Learning the Truth

Chapter 2

Vegeta’s frown turned into a look of utmost surprise when he entered the building. He had been right, he was in a club. But he had expected some underground dance club, not the scene that unfolded before his eyes now. Nor had he expected the smell.

The room was rather dark, only a few dim lights in various alcoves illuminated the place a little. He noticed that he was standing on some kind of gallery. To his left and right stairs led down to a dance floor with a huge bar off to the side. Flashing red and white lights danced over the people moving their bodies to the rhythm  of the music.

So far, the description still would have been just a dance club, had it not been for the various people bound and chained all over the place. Some were chained to the walls, others sat at the floor next to the people occupying the barstools. Almost all those people wore collars around their necks.

‘What the fuck?!? What kind of place is Kakarot working at?’ Vegeta wondered only for a moment. Somebody passed behind him, and he felt curious fingers touching his ass. He wanted to turn around and incinerate the insolent retard who had dared to touch the Prince of All Saiyajin, but he stopped himself. If he wanted to find out what was going on here, he couldn’t afford to cause a scene. He wrapped his tail closer around his waist and started to make his way along the gallery, his eyes searching for the familiar form of the other Saiyajin.

The smell in the air was really irritating. It smelled too strongly of sex. Everywhere. It seemed like those people had no restrain. When he took a closer look he could see a couple of people touching each other right down there on the dancefloor.

He had been in the club ten minutes already, and had not so much as caught a glimpse of Kakarot. Most visitors seemed to be males, but the one he wanted to see was not to be found.

Vegeta growled in annoyance. The ‘borrowed’ clothes made him feel uncomfortable. He must smell like one of those puny humans already. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around. He looked at a young man with brown hair, a little taller than himself.

“Hey, are you here all alone? I have some time, if you want to spend it with me. The prices are the usual ones.”

Vegeta blinked for a moment, then he shook his head.

“I am looking for somebody. For Ka...” He stopped. The earthlings usually only knew his fellow Saiyajin by his Earthian name. “For Goku.”

“Goku? Never heard that name. Well, if you are unlucky with your search, go to the barkeeper and ask for Chino. That’s me.”  With those words the man turned around and moved on. Vegeta stood there for a moment, lost in thought. Maybe Kakarot had already left the club again, through some backdoor or something, or that Chino was just an idiot.

The prince shook his head again. No use standing here for any longer, he had just waited for too long after Kakarot had entered the building. The clothes were uncomfortable and the smell of human sex got on his nerves. He turned away from the dancefloor and headed for the door.

Behind a curtain on the other side of the gallery Son Goku smiled to himself as he saw the annoyed smaller Saiyajin leave the place. He had stood there for the last ten minutes, just watching as the prince grew more and more impatient.

“You will be back soon enough, ‘Geta, you’ll be back.” He snickered to himself.

‘What is he doing in such a place? What kind of job is it he is doing?’ Vegeta dodged a blast and fired one back at the robot who had just attacked, blowing it to smithereens. Stupid ‘bots never could take a Ki blast.

‘And why does he not answer my calls or at least calls me back?’ Vegeta was surprised how much it annoyed him that the other Saiyajin did not contact him. Usually he was glad not to hear too much of the baka’s babbling.

‘Maybe that harpy will be able to tell me.’ He hit the control panel and shut off the program. He grabbed a towel and dried off his sweat. Yes, he would visit Kakarot’s home and ask his wife. The woman had said the harpy had found that job for her no-good husband.

With a firm nod to himself he opened the door and took off to the skies.

“What do you want? Goku is not here. So you can leave again.” The woman’s voice was shrill and unnerving. Vegeta gave her a look of utmost contempt, his own voice nothing more than a bored drawl.

“Then where is the baka? Do you know or has he just got lost in the woods again?”

Chichi glared at him but then her face changed. She put her hands to her hips and smiled. “For your information, Goku has a job now, unlike you, and he brings home good money, unlike you.”

“Hmpf. It looks like you are putting said money to really good use. All those nice new things you have gotten for yourself. And I hate to repeat myself. Where is the baka then?” Vegeta crossed his arms in front of his chest.

“He works for a construction company. And they pay him really well, as you noticed.” The pride in her voice almost made Vegeta sick. She was not actually proud of Kakarot, she was proud her idiot finally brought her the money she wanted. But she was obviously really thinking that he was working for a construction company.

“Hn. I noticed.....” He turned around and shot off into the skies without so much as a goodbye.

“Well, harpy, I, unlike you, know that your dear piggy bank is having hardcore secrets he is keeping from you. And I will find out what it is all about!”
