towards the door. Almost expecting it to fly open and reveal twelve clown dressed monkeys riding small bicycles. But when that didn't happen and the knocking went on Raul tried to stand up.
"Who is it?" Raul said shouting to the door, a little to loud as he finally stood back on his legs, holding the couch for support.
"Its Julia, you know, your one and only bigger sister? Are you going to open up or not?" The Spanish girl responded impatiently. Raul made his way a little trip-ish-ly towards the door, and opened it for his older sister. Revealing another pare of venomous green eyes and long double toned orange hair. As the older sister she was, she immediately saw that her little brother was drunk.
"Raul! Are you drunk?!" The little brother smiled nervously as he couldn't be bothered to hide it, she already knew. She had a deadly glare set upon him but then saw there were two others in the room. Clearly, also drunk. And an empty bottle of liqueur on the table drew her attention.
"I see Miguel and Rei couldn't be bothered to try and stop you, hm? Miguel, I expected more from you! Rei, you too!"
"Did someone say drunk?" Suddenly a new voice said behind Julia. She turned around and there stood Michael. Smiling sheepishly as usual.
"Hey there mates!" The sportsman said looking around the doorway and waved at the two other males in the room who said a dry 'Hey' in union with both an arm held high.
"What are you doing here Michael?" Julia asked knowing this was not his building.
"I was here to visit a friend, he had an arm injury today during baseball… poor guy, knocked out of the running for at least a month. He never saw it coming, the bat that is." Michael answered kindly, but with a tone of sadness for his friend.
"Ah, that's to bad for the guy. I hope he gets better soon." Julia answered with a smile towards the taller blonde.
"Hello! Guys! An arm injury isn’t the main problem here! I need to get my stuff shipped to Kai's room -as-of- right-now you know!" Rei said interrupting the friendly talk and popping up next to Raul. Miguel came up walking whilst rubbing his eyes to see better.
"Oh.. That's right. I totally forgot about that." Raul filled in as Rei sighed in defeat. Julia and Michael blinked in surprise with this new piece of information.
"Hey mate, you bunking in with Kai Hiwatari? I didn't know that! That's awful!" The sportsman said rubbing his head underneath his cap. Julia nodded.
"Condolence." Julia said with a sympatric bow. Rei got a twitch as he gritted his teeth.
"I'm not dead yet." The group laughed but the three males quickly grabbed for their own heads in pain. Making Julia and Michael laugh longer, but stopped when they realised they might just wake someone up.
"Okay, I make you a deal Rei. We all help you to ship your stuff to that other room, if you agree to be in one dept to each of us for one time only." Julia said with a smirk as she put her hands in her sides and gave him a side way's cocky look. She knew she held the strings, and his friends actually thought that to be a cool idea. Rei looked shocked and gasped.
"you got to be joking me! Why?! I thought you were my friends!" Miguel and Raul gave the neko a pull to the shoulder to make him hush a bit, he was talking to loud. Julia smiled, of course she was evil now.
"Of course we are, but even friends can have times of need. A reassurance that you'll help is only comforting to us! Just like we will help you now." She said acting all smart. Rei grunted and had no other choice than to make the deal. He sighed in defeat and let his head hang down.
"Fine…" Everyone had a small grins on their faces, one wish they could have for Rei to do for them. Four wishes. The thrills they could have… But as they agreed, the three males grabbed their coats and the group of five made their way towards Rei's dorm room. Talking on the way about normal things, and hearing Julia rant on about why the hell they got so drunk. Then Rei told his part and the female could understand it a bit better, but did not agree for Raul to do the same thing. When they finally reached the door of Rei's apartment and opened it shot the neko that he hadn't packed anything at all. He turned to his friends and laughed nervously.
"I haven't packed anything yet… heh… I don't have that much stuff though! One box of books and two suitcases of clothes. If we spread those over each person, it'll be lighter to carry." The group nodded and entered, what would be Rei's room for the last time. All of them separated and did something so it would go faster. Miguel and Raul collected Rei's stuff from the bathroom and Julia and Michael emptied the things in the kitchen. Not that in the kitchen was much to empty but you'd never like to open a cabin and found a rotten apple in there or something. Rei was inside his own bedroom throwing his clothes and books in bags and boxes spread over five. The Spanish girl and sportsman were done first and re-united with Rei first in the bedroom.
"We're done in the kitchen. What now?" Julia questioned as she saw a pile of books.
"Why not put those books inside those two boxes." Rei suggested pointing at two midsized boxed who stood empty and ready to be filled. The two nodded and got at it, dropping to their knees and starting the fill the boxes up. Rei had equally shared his clothes over three bags and closed them all. Then Raul and Miguel came in with a few bottles of shampoo and towels.
"Where to put these?" Raul questioned. Rei shot a look at the closed bags and opened the one who seemed most empty. He took the items and dropped them inside the bag. Pulling it shut with trouble, but it was shut.
'Now just to hope none of the bottle decide to burst open..' Rei thought when he shot a look at the tightness of the bag. After making a final round through the rooms they decided for the apartment to be empty. Everyone carried a box or a bag out of the door as Rei locked it with a small sigh.
"Cheer up Rei, its not the end of the world!" Raul said cheerfully.
"Yet." Miguel coughed with his hand in frond of his face, trying to make it sound fake. But was to convincing so be. After the door was locked, Rei turned around, and gave him a smack again the arm.
"Cut it out already!" The neko-jin snapped at him as Julia stepped between them like a mother would do with two fighting kids. As they walked downstairs, they could not use the elevator for they were with to many and the elevator was to small, conversation started again. Rei had to make a small stop at the desk to give his key back though. When he returned it, they moved outside. Michael noticed Rei's saddened face with a small smile, he was trying to hide something.
"I know you're not to found with bunking with Kai mate, but, what's wrong?" The sportsman said keeping his voice down so that the others wouldn't suddenly be taken away from their own conversation.
"Oh, its just.. That room was the first place I could call my own, and didn't have to share with anyone. Normally people hate it to be alone in a place like that, but I've never had the chance. There always had to be an adult around, or I had to be around people my age. You never really had private time or something." The blonde nodded and answered with a dry 'ohh' They walked on and on until they all reached the building closest to the performance house. Something caught Rei's eye. It seemed that, the further they walked on, the sense of 'class' became greater. And Kai's building was the first, and his was one of the last. Oh the irony.
"Well, this is it. Building A, musicians and actors. A looong walk, but we're there… finally." Julia said with a sigh as she lowered the bag she carried for a moment. Rei nodded as he swallowed a lump in his throat…
'Kai is in there… and I have the feeling he won't be to happy to see me.' Rei thought and then realised his friends had already went inside and he was wondering in his own mind again. He shocked.
"Hey guys! Wait up!" Rei said running after them. They already stood in frond of the desk were the lady sat, who would help them further. When the raven haired student finally squeezed himself between the group he began.
"Good evening miss."
"Good evening, how can I help you." The woman spoke. This one was a full grown adult and much older than the lady at his own building. Hair tightly pulled back into a knob and the traditional wear the register ladies had to wear made her look extra stern. A pair of small glasses on the tip of her nose and she had fine wrinkles at the side of her lips, which were painted glowing red. Just like her extra long nails, that made a tacky sound each time she hit the keyboard.
"Yes, my name is Kon Rei and I am expected to move in with Hiwatari Kai on expectations of the musician teacher Ronin." The miss listened carefully, but also had her eyes out for the unusual parade of people he had with him. She began to tick away on the keyboard, and everyone felt annoyed by her over lengthened nails. After a few minutes of waiting, she looked up again.
"Yes, I see. It’s the ninth floor, the top to be exact. Room number 113. You have to excuse us, for there is only one key of this room, and mister Hiwatari already took it with him when he left earlier this evening. You have to wait until he gets back before you can enter, sorry for the inconvenience."
"Its okay, thank you for the information. Lets go." He said to the 'gang' as they walked on towards the elevator. When it came down and opened, it revealed a much larger space than at his former building. The doors and interior, was preferably golden. The style of this building must be the more classical fancy like. When they got in and pressed the top floor, the doors shut normally and it started to move. There even was a background music playing for extra comfort.
"Gosh Rei, you're really lucky to stay in this kind of place. I never really been in building A." Julia said as she herself stayed in building C, normal class. Rei didn't really pay to much attention to that, he wasn't used to the rich life or anything, and didn’t want to get used to it either. Well, not to get so found of it sort of speak. The doors opened again and revealed a long hall. It seemed longer than his previous one. They began to scroll down the hallway over what seemed expensive carpet. Golden chandlers hang on the ceilings and the walls were bronze brown of colour, giving a really warm effect. It drew attention that the doors were much further apart than in his former building, there were even less doors! Does that mean the rooms were bigger?
"Here we are, room 113." Miguel said dropping the box on the floor next to the door and knocking roughly on the door to see if anyone was home. Rei almost got a heart attack.
"What are you doing?!"
"Checking if he's back. Knowing his reputation, he would be holding a gun against my head by now and seeing as that is not the case, he must still be gone. And I rather not like to find out if that's true what I just said." The blonde said with a paranoid look on the white painted door. The locks in these buildings worked with card key's… High-Tec. The rest also put the stuff down around the first placed box next to the door and turned to the raven haired boy.
"Well Rei! I wish you luck! And I hope I'll be seeing you any time soon again." Julia said smiling and waved her goodbye's.
"Same count's for me Rei my mate, but I really should be going, a sportsman needs his rest!" Also Michael said, and left after giving him a friendly hand.
"Us too Rei. You can always contact us through cell phone, and room phone. Call whenever you want I'll be sure to pick up. Don't get too stressed out, he's still human, not the monster under your bed. Good luck ReiRei!" Raul said as he gave his friend a friendly hug. Miguel gave him a pet on the shoulder and the thump up. Encouraging him. Rei smiled.
"Thanks.. You guy's have been a great help. See you tomorrow." They all made their goodbye's.. and left. Leaving Rei all alone in the hallway leaning against the wall in the dimmed light of the hallway lights. Rei sighed as the minutes crawled by. He looked on his watch, fifteen to two. Suddenly, Rei realised he was really tired. He yawned widely, and sat down on one of the boxes.
'God I hope he comes soon so I can finally go to bed…'
Rei swore he heard sounds, but he was to sleepy to open his eyes. There it was again… someone was in his room?! Rei slowly opened his catlike orbs and rubbed in them to clear away from sleep. Hallway? Rei looked around kind of confused, when he looked to his right, he saw a tall form cloaked inside a black French coat standing in frond of a door. He blinked with his eyes and tried to get his grey mass of brains back online again. The man in frond of him slowly turned his head, almost robotic and then Rei stared inside fire like crimson orbs. Beaming through the blackness around his face filled with hatred, power, remorseless to his prey and held it hidden for the entire world. One moment, just one, Rei could see the side of that man he had never seen before… Kai Hiwatari.
"W…what time is it?" Rei said a little out of his game. He was slightly frightened by what he had just seen. Kai looked away and shield behind his strands of hair and collar of his high coat. He did not answer, like he wanted to give the freshman any trouble. He opened his door and went inside. Rei almost thought he would close the door behind him again, but he didn't. The neko-jin slowly stood up and moved towards the door. He peeked inside, he couldn't see properly 'cause the dual hair kept the lights off. He half expected the door to be shut in frond of his face, but when that didn't happen he took a step inside.
"Some lights would be nice… where should I put my stuff?" Rei questioned trying to break the silence. Which he knew would be way enough of. Silence. Rei's eyes began to adapt to the darkness around him, he could make out Kai taking his coat off, and hanging it around a stool. Then kick of his shoes and walk to a place what Rei believed could be a kitchen. Hearing the many amount of steps the dual hair had to make, this place had to be huge… Like he expected. Nothing was to much for the great and all mighty Kai Hiwatari. Rei began to feel frustrated when he didn’t talk back to him at all. He hadn't said a word yet. The neko narrowed his eyes.
"You know, a little information would be nice you know!" Rei said with a little bit of anger shone through the boarders. He could hear a glass getting filled and a cupboard opening and closing again. The neko was on the verge of shouting as he grabbed his phone, and took a look at the time himself. Half past three. Rei's eyes widened.
"What?! Half past three?! You got to be kidding meee!" Rei whined as he knew he would be dead beat tomorrow. Even thought tomorrow would be Sunday, he didn’t want to spend his day in bed. But he didn't want to walk around as a zombie either!
"Shut, up. you're a nuisance." He heard Kai say. It gave him chills throughout his body, he forgot how mysterious and husky it sounded. Like, calm before the storm. He saw the dual hair's form walk by again, and open a door. What Rei believed was his bedroom.
"Wait! Were do I sleep?" Rei questioned as he could make out that the older male had stopped before his door. The raven haired student blinked as he saw his arm lift up and point somewhere. Rei's eyes fallowed the finger until it stopped at the yet black couch which he could hardly see, but not leather for once. And before Rei could protest, the door slammed shut and Kai had disappeared. But Rei wasn't the type to leave it to that. He ran through the dark and reached the door, pulling onto the handle and pounding on the door. It was locked from the inside.
"Hiwatari! You can not expect me to sleep on the couch, you bastard!" Rei shouted franticly. Loud enough to wake people up. Continuing to pound on the door it suddenly disappeared and he almost fell inside the room, shame that a pillow and a blanket were thrown inside his face which made his fall backwards again on the carpet floor. The door shut again. Defeated, he stood up again with the pillow and blanket, and laid them on the couch. Then he went back to the door and placed all his belongings inside the apartment, closed the door and hang his coat on the stand. He kicked his shoes off and searching around on the bags for his Pyjama's. when he found them, he walked back to the couch and stripped of his clothes, then put the garment on again and dropped almost lifelessly onto the couch.
"What a day… First hearing the bad news, then getting drunk, than getting late for something I shouldn't have worried to be late of, and now this! He's still human? Yeah right. Not the monster under the bed, and hell I hope not under the couch!"
"Cuuuuuuuuuut!" *_________________* Its doooone! 17 pages! Hell I hope you liked it ¬¬ I promised this chapter two weeks ago. But hell I've been busy. You can surely count on it that I won't be updating any time soon now, cause my new school period is starting and I have to focus. Its my exam year and I have to write my book! Better, finish It this year! God… that'll be hard. Some dots on the I…
Supermax Go to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADX_Florence and you'll find information about the prison it self. Yes I used a real existing facility. Or google it and type in the search bar; Supermaxes or Alcatraz of the Rockies. You'll find enough info about it.
If you want to know how Bryan ended up in prison, and what actually happened that time ago, should I write that in the next chapter? Or do you guys want me to write a good detailed one-shot about it? Because its more of a history patch between the former demolition group and doesn't involve Rei at all. If you have a opinion you can review me or e-mail me at; wispers-in-the-dark@hotmail.com Also if you have questions you want me to answer for you I would be gladly to do so.
Also, Biovolt. I've transformed it a little into some dark evil terrorist conspiracy hideout. Well, that's what it is in my story. What happened in the manga (which I did not read) or anime, did not happen in this story. It has a whole new purpose, I just used the name and fact that it was already an evil company =3
Anything else?... Oh yeah! I made a drawing once from Kai and Rei in an alley right? Well, I photoshop'ed it >.> If you care; http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a112/gardienangel/manga/KaiReiRainKiss2copy.jpg That's the link. I tell you once again, I will NOT update for a while. I'm really sorry… I hate to pause this story so abruptly but I have no choice, I even made a 'to do list' and hang it on my bulletin board, and yeah its long. But at least I can scrap writing Chapter 17!
Review and Rate my children! Make me happy! *Which I always am with great readers as you guys XD* I'm also thinking about giving out a drawing contest, would that be anything? If some of you fans would like a contest, with prises of course ^^ Than mail or review, and I'll leave an authors note! *huggles*
Sayonara! See you guy's in a while! Dja.

Dja.
