Later that evening
“So Heero, what did you do today while you were out with Duo?” Quatre asked over dinner.
“Well first we went…”
Flashback
“AHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WATCH THIS HEERO!!”
The chocolate hair boy closed his eyes and held on to the door with a death grip. “Duo when I die, I want to go like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like all the passengers in his car.”
Duo took his eyes off the road to grin at his partner. “Where are we headed anyway, Heero?”
“Applications.”
“Huh?”
“DUO! ROAD!”
Duo glowered at the gray sedan that had just cut in front of him. “All right, son: roll them guns up, count the money, and put your seat belt on! Why are we filling out applications?”
“Because I hate my job?”
\"Oh, you hate your job? Why didn\'t you say so? There\'s a support
group for that. It\'s called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.\"
“Haha, Duo. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeew. Would you look at that guy?”
Duo glanced quickly to the side to see a man urinating on some graffiti attached to the wall. \"A man will piss on anything, but not his leg.\" He shrugged.
“Duo that’s disgusting. There are some things a man, no matter how desperate he might be, should just NOT do.\"
“Hey man, that’s not my problem. You t set see me doing it now do you?”
Heero shakily pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and fumbled for a lighter.
“Oh and Heero?”
“Nani?”
“Smoking kills. If you\'re killed, you\'ve lost a very important part of your life.”
“Yeah right Duo. This coming from the God of Death?”
The boy snickered and wove the car into a screeching Ace Ventura ‘like ove’ove’ park. “We’re here!” he sang.
“In pieces.” Heero mumbled, focusing on peeling his fingers off of doo door handle. He looked at it. That would definitely need to be fixed now. It looked slightly bent. He raised his voice to be heard over the now squeaking door. “You’re a menace, you know that?”
“Hey that’s great driving! There\'s only one thing to do at a moment like this... strut!\"
End flashback
“What happened with the new job?”
Heero sighed. “I filled out an application that said, \"In Case of Emergency Notify\" I wrote \"Doctor\"... Then I asked What\'s my mother going to do?” He sighed again. “So they told me that I was a nutcase and to get out. Duo laughed.”
Duo flounced into the room. “What’s for dinner?”
Quatre looked away from Heero.izzaizza.”
Wufei appeared behind Duo. “And, now, we continue the legacy of eating pizza without burning the roof of your mouth.”
“Shut up ‘Fei.”
