Part 18
A Small Piece of Heaven – Part 18
The instant Wufei woke up memories of the night before came back to him crisp and clear. For a moment he wondered if anything else that happened that he didn’t remember. Carefully he cracked open first one eye then the other, relieved to find that the other side of the bed was empty. Apparently Treize had slept somewhere else.
A few rays of morning sunlight found their way through the heavy curtains, painting golden steaks onto the pristine white bed sheets.
The boy stretched with a yawn. The movement sent a small ripple of pain from his left ankle through his leg, reminding him of his injury.
Great, Wufei thought grimly, a whole week in bed, just what I wanted.
At the sound of the door being slowly opened the boy turned his head. First a tray with dishes and food, then Milliardo’s pale-blond head appeared in the opening. Noticing that Wufei was awake the young man smiled and stepped fully into the room.
“Good morning.”
“Good morning, Milliardo,” the black-haired boy returned the greeting, pushing himself up into a sitting position. He couldn’t explain why he was delighted to see the young man. “When did you get back?”
“Late last night. You were already asleep.” The blond set the tray down on the bed, removing the silver dome-like cover from a plate filled with eggs, and bacon. ”I hope you are hungry.”
As if on cue Wufei’s stomach growled loudly, reminding him that he had skipped dinner last night.
“I’ll take that as a YES.” Milliardo chuckled as he pulled away the cover from a basket filled with warm, freshly baked goodies. “Anna baked those crescents specially for you.”
“Hmmm,” Wufei said appreciatively, closing his eyes as he soaked in the delicious smell of the food. ”I love them.”
The blond slave stepped to the window to open the curtains, then seated himself onto the edge of the window sills and watched with a soft smile on his lips as the boy reached for one of the rolls and buttered it.
“I’ve heard you and the master were sword fighting and you almost killed him with your katana?! ” he teased.
“Is that what he told you?” The Chinese lad frowned.
“Not at first. He hates to admit defeat just as much as you do. But eventually I “tortured” the whole story out of him,” Milliardo laughed. “But to his defense I have to say that it took three tickle attacks before he broke down.”
“Have you eaten yet?” Wufei gestured at the tray indicating for the young man to help himself, but Milliardo shook his head.
“Thanks, but the master and I ate earlier.” There was something about the way he said it that hinted that the two had more than just an ordinary breakfast. With a smirk he pushed away from the window and headed for the door. ”I’ll better go and check on him. He was asleep when I left. – I’ll be back later to see if you need anything.”
Wufei watched as the blond walked out of the room, feeling a sudden bang of guilt. Despite all of Milliardo’s teasing and taunting the boy had to admit that he liked the young man. Milliardo was the friend he had come to trust and admire. Knowing that Milliardo had feelings for Treize he should have told the ex-colonel to stop last night when he had a chance. But he didn’t. Sure he could try to tell himself that he was not the only one at fault; that Treize knew very well what he was doing, but he didn’t think that it would make the feeling of having betrayed his friend go away.
***
Milliardo peaked carefully into his bedroom, smiling as he saw that the ex-colonel was still asleep. Quietly he slipped into the room and closed the door behind himself. For a moment he let his gaze wander over the lean, well-proportioned figure on his bed. The ginger-blond man was lying on his back, his arms over his head; wrists bound to the headboard with a pair of solid steel cuffs. His nude body covered with a thin silk sheet that revealed more than it was hiding.
The blond slave settled down on the edge of the bed, next to his master. Strands of pale-blond hair tickled the older man’s chest as he leaned forward to place a soft kiss on the ex-colonel’s lips.
Treize’s eyelids fluttered, a soft smile tugging on the corners of his mouth, as he woke up.
“Did you sleep well, Master?”
The ex-colonel tried to embrace the blond slave, but realized that he was still handcuffed.
“How long are you planning to keep me tied up like this?” he asked.
“As long as you allow me to,” Milliardo replied diplomatically. “Besides, the cuffs were your idea, remember.”
“Yes, to be used by me on you, not the other way around.” Treize answered, with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“I didn’t hear any complains from you earlier, Master.” The blond smirked. “And you can’t really say that you didn’t enjoy breakfast, can you?”
The ex-colonel blushed slightly. No, he really couldn’t. He had liked the feeling of being helpless in Milliardo’s control. It was a strange and unfamiliar position for him who had most of his adult life been in control of anything and anybody around him, but he had to admit that he had enjoyed it nevertheless.
Milliardo brushed his fingertips over the sensitive, inner sides of his master’s arms, making the older man almost purr in delight. He placed a trail a butterfly kisses along the ex-colonel’s neck and jaw, all the way to his ear.
“Do you really want me to untie you?” he whispered, his voice husky.
“What time is it anyway?” Treize asked, straining to push himself up far enough to get a good look at the clock.
“Almost 10,” Milliardo told him. “Do you have to be somewhere?”
“Unfortunately, I do. I have a buyer coming to see some horses in about an hour.” Treize signed.
“Couldn’t you call him and re-schedule? Tell him you are a little “tied up” this morning.” The blond slave suggested innocently.
“Milliardo, you are impossible,” the elonelonel told him, barely able to suppress a smirk.
“But you wouldn’t want it any other way.” Milliardo whispered low as he leaned forward to unlock the restrains. He gently rubbed his master’s wrists, where the cuffs had left slightly red marks.
***
A few hours later, while Treize went to the stables to show the potential buyer the horses Milliardo kept the younger slave company. He helped the boy move from the master’s bedroom to his own, for which Wufei was very grateful.
The blond had brought a chessboard along. He placed it onto the bed next to the boy and started setting up the figures.
“Too bad that we have to put our horseback training on hold for a week. I was hoping that we would begin jumping before the weather won’t allow us to use the range.”
Wufei snorted. “In your dreams. – If I never have to sit on one of those creatures in this lifetime again it witilltill be too soon.”
“Oh Wufei, why do you have to exaggerate everything?” Milliardo laughed. It was a deep and rich sound. “Tell you what, lets make a deal…” He finished setting up the game before he continued. “Best out of three. I win you will continue training. You win I’ll never bother you about it again.”
The boy hesitated.
“Afraid to loose?” the older slave asked, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes and a smirk tugging on his lips.
Wufei let out another snort. “Afraid of you? I’ll beat you any day.”
“Then what are we waiting for? You may pick the color.”
The Chinese lad chose black. He won the first game, but lost the second one and didn’t feel quite as confident anymore after Milliardo took out both of his bishops and his queen not too long into the third match.
A knock at the door interrupted them. Treize popped his ginger-blond head through the opening.
“Milliardo, Professor Hamill should be here any minute. I do not want him to have to wait for you.”
The blond nodded. “I’m right there, Master.” Professor Hamill was the private teacher the ex-colonel had hired for Milliardo. Treize was also looking for a tutor for Wufei, preferably one who would also be able to teach traditional Chinese subjects. Considering that the boy had been a scholar the ex-colonel was sure he would be glad to be able to pick up his studies again.
“I suppose we will have to finish this later,” Milliardo told the younger slave.
“Do you min I t I take over?” Treize asked, looking questioningly first at the blond, then at Wufei. The boy only shrugged and Milliardo said.
“That’s fine with me, just try not to loose; we have a bet going on this game.”
“A bet?” the ex-colonel echoed one of his eyebrows rising in surprise. “May I ask what’s in stake?”
Milliardo told him and Treize nodded.
“I see. Then I suppose I’ll have to make sure we win, won’t I?”
As the blond excused himself and left Treize sat down at the same spot the bed that Milliardo had vacated moments ago.
“How are you feeling this morning, little Dragon?” the ex-colonel asked, placing his hand on the boy’s shoulder in an innocent motion.
Wufei tensed.
“Please don’t do that.”
Treize pulled his hand away, giving the boy a surprised look. “Wufei?”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do this.” The Chinese lad pushed himself further away from his master.
“Play chess with me?” the ex-colonel asked, looking even more puzzled than before.
“No,” Wufei brows furrowed. “It’s…I have been thinking…about last night. It wasn’t right. It should never have happened…”
Treize’s expression turned from surprise to shock. “Wufei, please forgive me. I never meant to push you into anything you didn’t want to do. I thought you liked…”
The boy shook his head, realizing that the ex-colonel misunderstood him.
“No, it’s not that. You did ask me if I wanted you to stop and I said no, remember?” he lowered his head, staring down at the game board as he admitted. “I enjoyed it.”
“Then I don’t see where the problem lays?”
“I still don’t think it’s right.” Wufei looked up and into his master’s eyes as he continued. ”And I don’t want it to happen again.”
Treize nodded understandingly as he rose and pulled a chair next to the bed.
“Is that better?” he asked as he sat down across from Wufei.
“Thank you.” The boy’s respect for the ginger-blond man had risen by a few degrees.
***
Wufei pulled a large leather-bound book from the top of the shelf, turned and slowly limbed back to his bed. It had been four days since the accident, but he still could feel an uncomfortable pressure in his ankle, where the bones had been mended.
The boy was still a few feet from his bed when the door opened and Milliardo walked into the room.
“What do you think you are doing?” the blond slave snapped.
“What does it look like?” Wufei retorted, waving the book in his hand. “I was getting myself something to read.”
“Why didn’t you call for Evans or me? You know very well that the master told you not to leave your bed yet.”
“The master isn’t even home; won’t be home for another few hours.” the boy reminded the blond.
“But he put me in charge, remember. And I expect that you follow his orders even if he is not home…”
“Or what?” Wufei asked challenging.
“Or…” Milliardo walked over to the boy, stopping in front of him. “I’ll put you over my knee and give that cute little butt of yours the spanking it deserves.”
The boy’s jaw dropped. He blinked, speechless for a moment, then snorted defiantly.
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Do you want to try me?” Milliardo asked, his icy-blue eyes sparkling in a mixture of anger and amusement. He swept the boy off his feet, carrying him to the bed and placed him onto the sheets.
Wufei had wrapped his arms around his neck and didn’t let go right away, forcing the young man to bend down. Suddenly and without realizing what he was doing the boy pressed his lips against Milliardo’s in a quick kiss.
The blond looked at him in surprise.
Wufei could feel the heat rising to his cheeks.
What the hell have I been thinking? How could I…?
Milliardo had yet to move. He was leaning over the boy; his hands propped firmly right and left of Wufei’s head.
“That wasn’t bad at all,” he whispered suddenly in a voice that sent a shiver down the younger slave’s spine. “But let me show you how it’s really done.”
He lowered his head, covering Wufei’s mouth with his own. The boy opened his lips instinctively, gasping as he felt Milliardo’s tongue slip between them; moaning softly at the sensation. His hands buried themselves in strands of pale-blond hair, his own tongue now sparring with the intruder. He panted breathlessly as they finally broke their kiss. Milliardo pulled away just far enough that they could gaze into each other’s eyes. Obsidian black locked onto icy blue, and for that instant time just seemed to stop. Then the alarm on the nightstand broke the magic with its beeping.
“Time for your medicine.”
Milliardo straightened up, reaching for the small bottle, and Wufei silently cursed his broken leg, the alarm clock and the fact that it had to go off at exactly the wrong moment.
