Royal Pain 2

Chapter 2

Goku watched Vegeta take off and completely forgetting the two strangers, he went in pursuit of the smaller Saiyan. He could see only a tiny dot in the sky and the dot wasn’t getting any larger. Vegeta was flying faster then he’d ever flown before. It was true his smaller size made him unusually quick, but Goku had still always been able to keep up. Now it seemed it took all he had just to keep that tiny dot in sight. Goku bit his upper lip and transformed into a Super Saiyan, determined to catch the Prince. Now he began to slowly creep up to Vegeta until he could see him clearly, his beautiful muscles rippling beneath the dark blue shirt he wore as he put every ounce of his power into flying.

Vegeta turned to see Goku in hot pursuit and his eyes filled up with, fear?! Had Goku seen fear in the other Saiyan’s eyes? No, Goku shook his head to clear it. He must have seen wrong, after all why would Vegeta fear him? Goku looked up again to see Vegeta too had gone to Super Saiyan as well and was pulling ahead. Gritting his teeth he put more of his energy into his flight, picking up speed. He couldn’t exhaust himself by poring out all his energy as Vegeta was doing; it would leave him weak for days on end. At the same time he had to catch Vegeta, he had to know what was wrong.

~~~
Gohan saw his father sprint by after Vegeta and turned to Piccolo, a questioning look on his face. Piccolo shook his head, “no Gohan, leave them alone,” he said in a voice so quite only Gohan could hear. Gohan nodded to his love and then turned back to the two new comers.
Nether of the to Saiyans seemed willing to let his father and Vegeta have the space they needed. They started off after his father, or rather after Vegeta. They were blocked by Gohan, however. He floated in front of them, arms outstretched. “Leave my father and Vegeta alone.”
The one who called himself Nassu blinked, “why you little ungrateful twerp! Don’t you know who your… hey wait a sec, didn’t you just call Kakorot your father?” Gohan nodded slowly, they weren’t acting at all like the Saiyan’s he’d met before. It worried him.
The other Saiyan slapped Nassu over the head, “This boy is covered in the report I gave you. You did read the report, didn’t you?” Nassu seemed to have forgotten Gohan; he turned to the other Saiyan who if Gohan had heard correctly was named Daikon. Nassu frowned, “Um, I might have skimmed over a little of it.”
“Nassu!” Daikon practically screamed.
“It was only a little part, jeez Daikon I mean if you would just stop going on and on and on about nothing then I would’ve read it all but it was just so boring!”
“Going on and on and on, you mean like what your doing?” Nassu growled,
“Sure bring that up!”
A forgotten Gohan floated down to Piccolo; his head was beginning to hurt. Gohan leaned against his Namicean partners shoulder and groaned quietly out of inpatients. Piccolo began to gently stroke his love’s hair though a little nerves about the many eyes that now staring at him. Piccolo didn’t appreciate being the center of attention. Even the two Saiyan’s had stopped fighting to stare at him and Gohan. “I don’t remember seeing that in your report!” Nassu said as he stared down at the annoying youngster that clamed to be Kakorot’s son and the Namic.
Gohan heard a snicker come from his younger brother. Trunks tapped Goten on the shoulder a put his finger to his lips to tell his younger friend to be quite. Goten blushed, a little ashamed. He adored Trunks and did his best to please him.
“So I missed a few things okay.” Gohan turned to them, it didn’t seem like they were going to attack but they were Saiyans, he didn’t trust them. “If you’re done mothering me now Daikon, we’d better go look for Prince Vegeta. His power levels going farther and farther away. Daikon nodded so Nassu went to take off only to find Gohan blocking his path again.
“I said leave my dad alone.” Gohan wasn’t usually a violent person but if ether the planet or the people he cared for were in trouble he would do what it took to help them. Nassu blinked his big dark eyes then turned to Daikon, “Daikon can’t you deal with him, my tired!” Nassu wined. Daikon griped Nassu’s shoulder hard, “we agreed to leave this planet alone remember?”
“Ya but, but that little jerk is-” Daikon gritted his teeth, “that’s enough Nassu, you know what they say about this planet.”
“Your not being very respectful of your Prince you know” Nassu pouted unhappily.
“I’ll give you respect when you earn it. Until then you’ll just have to settle for being my equal.”
“You know you can respect an equal.”
Daikon smiled, “yes you can, but that don’t mean you have to.” Then before Nassu could snap back at him he turned to Gohan, “Gohan, that is your name is it not? We have no interest in your planet or your father. We’ve come to take Vegeta back to were he belongs. We do not intend to force him, he will come of his free will as he knows he must. Now step aside, I will not ask again.”
Nassu put his hands on his hips, “oh aren’t you just all mighty.”
“Nassu!” Daikon hissed though closed teeth. If it wasn’t for their looks Gohan would have found it hard to believe they were Saiyans.
“Um look I don’t mind if you want to talk to Vegeta but later. Right now why don’t you come back with us? We’ve got an extra room at Capsule Corp and plenty of food-” Yet another thing proved they were Saiyans, the moment Gohan said the word “food” their gazes both snapped around to face him.
“Well we haven’t eaten in quite a long time, I guess we could go with you for now and talk to Vegeta a little later.” Gohan smiled, knowing from personal experience that when they said they hadn’t eaten in “quite a long time” it probably meant they hadn’t eaten for about a half an hour.
“Okay follow me then.” Gohan took of with Piccolo pulling up beside him. His love gave him a questioning look. Gohan shrugged, “hey it didn’t turn into a fight so it’s a step in the right direction isn’t it?” Piccolo nodded but Gohan saw the worry in his eyes. Gohan was worried too, he hoped he hadn’t just let lose something terrible through Capsule Crop and Earth for that matter. “Well dad I hope you enjoy your talk with Vegeta cause it may cost us.”
~~~

Vegeta heard Kakorot pull up behind him. That cursed baka really didn’t know when to give up, but then again, he was a Saiyan. Saiyans were known for many things but never had they been known for giving up. Still, Vegeta wished just this once Kakorot would have let him be. Kakorot landed, gasping for breath, “Gosh Vegeta what’s wrong with you? By the way you were flying I’d have thought you were being chased by Freaza!” Vegeta kept his back to Kakorot. His eyes were felling with forbidden tears that try as he might Vegeta could not hold in. He didn’t want Kakorot to see him like this.

“Leave me alone Kakorot! I don’t have the patience to deal with your stupidity right now.” He didn’t have he patience to see his clueless face, oh why did Kakorot have to torment him so much? Kakorot was everything Vegeta had ever wanted to be, though he’d never emit it to anyone including himself. Kakorot was to innocent, to loyal, to loving… All the things Vegeta could never be. He admired that baka so much.

“Vegeta what’s wrong?” Vegeta kept his back turned towards Kakorot, why won’t he just leave me alone?!

“What’s wrong is that I have a annoying baka bothering me.”
Kakorot paused, “Vegeta did you just make a joke?” Vegeta blushed, thankful Kakorot couldn’t see his face that was now completely stocked with tears. He sniffed, “No joke, I’m serous.” Kakorot didn’t make a sound, for what seemed like forever he just stood there as still as a statue. A strong and confident statue Vegeta was sure, though he couldn’t see Kakorot. He didn’t need to; Kakorot was always there in front of his vision, tormenting him, laughing in his face.

“I’ll try this again, what’s wrong Vegeta and don’t lie to me.” Something snapped, Vegeta whirled to meet Kakorot with a steel hard face that was still drenched in tears. “You want to now what’s wrong Kakorot? I’ll tell you! I have to leave with those two Saiyans, I won’t ever see my son again.” And I love you! He barley caught himself before saying the last part out loud but it still rang silently in his heart. Oh hell, I do love him don’t I? That was really bad, not only was Vegeta supposed to become Nassu’s (who he knew by name only because he’d been arranged to mate with the other Saiyan Prince as a young boy) mate. No that wasn’t enough was it? No Kakorot also had to be a low-level fighter; such a mating was unheard of!

Kakorot had turned his back to Vegeta, “well Vegeta if that’s what you want…” he said in a choked-up voice. “Baka! I don’t want to go with them! It’s my duty as a Saiyan Prince.” “Vegeta-sei is gone Vegeta.” The prince’s breath was caught in his throat. He’d know for many many years that his planet was gone, but it still stole his breath away thinking about it.

“Kakorot, if I go with Nassu then there’s a chance we can rebuild the Saiyan race. Two Saiyan princes, on rare occasion have had the ability to make children. The chances of it are so small, but I have to try it’s the only thing a Saiyan Prince can do when faced with this situation, it’s in my blood.” Kakorot’s body seemed to tighten with Vegeta’s every word.

“Then, that’s it, you’re leaving?” Vegeta only nodded forgetting Kakorot couldn’t see him. Suddenly Kakorot spun and to Vegeta’s surprise there was a huge smile on his face. “Then I’m going with you, simple as that!” Then he put a finger to his forehead and was gone before Vegeta could let out as much as squeak of protest.
