Scene Twenty
"Did you have to be there while I dress?" Said En, who did not try and suppress the annoyance in her tone. She was now back to her usual armour, a black armour plates with brown stomach, waist and back guard, with a dark purple spandex below donned with white boots, completed with black armour plated gloves with brown rinding and the scouter with the raspberry coloured monitor latched securely on her ear.

"Your latest actions gave me no reason to trust you, just be glad that I had my back to you, I'm this close to treating you like a hostage." Said Seripa, keeping her eyes on En from the front while making sure En was walking in a reasonable pace.

"You may as well shackle me then, what diffrence does it make?" Said En, who then ducked down and did a few short shifting or her horizontal guarding positions in front of Seripa before continuing to walk.

"That was faker than a dead rat on a stick." Said Seripa, her patience wearing thin as she tried to retain her cool.

"What gave that away, your precious scouter?" En spoke curtly as she whipped around and stopped in front of Seripa.

"Keep moving." Said Seripa, who also stopped and stared back at En, she blinked casually as she waited for En to continue.

En remained in her tracks, she did not lower herserlf to a fighting position but the standing stance was aggressive enought to be interpreted as a challenge despite their height differences.

Remaining poker-faced, Seripa stretched her hand out and ruffled En's hair. With a teeth flaring grimace, En snapped her hand onto Seripa's arm, pulled it downwards and raised her knee to Seripa's stomach, to which Seripa blocked in the last milliseconds with her other hand. Seripa then tightened her grips on both areas, levitated and spun around in midair. Before En could decipher her next move, Seripa had her arms in a lock and landed heavily on her back with a slam.

"Get off me!" Yelled En as she struggled to wriggle out to and Seripa dismounted her, by the time she stood up she realised that her arms were tied behind her back with of all things, her own tail. With each attempt to pull her arms out of the unlikely knot, it only further tightened the lock as well as adding strain to her furry appendage, which is now becoming raw with each uncomfortable friction being added to it.

"If you keep up with that it will break before you pull both your arms out, without outside help your only way is to blow up your tail while injuring your hands in the process." Said Seripa, not making any effort to conceal the smugness in her tone.

"What's going on?" Spoke a familiar voice from around the corner.

Bardock! En thought and stood up straight with her back facing the hallway.

When he and Toma appeared from behind the corner, En could only muster all her will power to face him, failing to do that in split second, she chose to focus between his eyes, anywhere but the eyes.

"Seripa, En, we have a mission at planet Hsin Hoy tomorrow, the deadline is two weeks, report to the space pod quarter at 0700, estimated length of travel is 36 hours and that time of travel is included within the deadline, we start attacking as soon as we land. I will see you all tomorrow, understood?"

"Understood." Said both En and Seripa.

Bardock walked past both of them without another word whereas Toma eyed En for a second before shaking his head with disgust and followed after him.

En felt her stomach sink as she eyed them both farewell. Before Seripa gave the orders, she started walking ahead, with each step she felt she was further away from Bardock's trust.

Seripa walked a casual distance behind her for she knew that En would not be in a mind to escape anymore now that the encounter has already happened. When they walk passed the training room, Seripa called out to her.

"Stop, let's do a bit of sparring." Said Seripa, with her hands casually on her hips.

"We just got back from a mission, there's a new mission tomorrow and you want to spar NOW?" Said En, who tried to pull her arms again out of the knot and winced from the pain.

"I can definitely tell that you need a lot of touch ups with your skills, come on it'll be good for the both of us." Said Seripa as she pressed a few buttons on the side of the door to gain entry to the room.

En followed Seripa into the room, it has come a long way since her first arrival to this station, the walls are more or less dented despite the repairwork and the floors have been rubbed to a muted brown from its previous maroon colour. At least it doesn't smell like sweat and blood, not just yet anyways. Thought En.

With the door closed behind them, Seripa went up behind En and untied her hands with ease. En pulled her arms out and noticed that her wrists were raw with purple bruising already, her tail was taking a bit of time to adjust being free again as she lashed it out in annoyance, feeling some dulling pain in the joints.

"Ready when you are." Said Seripa.

"Huh?" Before En could realise what was happening, Seripa delivered a heavy punch to her stomach. Getting winded did not add to her advantage as she bent over immediately from the agony. Without waiting for her to recover, Seripa delivered a roundhouse kick to her temple which knocked En to the ground.

"What's the matter? You going to wait for all the pain to go away before I strike again? I expected better from you!" Said Seripa as she picked En up by the black armour plate in front just below her collarbone and packed a punch to her eye. En couldn't even yell out because she was still out of breath from the earlier punch to the stomach, her eyes could see nothing but white flashes from the previous kick.

"You should be ashamed of letting your team down, letting us worried like that because when you do, you're letting yourself down!" Yelled Seripa as she socked a few more to her stomach, not giving En any chance to retort, not that she was in the state to anyhow. When En bent over once again, Seripa pulled her up and said. "Stand up and face me! What have you got to say for yourself?! Have you no pride? Answer me!"

When she could not get any answer from a breathless En, Seripa grabbed her face with both hands and yelled.

"I expected greater from you, you have any idea how hard it is trying to make sure these two men don't kill themselves well before their time? They may have the muscles and experience but as soon as it's touch down on landing on another planet it's hard enough to pull their egoes out of their asses as it is, let alone convincing them to calm down and actually plan a tactic and formation. And you, going around blowing things up on a solo job isn't helping!"

When she managed to pull the pent-up thoughts from her heart to her lungs and finally expelling it out on a warbling tone, Seripa had to resort to gritting her teeth hard to prevent her voice from breaking even further.

She held En's bruised face in her hands for a while, giving both herself time to calm down and En to finally recover her breath while staring back at her with murky eyes, like she did not recognise who Seripa was at that moment.

"I just can't believe that after all these years, I've had to resort to treating you like one of the boys to get you to even listen to what I have to say, you have any idea how this disappoints me?" Spoke Seripa once again as she brushed the bang away from En's left eye and tucked it behind her ear.

"You have all the brains kiddo, and you're throwing it all away." Said Seripa as she searched for answers from En's shocked eyes.

En remained silent despite her breathing pattern have recovered to a normal pace, her mouth slightly open but no words could be spilled out.

"Don't make me resort to this again En, you're better than that, Hell, you may even become a captain yourself one day when we're no longer around." Spoke Seripa as she finally let go of En's face and placed her hands firmly on her shoulder.

"I'll take you to the medical room." Said Seripa, she turned around and exited through the door, knowing that En would follow after her. En walked behind her slowly, still trying to make sense of what she had just heard.
