The Society of Assassins - 02
****************************************************

The Blazer drove past the large gates of the property, trees flying by as he continued down the driveway. He passed the house, heading toward the separate garage, parking the vehicle. Hopping out and grabbing his bags he set an alarmosedosed the garage and set a second alarm.

Walking back towards the house that was just passed, large echoing barks rang throughout the yard and he swiftly dropped his bag. A large German Shepard came barreling around the corner lunging and snapping at an arm swiftly placed before him. The dog continued tearing at the arm attempting to rip it from its owner. “Tequila.”

The dog released the arm, jumping happily with its ears perked up onto the owner in a large clumsy hug. Two more dogs came streaking around the corner teeth snapping. “Ducky, Marshmallow.” The two dogs bounded over rubbing their backs up against his legs.

“Hello guys.” The teens hand rubbed softly behind the husky’s ear and picked up his bags again walking over towards the house. The house was an old Victorian style with a porch that wrapped all the way around the house. It was two stories. Three if you included the basement. Surrounding the trees was woods, that was all there appeared to be on the property. The house the garage, the long driveway, the gate and the woods. Unlocking the door and stepping inside he toed off his boots and typed in the code on the alarm box. Sighing he dropped to the couch, running his fingers through his brown hair, ruffling the already messy bangs. “Computer on, code Tequila 2, Ducky 1, Marshmallow 13.” Lights turned on around the old house a crackling fire appearing in the grate of the fireplace. “Messages?”

--Fourteen messages and five news articles--

He sighed sitting up and running his fingers through his hair again. “Go”

--Message 1; “Hi Heero, It’s me Relena. I really miss you when are you going to call me back. I know I haven’t heard from you in a week or so, but still I wish you would call. I hope you’re doing alright. Call me back. You know my number. See ya.--

“Delete message”

--Message 2; Hi it’s Relen---

“Delete Message. Computer match voice pattern of last deleted message and delete all messages from the answering machine, which matches voice pattern.”

-- 1 message remaining. Playing message. “Hey this is Arctic Fox. Call me back soon, I haven’t heard from you lately. I enjoyed our time together but I would prefer to talk this time if you don’t mind. Anyways call me back. You know my com code. Artic out” --

Heero smiled softly. The man had one assignment with him and they had been friends ever since. Of course they had gone at it the first time and Artic ended up as uke. The relationship wasn’t going to work though because of the fact that both wanted seme, so they just decided to be friends. Heero shrugged picking up his duffle bags and began heading downstairs into the basement. The basement had cement walls with a dirty, gray look to them. There were weight sets in the corner along with various machines for working out. There was a sink at one end and a fridge next to it. “Computer. Voice match Heero Yuy Angel, Wing, 45692 Zero.”

The fridge moved forward a foot then began shifting away from the sink taking a chunk of the cement wall with it. Behind the moving appliance was a doorway that Heero quickly entered taking his duffle bags. The door sealed behind him as he continued down the passageway until after passing several halls it opened up to a large office room. Setting his duffle bags on the table he walked over to another lap top and booted it up. //I will get my information whether Mole wants to give it to me or not.//

“Okay now. Computer, Search program. Information on a person.” The computer began flashing a program up on the screen. “Nationality: Chinese.” Typing rapidly he began to fill out the person information. “Sex: Male. . . Definitely male. Age. . . . Between 17 and at most 20. I’m 19 after all and he looked kind of young. Hair color: black. Eye color: brown. Background activities umm swordsmanship and martial arts. Also separate Chinese from Colonial Chinese.” Hitting enter he leaned. back in his chair. “Time to get to work.”

He began unpacking his duffle bags taking out all the guns he had taken on the trip. Turning he switched the surveillance equipment on of his property to watch for intruders, taking up seven television screens. Grinning to himself he began cleaning the first pistol, barely aware of his slight humming of the song, Puff the Magic Dragon.

//I’m going to find you if it’s the last thing I do//

The small café was not very busy at the moment. Usually it was bustling with the activity of morning people searching for their much needed coffee in the morning before work. Coffee and sweet pastry smells filled the café as the morning progressed along. In the corner booth a teen had been sitting all morning. The rush of the morning had cleared out and he sat their quietly in the corner watching all movement in and outside of the café through the windows. The waitresses had been quite taken with the teen clad in light blue jeans and a skin hugging gray t-shirt. Now they were cleaning up and setting up for the afternoon rush soon to come.

The boy had seemed fidgety the entire time, eyes shifting, knee bouncing up and down as his toe moved rapidly. Every once in a while he would glance at his watch, then resume looking around the room as he sipped nervously at his drink.

Across the room the chime on the door rang as it swung open. A tallish figure entered the room eyes scanning the surroundings. Flashing a smile at the waitress, the man clad in black denim and a charcoal gray turtleneck walked straight back to the booth with the shifty young man in it. Seating himself acrorom rom the figure he tilted his head slightly to the side peering at the boy.

The boy‘s eyes shifted again before leaning forward and whispering, “Welcome Shingami.”

“Nice to see you too Wrath.” Leaning back in his seat he looked around the clean diner seeing a waitress watching him he winked at her. “So what is this all about?”

“It’s not safe any more. I don’t know who’s doing it but the higher ups are trying to off me. I don’t know what to do anymore. Why would they suddenly take out their mediator? It’s like removing the core. It doesn’t work. They’re going to send someone after me soon. I don’t know what to do. For all I know it could be you.”

“Calm down now. How do you know that this mission is going to come to kill you?”

Shakily he stared down into his cold coffee cup. It had been cold for about an hour. “I received a tip from a very reliable source. You wouldn’t know him. Not yet anyways. To make sure I hacked into the data bases of the higher ups. I found that the mission was waiting for me, but it was undecided who was to be assigned to it when I found it.” He looked up into the still face in front of him. “But that is not the worst of it. You see I designed the security system, so they found out that I entered before I could get out meaning they are definitely going to bump the mission up.”

The two sat in silence for a minute staring blankly in the distances. A young waitress came up asking if they would like t have more coffee. The black clad one shook his head. Standing up he switched sides of the table, sitting next to the silent target. He sighed softly wrapping one arm around the boy and pulling him closer. “Wrath. There are two reasons why I will not take that mission. One you contacted me first asking for protection. Therefore I will simply decline to take the mission. Even if they think that I am in cahoots with you because of it. I will not turn you over to them.” Sighing softly he turned the boys face to look at him in the eye. “The second reason, Wrath, is that I love you too much to let you go. “

The tall boy leaned in kissing the targeted boys lips softly and gently. Both closed their eyes at the simple kiss, totally defenseless to each other. Pulling out of the kiss Shingami leaned close next to the boys ear. “I missed you so much Quatre. I’ll never let you go again.”

The blonde boy nodded before kissing the taller boys cheek. “We have to go now. I need to inform you more on the situation. We’re going to have a war of the assassins on our hands.” They both got up and Quatre paid for the tab. Walking out to the parking lot a black motorcycle sat in one of the parking spots.

“I see your car isn’t here. Hop on lover.” The blonde boy jumped onto the back wrapping his arms around Shingami. As the motorcycle roared to life beneath them, leaning up close top the boy’s ear he whispered softly, “I missed you too Duo. I hope we survive this.”

Four hours. The search program had been running for four hours. Heero sat in front of the lap top program still searching through the billions of people if had registered in its databases. So far their were 2 million who fit the criteria and the program was still running. There were only 3,000 Colonial Chinese that fit the possible description. //The Dragon was only a couple inches shorter then me. And he had a finer frame so he probably was colonial Chinese.//

“Computer continue search but only for those whom are Colonial Chinese.” //He had a thinner frame more typical of the Colonial people. Very strosmalsmall and cute.// After the command was complied with he pulled up the initial results. Typing in a quick height range of 5’6 to 5’8” The results were down to 147 profiles. “Time for me to do some searching through each profile.”

Clicking the first picture came onto the screen. “Too fat. No possible way. Next.” *click* “Eeew.” *click* “Nope”. click.

//Damn this is going to take a while.//

10 minutes later he had deleted out 70 people just by looks. But at the same time 40 more possibilities had been found. Heero decided to let the process finish before finding the other possibilities. Getting up from the desk he left the room walking out of the fridge entrance before it sealed and continued his way upstairs.

The house phone rang and he picked it up. “Hello”

“Heero I finally caught you when you were home. How are you?”

“I’m fine Relena. I have to go to work now.”

“Two questions. Where do you work?”

“Around.”

*sigh* “Okay then If I were to ask you would you protect me always?”

“Depends on the benefits. Most likely not. Goodbye.”

Hanging up he plugged in a new number. Sighing he sat down on the couch next to Marshmallow the husky, who flipped over to have his tummy rubbed. The other line picked up.

“Mmm.. Hello?”

Heero’s lips quirked in a small smile. “Enjoying yourself there foxy?”

“Oh Hello Wing! I absolutely am not by myself over here. Ahh!”

“Please don’t tell me your having sex while talking with me.”

“Oooooh. . . Hhhh. . No. Trowa here is ahh. . . Practicing his oral skills while I talk. Unn. . . .. .It’s really quite distracting.”

“Well how long have you been with this Trowa?”

“One month.”

“Well have fun. I have to go.”

“Aaaah. . . Talk to you soon. . .”

Shaking his head Heero put down the phone. “Computer, display news clips on the screen.” The large TV popped to life as it listed the five news clips and times of each occurrence. Deleting the one titled, ‘Murder of John Damson’ He started at the top of the list.

A red haired woman appeared on the screen stiff smile glued in place. “Today major corporate leader Relena Peacecraft has successfully bought another company for her ownership. The new control will cause layoffs world wide of an estimated 1.5 billion workers. This new move will place her in control of 15% of the worlds market and resources. She is third, Quatre Winner is of course still first with 35% followed by the new owner of Chang Enterprises, Wufei Chang with 30%.”

Heero just shook his head. Clicking for the next clip to come up.

“Wufei Chang has a joint contract with Quatre Winner to team up in their push for space colonies around mars. They are hoping that the new colony will allow for further research in space as well as the possibility of mining in the asteroid belt in the future.”

Heero got up from the couch wandering into the kitchen for something to eat as the next clip began to play. “Wufei Chang in his third day as the heir to the Dragon Clan fortune has created new possibilities for cleaning up the unemployment, which Relena Peacecraft’s merger had left. In attempt to fight the large unemployment Wufei Chang released a plan to create jobs for those who had been unemployed by the merger as well as previously unemployed.” Looking into the fridge Heero continued listening to the report. Note to self, find information on Wufei Chang.

The last clip began playing as Heero walked back into the room drink milk out of the carton one eye on the TV. The clip began playing the outside shot of limos pulling up to a building. “Today Relena Peacecraft and Wufei enter their business negotiations. Relena stood waving at the crowd around her and another figure was walking towards the building behind her. A dark haired Asian with his hair pulled back into a tight ponytail. Heero stared at the TV. “Wufei Chang recently returned from a short vacation, although the location is disclosed.” The screen went blank. Heero’s reflection in the screen was shocked at the news report.

“No way.”

************************************************

*THUD* “NO WAY!”

Wufei was on his feet hand s flat on the table where he had hit it minutes ago. Across the table Relena stared at him wide eyed as the echo continued through the fancy meeting room. Relena sighed, “But Mr. Chang, I can not properly run my company when the employees feel that they would better work for you rather then I. The way you continually higher the people that I cast aside from our employment does not help our stocks and it costs you money as well. Your plans are financially unsound.”

“I do not care. I will continue to conduct my business as I see fit. My plans may not be profitable at this moment but I will not sign any contracts with a company that does not car for its employees or their lives, but only for the power, which it can attain. This meeting is over.” He began walking towards the doors when a final question caught his ear.

“So we are to become enemies?”

He pushed open the doors as he walked through he stated, “Such is the nature of business.”

Heero was careening down the passage way to return to the searching computer, running down the stairs his phone rang again.

“Go”

“Mission; Assassination”

//A different voice? A low deep voice.// “Overriding mediator code?”

“Alpha 4 7, Mole, 3 2 6, Wing, Angel, Zero.”

“Clearance positive. Target?”

“In mission package”

“Public or Private?”

“Private.”

“Other information?”

“You will have a partner. Info in message package.”

“Understood”

“Out” The phone went dead. //I’m going to have a partner? The only other time I had a partner was with Artic.//

Shrugging he entered the password in again and returned into the room. Checking his laptop the new mission information had arrived. Downloading started but it would still take sometime. His man hunting program finished and he searched the name Chang, hitting the enter key the room viewing screens on all walls of the round room lit up displaying the profiles.

************************************************

*Bring Bring* A long hand stretched out to grab the phone. Not picking it up yet. Kissing the forehead of the person next to him he left the room silently. Closing the door he opened the phone.

“Go.”

“Mission Assassination.”

“Overriding mediator code.”

“Alpha 4 7, lynx 3 2 6, Panther, Puma, Zero”

“Clearance Positive. Target?”

“In Mission Package.”

“Public or Private?”

“Private”

“Other Info?”

“You will have a partner.”

“Copy that.”

“Out”

Tapping the phone on his chin the man gathered his clothes and left.

****************************************************

Blue eyes studied the screen. Wufei Chang although similar in appearance was not the one he had been looking for. The one he had been looking for had his profile right next to Wufei’s and apparently was his cousin. Tien Chang was his name. All information possible had been found on him. Birth certificates, social security, schools he had gone too. Heero had found his assassin.

The next screen over began displaying all information he would need for his newest assignment now that it had finished downloading. A picture identical to the one next to it was up there. The target had dark eyes and hair drawn tightly back in a pony tail.

Heero scanned over the mission contents. Target: Wufei Chang.

Right now he had to meet up with his partner for the mission. Grabbing a small gun he tucked it into the back of his jeans, shutting down all work in the room before exiting. The door slammed shut as he left the house towards the garage, locking automatically.

Five minutes later, the TV screen popped to life a small recording symbol in it’s corner as ws rws recoding began. It showed a bloody crime scene, “Today is a new set of murders, which have police offers completely baffled. The long sought after Society of Assassins has killed two of its own today, for a reason unknown. One is a 26 year old male and the other is a 23 year old male. This is the first time The Society as attacked their own. The familiar symbol of the eye in the sun is tattooed on the victims bodies as well as being at the crime scene indicating it was their kill. A variety of weapons were used upon them and there is no clue as to whom the murderer is. Back to you in the studio Dave.”

Far away in a dark room two still forms stared at the news report they had just witnessed. Quatre sat silently as Duo gaped at the TV.

A small sigh had escaped the blonde form, “So it has begun. They\'re killing each other.” silently pondering he sat there for five minutes.

“Duo. . . . . Call him. Now”
