PART 2

Virg started up the Guardian and headed out of the hanger. She plugged her laptop into the side of the computer in the cockpit. She pressed ‘enter’ on the laptop. A little screen popped up on her glasses. It showed entry points of the base from the outside.
“Hmm.. Well Guardian, which door do you want to go in?” Virg said. “No. It doesn’t bother me! Remember, we have stealth, they wont find us on radar.”

Virg entered the base through the ventilation system. She crawled through the vent shafts, above the hallways, pausing every time soldiers walked past, so that they wouldn’t hear her. She found her way to one of the empty dormitories. She slid through the vent shaft, and into the room, pouncing onto the floor without a sound. She looked around more carefully to check no one was there, then headed for the door and locked it.

Virg sat her backpack on a table next to the communication monitor, which was next to the door. She unpacked her laptop and opened it up on the table. Then pulled out her glasses, which she used while piloting the Guardian. She put them on and plugged them into the laptop.

‘Hmm.. let’s see..’ she thought to herself.
The little screen popped up on the glasses. On it were floor plans of the base.
‘Gotta find the main reactor’ she thought to herself.
‘Okay, if I got through here, then there, an explosive there.. okay, here goes!’
She then unplugged the glasses. She plugged the laptop into the visual communicator on the wall. The laptop screen lit up. A little screen popped up. ‘Launch Guardian program’ She typed and pressed enter.
A timer popped up on the screen and began counting down from 20 minutes. Virg left the laptop there and headed back through the vent shaft, passing room by room, loading explosives all around the base. On her gls was was a timer still counting down, sinchronised with the timer on the laptop.
‘Good, 4 minutes left. Now I just have to get out of here,’ she thought. Virg headed back to the dorm where her laptop was left behind. Entering the room she saw the laptop had 5 seconds left. ‘4..3..2..1.. Launching program.’

The lights went out and the red emergency lights turned on. The view screen next to the door lit up. On it was white letters that spelt ‘Guardian Angel’, flashing on and off. The warning sirens started and soldiers could be heard running through the hallways.

“What’s going on!?”
“The guardian has returned! Spread out and find him!” Virg heard the soldiers and shook her head.
‘Why do they always think I’m a guy? Don’t they think a girl can play mind games like this?’ Well I guess they’ll never find mVirgVirg thought to herself. She headed back out to the Guardian. As she was leaving, She pressed the detonation button. Within seconds, explosions could be seen and the base was destroyed.
‘Damn I’m good!’ Virg thought to herself.

Virg turned and started heading back towards the peace million. A voice could be heard over the radio.
“Why did you come out here?” said the voice. It was Heero. Heero came up on the view screen, his eyes small and glg atg at Virg.
“I wanted to gain your trust. So you knew I wasn’t an enemy, and to show you that I really am the Guardian Angel.” She said, her voice showing a.
“.
“The Guardian died 2 years ago.” Heero said in his emotionless voice.
“I beg to differ Heero, otherwise I wouldn’t be here,” Virg replied. She terminated the transmission and headed back to the peace million.

It had been 2 weeks since Virg blew up Zech’s base. Wufei left the peace million to fight his own battles, while Heero left and returned constantly, accepting only missions that involved him fighting on his own.

Virg and Duo were in the hanger, sitting on the open hatch of the Deathsythe. They were crowded around Duo’s laptop, which was connected to Virg’s. In the past 2 weeks, they’d been on missions together, fucking each other, and that made their friendship stronger.

Duo leaned towards Virg with a cheeky smile on his face.
“We’re good together. You’re like a female version of me!” Duo whispered in her ear, knowing that Quatre was in the Sandrock, right next to the Deathsythe.
“Not in front of the others.” Virg whispered backkingking Duo in his side. He jolted slightly and grabbed Virg’s hands to stop her poking him again. They began laughing. Quatre came out of the cockpit of the Sandrock and looked at the two of them laughing and playing like little kids.
‘They’re so cute together’ he thought to himself. ‘Good thing Wufei’s not around, or else he’d call them weak.’ He giggled toselfself and realized he’d giggled loud enough for Virg and Duo to hear. He covered his mouth as he saw Virg and Duo had stopped laughing and turned to face Quatre.
‘Oops!’ Quatre thought, and went back inside the cockpit.
Virg and Duo looked back at each other and began laughing again. Duo was still holding Virg’s hands and let go to wipe a tear from his laughter.

Howard stood with Dr J at the base of the Guardian, still running tests.
“It’s good to hear laughter for once. I haven’t heard any of those pilots laugh before.” rd srd said to Dr J, still looking at Duo and Virg up on the hatch.
“It’s good to see our pilots in good spirits, but for those two, I can’t decide if it’s a weakness or an advanthavihaving a bond so strong.” Dr J replied.
“Hn. We’ll see when the battle comes.” Howard replied.

The Wing Zero had returned from another mission. Heero had been gone for week this time. He stood the Wing Zero next to the Guardian and jumped down to talk to the scientists.

“How’d it go Heero? Any problems?” Asked Howar“It “It needs to be refueled. I’m going to head out again tomorrow. Treis is in space and now seems like the best time to assassinate him.” Heero replied. He looked around the room. He saw Virg, Duo and Quatre crowding around the main computer. He saw Duo’s hand on Virg’s shoulder. Virg looked up at Duo and put her hand on his. Quatre was leaning on the computer in front of them, so he couldn’t see Virg and Duo holding each other’s hands.
“Hn..” Heero grunted. He squinted and crossed his arms.
“I might need someone to back me up on this mission. Maybe Duo. I need someone stealthy. To get past the security.” Heero said to the scientists.
“Duo’s going on a mission out near L2 tonight. He’s meeting Hilde tonight. She’s got information to help him with his mission”. Dr J replied. He looked at Duo and Virg holding hands. “Take her. You two need to get re-acquainted. It’s been so long..” Dr J rifted off.
o opo opened his eyes again and looked at Dr J.
“What do you mean re-acquainted? Have I met her before?” Heero asked.

“This is where Hilde said to meet,” Duo said and pointed to the map on the screen.
“Good luck. And tell her I said hi.” Quatre said.
“I gotta meet this girl, Duo. She seems like a handy person to have around. How did she get this information?” Virg asked.
“I don’t know how she does it! I think my stealthyness is catchy!” Deplieplied. “Anyway, I better pack up and go. It’s going to a w a while to get to L2.” Duo smiled at Virg.
“Go. But don’t be gone too long!” Virg whispered.
Quatre rolled his eyes. “You two.. I swear..”
Duo turned and headed towards his gundam. “Hi Heero,” He said. Then he looked at Howard. “I’m heading off now. Is everything ready?”
Howard readjusted his glasses. “Sure is Duo. Good luck.”

Duo got inside the cockpit and started up the Deathsythe. He began remembering a conversation he’d had with Virg a few nights earlier.

They were lying together in bed. Duo had his arm draped over Virg’s shoulder, and she had her head on his chest, hearing his heartbeat.
“So, how long have you known Hilde?” Virg asked.
“I met her this year. Hehe. She was an OZ soldier at first.”
“Anything happen between you two?”
“We got pretty close for a while, but she kept endangering herself by sticking her neck out to get information and supplied for me. I told her that I didn’t want her to lose her life for me. She loved me so much, she kept risking everything for me. I told her it had to stop. Then I left her.”
Virg opened her eyes and looked up at Duo.
“Would you get back with her? Do you still love her Duo?” Virg asked.
Duo looked into her big green eyes and smiled.
“Not if it means losing you.” Duo said. He leaned down and kissed Virg. Virg pulled back.
“You don’t have to deny yourself her love because of me. Being a freedom fighter means we could all die at any moment. Don’t give up love because of me.” Virg said. She closed her eyes and sat up on the side of the bed.
Duo looked at her bare back ad saw scars from battles, and possibly torture. He sat up behind Virg and hugged her from behind.
“Don’t think like that. I love you Virg. Even if I did get back with Hilde, You’d still be in my heart.” He said then kissed the back of her shoulder.

Duo shook his head to get the memory out of his head. ‘Don’t worry Virg, you don’t have to worry about being forgotten.’ Duo thought to himself, then headed out into space.

Dr J walked up towards Virg, the other four scientists behind him.
“Come Virg, we want to talk to you about your past again,” He said. He put his arm around her to lead her towards the rec room.
“I told you. I don’t remember anything, only that boy. But I cant see his face,” she replied.
The six of them headed towards the rec room and sat around the table. Virg sat on the edge of the billiard table. It seemed to br far favorite spot to sit.
Virg looked down and began speaking.
“Like I said. I only really remember you guys standing around as I left for the last time on the test run. I remember a boy behind the door, peeking through the door. He..” She drifted off.
“What is it child?” Dr G asked.
“Nothing. It’s something about that boy. I cant see his face though. But I keep getting these dreams where I’m with that boy. I learned to shoot, and fight with him. He was always there.” She continued. She put her head in her hands. “I just can’t remember his face!!” she screamed. “Who was he? Tell me! I know you know!” She screamed.
The scientists all looked at each other. It was as if they all knew what each one was thinking.
“Don’t get angry child. It’ll all come back to you soon. In the mean time you’re to go on a mission with Heero. Treis is in space and you must go assassinate him.”

At that moment Heero walked into the room. Virg got up and turned around to see him walk in.
“Why me?” she asked.
“I need someone stealthy to get past security. Duo’s gone on another mission.” Duo said
Virg sighed. “Fine.” She muttered. “When do we leave?” she asked. She and Heero didn’t get along well at all. She wanted to be friends with him, but she felt that he didn’t want anything to do with her. This time she saw something in Heero’s eyes. She didn’t feel that uncomfortable presence she usually feels when he’s around. ‘What could it be?’ she thought to herself.

“Come,” Heero waved his hand, leading her to the door. “I’ll fill you in about the mission.”
Virg lifted one eyebrow. ‘Maybe he’s cracked,’ she thought.

* * * * * * *

Heero and Virg were on a shuttle on the way to their next mission.
Heero took the controls and stopped the shuttle.
“Time to do your stuff,” He said.
“Okay.” Virg replied. She noticed that Heero has a bit of enthusiasm in his voice. ‘What’s going on with Heero?’ she thought to herself. ‘What happened to the cold and emotionless voice I always hear?’

The mission was a flop. Treis had too many mobile dolls surrounding the base. Treis seemed to anticipate that there would be gundam pilots trying to assassinate him.
“What the hell was that?” Virg yelled, harnessing herself into her Guardian. Heero was still floating into his Gundam and starting it up.
We’ve got to go. If we stay and fight, we’ll be destroyed. There’s too many dolls for us tndlendle.” Heero yelled back. It was hard to hear because of the explosions around them.
“OH! I hate retreating! It makes me feel like I’m not strong enough to fight this war!!” Virg screamed angrily.
“No time to complain! Lets go!” Heero yelled, and they were off.

Virg and Heero rejoined the shuttle they’d left behind so that it was out of the base’s range. They loaded the mobile suits into the hanger, and returned to the cockpit.
“Bloody hell! I hate it when they win!” Virg yelled, stamping her foot, forgetting that they were still in space and began to float.
“Forget it Virg. There’s always next time.” Heero assured her.
Virg lifted one eyebrow again.
“Well, at least we got some exercise.” Virg giggled.
Heero turned around and saw Virg getting out of her space suit. She had her tight black top on and her black pants underneath.
“Virg..” Heero began. “Have you ever had sex in zero gravity?” He got out of the chair and faced Virg.
She lifted one eyebrow again.

“No.. Why?” She was wondering what possessed the perfect soldier to ask.
Heero didn’t say a word, but floated to Virg and held her face. They both looked into each other’s eyes. Heero looked so calm and collected. Heero noticed the confusion in Virg’s expression.
He closed his eyes and kissed her.

Virg moaned slightly and then returned the kiss. She could feel Heero’s tongue in her mouth and massaged it with her own. Heero’s hands moved from her face to her waist. She could feel his hands going under her shirt, rubbing her stomach, then moving up to her breast. The other hand was pulling her top up slowly. Within seconds, he’d taken her top off, exposing her black bra. Heero bent down and kissed her chest, above the bra. She gasped at the feeling of Heero’s warm lips on her cold skin. She began unzipping the space suit Heero was still wearing. Expecting to see the green singlet underneath, Virg was surprised that Heero was topless underneath the space suit. ‘I wonder if he’s without his shorts too’ she thought to herself.

Within minute, both were naked and holding onto each other. They’d moved to the hanger and were floating in mid air, above the Wing Zero and Guardian.

“Are you ready?” Heero whispered. His breath was getting stronger. Virg nodded. Virg had her legs around Heero’s waist. Her body was flushing hot and cold. She could feel Heero insert himself into Virg. Virg gasped as he inserted himself. They’re hips began to rock slowly at first. They had to hold onto each other tightly so they wouldn’t float away. They were floating around the room, when they bumped into the handrails that led the staircase from the cockpit to the hanger. Virg grabbed the bar with one hand and held onto Heero’s shoulder with the other. Heero also grabbed the bar, right next to Virg’s hand, and had his other hand on her hips. They pushed their hips together, back and forth. Heero could feel his heart racing. ‘This is an amazing feeling!’ he thought to himself.
Virg could feel Heero inside her, moving back and forth, never wanting it to stop.

“Heero..” she whispered. She felt like she was going to scream with ecstasy. Virg bit her lip as the feelings got stronger. Heero heard her call his name and began to push harder, stronger, also not wanting it to end.

Heero began to feel the rumbling in his stomach, regretting that it was going to end soon. Heero tried to hold it back, but he couldn’t. He let his load into Virg, gasping then biting his lip. He could feel his body shudder as he let his load into Virg. Virg felt Heero’s load inside her and screamed in ecstasy. Her body also shuddered, then felt limp. Heero lowered his head and lightly bit Virg on the shoulderrg’srg’s body felt limp. She kissed Heero on the forehead.

“Now we both can say we’ve had sex in zero gravity.” Virg whispered with whatever strength she had left.
They held onto each other for a while, gaining their strength back. Virg then pushed her hips back to get Heero out of her. She floated to the cockpit and began getting dressed. She stood in the doorway to the cockpit, looking down to Heero who was following her up the staircase.

“What happened to you on your last mission? I thought you didn’t trust me? Now all of a sudden you’re talking to me with more emotion in your voice than you do with Relena.” Virg asked, turning around to pick up her top.

Heero bent down and picked up his shorts.
“Nothing. It was when I got back.” He began putting his shorts on. He noticed the scars on Virg’s back. “It was something the scientists told me when I got back,” he said.
“What did they say?” Virg asked, putting her top back on.

“When I got back, Dr J said I should get re-aquatinted with you again. I asked them what they meant when they said ‘again’. They told me that before operation meteor, they all joined together and began building the guardian to fight OZ. They’d found me on the streets, at about aged 5, roaming alone on one of the colonies. Dr J and the others took me in and began training me. A few weeks later, Dr G was walking along the street and saw a small girl, about the same age walking down the street. She walked past an Oz soldier who was standing on the side of the street, patrolling. Knowing she was no match for the soldier, she walked up to him and kicked him in the shin as hard as she could. ‘OZ is bad!’ the little girl screamed. The soldier was ready to hit her but Dr G intervened. He was touched at how the little orphan faced that soldier, with no chance of winning, and took her in. The little boy and girl grew up together, learning to fight, hack and pilot together. They’d become close friends, telling each other everything..” Heero paused.

He looked into Virg’s big green eyes and saw how they began to water. She was trying to hold back the tears. He closed his eyes and continued.

“The scientists told me how after about 10 years of training, they had finally built 2 suits; the Wing Zero and the Guardian. Each was built differently to see which model would be used in the future. The decided to test out the Guardian first..” Heero paused. He saw the look on Virg’s face. She knew what Heero was going to say next.

“They’d decided you were to pilot the Guardian, and I was to pilot the Wing Zero. The scientists gave you your instructions, then you were off. They also told me that after they told me you had been destroyed, that I had broken down. I didn’t speak or eat for days, not paying attention to the world around me. They’d told me that that’s the reason why I should keep all emotions to myself; to keep them hidden; that it was a weakness to be emotionally attached to someone, and that it could get me killed. The scientist then split up and operation meteor began. They told me that since then, I had gone from being a very open and loving person, almost like Duo, to an emotionless machine. I never spoke of you again, as if I never remembered anything before that time. They were right. I don’t remember. The memories come back in my dreams, but I thought that they were only dreams. Do you remember anything about our past Virg?” Heero’s voice became croaky. Virg noticed how his eyes were about to water. This isn’t what she’d expected to come out of the perfect soldier.

Virg wiped her eyes and then moved closer to Heero. She held his face with her hands, wiping his tears with her thumb.
“I’ts going to be okay Heero,” She cried. She moved in and kissed Heero passionately.
They hugged each other for what felt like an eternity.
Virg moved back slowly.

“I rememb a b a boy, but I didn’t see his face. Now I know it was you. I’ve found my past at last Heero.” Virg said. Her voice was croaky from crying.

Heero wiped away his tears and headed for the controls in the cockpit.
“We’ll be back at the peace million in 5 minutes.” He said. He tried to get his voice back to the ‘normal’ emotionless tone he always used.
Virg nodded.
“I understand Heero.. Not a word.” She replied. It was as if she knew he wouldn’t want any of the pilots to know about their past.

* * * *

“How’d the mission go?” Howard asked as Virg and Heero stepped out of the shuttle.
“Flop,” Virg explained. “They knew we were coming!”
Heero nodded. He continued walking towards the grey door. He passed Trowa and Quatre who were in the rec room.
“Hey Heero!!” Quatre yelled, but it was too late, Heero had passed through the door. Quatre turned to Trowa.
“Is he ignoring us?” Quatre asked.
“Maybe it didn’t go so well,” Trowa said, shrugging his shoulders.

Heero headed for his dorm. He had a lot on his mind. He and Virg now knew about their past, and he showed Virg a side of him he hadn’t shown since Virg disappeared.. or so the scientists said.
Heero entered his room and locked the door. He flopped down on his bed. He put his hands behind his head and just stared at the roof.
‘What’s wrong with me?’ he thought to himself.

Virg was still in the hanger with Howard.
“Any damage?” Howard asked.
“A little bit. The ankle on my Guardian could use a fix. We’re lucky we even got away. Even Zech’s doesn’t use that many dolls.” Virg replied.
“Ah well, better luck next time Virg,” Howard said. “Let me and the mechanics fix everything. Go and get some rest. I think you pilots should rest as much as possible between battles.”
“How’s Duo been going? Not back yet?” Virg asked.
Howard shook his head. “Wont be back for a while..” He said.

Virg nodded and headed for the dorms. She passed the rec room and saw Quatre and Trowa sitting, watching the news.
“Anything on the news?” virg asked, sticking her head in the doorway.
Trowa and Quatre turned around.
“Nothing.. except your attempt at assasinating Treis,” Trowa said.
Virg groaned.
“Don’t worry, they didn’t show you or Heero,” Quatre reassured Virg.
“How embarrassing..” Virg yelled, and left the rec room. She figured Heero would be in his dorm. A lot had happened during that mission; Embarrassment, sex and their past.

“Heero? Are you In there?” Virg asked, reaching Heero’s dorm. She knocked, but no answer. The door didn’t open because it had been locked from the inside. Virg hacked the locking code and opened the door. She saw Heero on the bed, laying on his back, staring up at the roof.
“Waste of time.. locking the door,” Heero said. Virg locked the door behind her.
“I only bothered hacking it so I could talk to you. Any of the others wouldn’t have bothered,” Virg said. She began walking towards the bed.
“Heero.. do you feel any different now?” She sat on the bed next to him.

“This changes everything. I thought I was the perfect soldier, but now.. what am I?” He asked. Virg lay down beside him. She put one arm around his waist, and the other held her head up, elbow digging into the pillow.
“You don’t have to show the ‘new’ you to anyone. But I wouldn’t mind seeing this side of you more often. Just show it when no one else is around.” Virg said. She lifted his shirt slightly and played with Heero’s bellybutton with her finger.
Heero smiled.

“Only for you Virg,” Heero whispered. He put his hand on her shoulder, pushing her back onto the bed. He leaned over her and kissed her. Virg ran her hand through his hair. Virg managed to mumble Heero’s name as his tongue entered her mouth.
Virg closed her eyes, then suddenly got a flash of her and Duo sitting together on the hatch of the Deathsythe.
“We’re good together..” she could hear Duo’s voice in her head. Virg pulled back from Heero, ending their passionate kiss.

Heero looked at Virg in confusion. Virg pushed Heero off her, and sat up on the side of he bed.
“What’s wrong?” Heero asked. He put one hand on Virg’s shoulder. She shrugged his hand off her shoulder and walked to the door.
“Nothing’s wrong..” she muttered, still looking at the door. “Except me..” She opened the door and left.
Heero got up to follow her, but Virg closed the door behind her. The Japanese pilot stopped at the door and placed the palm of his hand on it. Then leaned his forehead against the cold hard door.
“What’s wrong with me!” Heero muttered to himself.
