Summary: The Bladebreakers have a new member. But what does this mean for Kai and Rei\'s relationship? And what secrets does he have to hide? Lemon in other chapters. KaixRei, ReixOC, with a dash of TysonxMax.

SoulSister: Haven\'t got any lemons planned in the near future... but i\'ll see what i can do. Yup, this will be a KaixRei, though TysonxMax will still be there to pace the story.

trueangel: *shoves Kai and Rei away* Sheesh...

Max: You shouldn\'t be so mean to them, after all they\'re just lovers.

Tyson: Yeah, you\'re right, my little Maxy-kins. *giggle*

Max: Aww, my little Ty-Ty. (for those acquainted with Chinese or Singlish, lol) *giggle*

trueangel: *shoves Tyson and Max off* Can\'t an author introduce a new character in peace...

Kenny: I\'d help, if you gave me a lemon...

trueangel: *shoves a lemown Kwn Kenny\'s throat* Get lost!!!

Kenny: *rushes for the nearest sink as he chokes on the lemon*

trueangel: Anyway, where was I... oh yes, introducing... *drumroll* *Xan enters* ...Xan! (duh.) Xan, would you like to introduce yourself?

Xan: My name is Xan (we know that already...), I am 15, height 1.65m, I have silver hair, grey eyes, my \"uniform\" is a plain white T-shirt, light blue jeans, silver belt, light grey shoes with streaks of black, and a black leather biker\'s jacket with streaks of silver like on a tiger. My strong points are than I am humble, and...

trueangel: *shoves Xan off* Erm... you *really* should be preparing for your entrance later... *hastily makes a few changes to Xan\'s character*

Tyson: *screams from offstage* Can we have breakfast yet?

trueangel: Well I need someone to do the disclaimer.

Tyson: trueangel does not own Beyblade and i\'m glad cos the BBA feeds me way better than he does!

trueangel: *rolls eyes* Let\'s begin.

Chapter 3: The New Member

Rei put his hand around Kai\'s waist as they walked down the stairs for breakfast. Feelin playful, Rei poked Kai in the ribs. Kai giggled as he returned the same treatment to Rei. Soon, the both of them burst into fits of giggling. However, they stopped and stared as they walked into the dining room.

Holding Dizzi in his hand, Kenny walked towards the dining room, hungry for breakfast. As he turned around a corner, he bumped into Kai, who was standing dumbfounded at the entrance.

\"Ouch! Kai, why... TYSON!!!\" Kenny screamed.

Even Max could only grin embarassedly at the antics of his boyfriend.

\"You ordered EVERY single thing on the room service menu!\" Kenny continued raving.

\"Wharblt?\" Tyson said, looking up from his food. Or at least, tried to say, with the piece of bacon stuffed in his mouth.

Kenny gave up and sighed. \"I don\'t think five people could EVER finish this.\"

Kenny heard a hearty voice behind him say, \"Well, maybe three more people could help.\"

\"Mr. Dickenson! Grampa!\" Tyson said, after swallowing his bacon.\"Erm, who\'s that guy over there?\"

Kai looked at Rei. He was ogling and smiling at the new kid, who had silver hair and grey eyes. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt, light blue jeans, a silver belt, light grey shoes with streaks of black, and a black leather biker\'s jacket with streaks of silver like on a tiger. (Yes, this is pretty much cut-and-paste.) Kai felt a vague sense of familiarity towards this young kid, but at the same time he got a sickening sense of foreboding looking at Rei\'s reaction.

\"Bladebreakers, let me introduce you to Xan. He was the winner of the Japan Championship after you guys went off for the world championship. From what I have seen, he\'s a very good blader, and I think he will be an invaluable addition to your team,\" explained Mr. Dickenson.

\"Hmph. Lucky punk,\" said Kai to himself.

Xan looked at Kai shyly and lowered his head.

\"Oh, don \'t mind him, that\'s Kai,\" said Rei. \"He doesn\'t like strangers much.\" (Erm, Kai is starting to sound like a dog or some domestic pet here...)

\"I thought letting him tag you guys would be a good way to let him familiarise himself to beyblading on an international level. And by the way, I signed you guys up for an exhibition tournament that will be held in France in a couple of months. I thought it would be a good source of experience,\" said Mr. Dickenson, while glancing at Kai.

Kai opened his mouth to say something, but Tyson cut him short.

\"Aww, Kai, do we have to start training today?\"

\"Yeah, Kai,\" added Rei. \"Let Xan get to know us first.\"

Kai couldn\'t resist Rei\'s pleading. He gave in.

\"Training starts tomorrow.\"

\"Come on, Xan!\" Rei said, grabbing Xan\'s hand. \"I\'ll show you around!\" With that, Rei tugged Xan out of the room.

\"I\'ll be in my room,\" Kai stated, before leaving as well.

\"Well, let\'s get back to breakfast, shall we?\" asked Tyson\'s grandfather.

trueangel: There! Xan\'s in!

Xan: *grins shyly*

Rei: That\'s trueangel. He\'s the author of this fic. Hey! Breakfast\'s over, let\'s go find the others. *tugs Xan off*

trueangel: Ok, back to the fic...

Xan and Rei stood in front of two doors on the first floor.

\"Kai and I share the upstairs bedroom. Kai probably is in the room, we\'ll leave him alone. The room on the left is shared by Max and Tyson, but they\'re not inside right now. The bedroom on the right is taken by Kenny, I think you\'ll be sharing his room. Kenny is not really a member of the team, but he does lotsa things for us, like upgrading our blades and providing with the latest info on other beybladers and their blades. That\'s why we call him \'Chief\'. Come on, let\'s go in and say hi!\" Rei then went into the room after Xan.

\"Rei! I fixed your blade for you. I also made a few upgrades.\"

Rei nodded as he took his blade back. It had been slightly damaged from the battle before, and Rei had passed it to Kenny (somehow, at some point in time) for repairs.

\"Hi!\" Kenny greeted. \"You must be Xan. I\'m Kenny, the...\"

\"Chief, I already told Xan about you.\"

\"Oh, thanks. By the way, Xan, could I take a look at your beyblade? I just want to get its stats down.\"

Xan nodded as he passed a silver beyblade to Kenny.

\"Hmm... interesting feature... your bit beast is Dreamer, I see...\" Kenny muttered to himself. \"Here, you can have it back.\"

Xan took back the silver blade and put it into his pocket. But Rei had been too absorbed in his own Driger\'s upgrades to notice the transaction.

\"Done, Xan? Come, let\'s go find Max and Tyson.\"

trueangel: *to self* Ooh, coincidences...

Xan and Rei walked out to the park that was just in front of their unit.

\"That park is where we train. There are quite a number of beyblade dishes there, so many other bladers go there as well. But we leave the rookie players alone. Usually, we just battle among ourselves. Hey, there\'s Tyson and Max! I\'ll go say hi.\"

Rei ran down a slope to reach where Tyson and Max were battling. Xan struggled to catch up.

\"Max is that blonde boy over there in green, while Tyson is the one wearing a baseball cap. You\'ll get to know them better over the next few days, but I\'ll tell you a few things: Max can be very hyper at times, while Tyson is obsessed with food. Oh look, Max won. Let\'s go tal the them.\"

Rei walkd towards Tyson and Max, while Xan followed him.

\"Hi Rei, hi Xan!\" greeted Tyson. \"Got any food? I feel hungry.\"

\"What? You just ate a giganti-normous breakfast, Tyson,\" replied Max. \"Hey, why don\'t we battle again?\"

\"Guys, why don\'t you battle with Xan?\" asked Rei. \"You could get to know each other\'s style better.\"

\"Umm, I think I\'ll just watch this one,\" said Xan. (FINALLY!!! He said something!)

\"Ok, have fun! I\'ll go see what Kai is up to,\" said Rei. He then turned around to head back.

Rei: *wipes sweat* Finally got rid of Xan...

trueangel: Hey, Xan isn\'t that bad.

Rei: Yeah, well you\'re his creator. Anyway, these interruptions are distracting.

trueangel: Fine... back to the fic...

Rei had barely closed the door of their room when he was confronted by Kai.

\"Where\'s the newbie?\"

\"He\'s with Tyson and Max. Really, Kai, you should be nicer to him.\"

\"Yeah, well I see you\'re pretty nice to him,\" retorted Kai, tone dripping with sarcasm.

\"What\'s the problem, Kai?\"

\"What\'s the problem? You\'re the fucking problem! You were staring at him! You were smiling like an idiot! You were heads-over-fuckin\'-heels obsessed with him!\" Kai screamed. n unn unnerving silence ensued. Finally, Rei broke tneasneasiness.

\"Ok, I admit - Xan is cute. If you didn\'t exist, he would probably be my boyfriend.\"

\"So now what? You want me out of the picture?\"

\"Kai...\" Rei sighed in exasperation. \"I didn\'t mean that. I meant that even though Xan is cute, no one can beat my Kai.\"

Kai\'s gaze softened.

\"Kai, you know that I would never love anyone else besides you. I\'m sorry, this will never happen again.\"

\"You\'re forgiven.\"

\"So what do you want to do today?\"

Kai merely grinned.

\"Let me rephrase that - what do you want to do today besides fucking my brains out?\"

Kai frowned, feigning thought.

\"Hey, why don\'t we go shopping?\"

\"Rei, you know I hate...\"

\"Please, Kai?\" Rei had that puppy dog look in his eyes.

Kai could never resist Rei\'s pleas, especially when he had that look. For the second time that day, Kai gave in.

\"Fine...\" Kai sighed.

\"You\'re the best,\" Rei said, giving Kai a peck on the cheek.

*Back at the park*

Tyson and Xan stood at opposite ends of the dish, ready to battle. Even Kenny had come down from his room to get a taste of Xan\'s skills. Max was standing beside the dish, ready for the countdown.

\"I\'ll go easy on you, since you\'re a newbie,\" said Tyson confidently.

\"Don\'t,\" replied Xan. \"You might regret it.\"

\"Ok, guys,\" said Max. \"Here it goes. 3, 2, 1, LET IT RIP!\"

Tyson launched his Dragoon towards the dish. However, before it hit the stadium, it was hit midair by Xan\'s silver blade. Dragoon managed to land in the stadium, but it was wobbling and unsteady.

\"Wha-?\"

\"You just witnessed my Shatter attack. Now, Dreamer, finish him off!\"

Dreamer sped towards Dragoon in a straight line and knocked it cleanly out of the dish. It landed at Tyson\'s feet. Dreamer then flew back into its owner\'s hand.

\"Fine, I admit - you\'re good.\"

\"Thanks.\"

\"Hey, why don\'t you take on Max?\"

\"Why not?\"

Tyson switched places with Max, and soon they were ready for another battle.

\"Don\'t go easy on me now,\" said Xan.

\"I\'ve seen enough to know what to do,\" replied Max.

\" 3, 2, 1,\" shouted Tyson. \"LET IT RIP!\"

\"Dreamer, Shatter attack!\"

\"Draciel, hold your ground!\"

The Shatter attack connected. However, Draciel barely budged, and both blades landed safely on the dish.

\"Dreamer, go for it!\"

\"Draciel, avoid his attack!\"

Dreamer sped towards Draciel, but Draciel moved out of the way at the last second.

\"Good move, but there is no way you can beat me in speed. Dreamer, show him the full extent of your might!\"

A white beam shot out of Dreamer\'s bit chip, and Xan\'s bit beast appeared. It took the form of an angel.

\"Impressive. Draciel, come out as well!\"

A black and purple tortoise burst out of Max\'s green beyblade. The two bit beasts stood before each other, ready to attack at their master\'s command.

\"Dreamer, Angelic Wind attack!\"

Dreamer flapped its wings and flew into the air, then started spinning around to create a hurricane around itself. Meanwhile on the battlefield below, there was no immediate change to the beyblade, boon oon everyone noticed it was moving faster. Soon, it became a silver streak.

\"Draciel, try to hit it as soon as it stops moving!\"

Dreamer soon moved into the centre flat section of the dish, and paused momentarily. Draciel went towards it at full speed, but its attack was thrown aside by the hurricane.

\"Dreamer! Time to finish this game!\"

Dreamer sped full speed towards Draciel. Draciel tried to avoid Dreamer\'s attack, but it was too slow. It was hammered out of the stadium. Dreamer then flew back to Xan.

\"Chief, I don\'t get it,\" Tyson asked. \"Why did the Shatter attack affect me so badly, but did almost nothing to Draciel?\"

\"Your Dragoon relies on contact with the ground to mantain its stability. Therefore, while it is in the air, it is practically a sitting duck. That is the weakness of many beyblades. Draciel, on the other hand, depends on its weight for stability. Thus the Shatter attack did not do much to it. Dreamer too has increased weight, since its attack ring is also metal. Thus it can emerge from its own attack unscathed.\"

\"how how did Dreamer\'s speed increase with the Angelic Wind attack?\"

\"Dreamer\'s attack ring isn\'t any normal metal - it is able to convert solar energy to make the blade spin faster. When it comes to speed, Dreamer is unmatched.\"

\"But doesn\'t an increased speed mean a higher risk of it getting out of control?\"

\"The silvery surface. It reflects light, and is thus able to control the amount of light absorbed.\"

\"Oh...\"

\"Cutting-edge technology, probably just out of the testing stage.\"

Just then, Max and Xan joined them.

\"Hey, what were you guys talking about?\" Max asked.

\"The battle,\" Tyson replied. \"Come on, let\'s get something to eat. I\'m hungry after that battle.\"

\"All you had was a shadow of a battle, compared to mine!\" Max tried to protest. But it was no use, Tyson was already running for the door.

Kai: I went... shopping?!

trueangel: That will be next chapter.

Kai: Shopping...!

Rei: Come on, Kai... it\'ll be fun!

Kai: Ok... for you, Rei. Let\'s get ready for our spree! *goes offstage with Rei*

Xan: Wait for next chapter for the smoke to clear! Sigh, don\'t you love cliffies...
