Summary: The sequel to Revelations
Notes: Finally, the third and final part.
I'm one hundred and forty-one years old, and to my species, that's the equivalent of being in your late twenties for a human. We're a long-lived species, us Saiyans, generally speaking. Which is why it's so difficult, when there are so few of us, and we live on another species planet. We befriend them, and love them... but they only live a tiny fraction of our lives.
There are more of us now, of course. Bra, and Pan... In fact, all of us, and hadn't that been a kicker, when we found out that male Saiyans were hermaphrodites? It makes sense, according to Vegeta, the ratio of female Saiyans to males were about one female to every one hundred and seventy-eight males. Vegeta never bothered to tell us about the hermaphroditism, though, since he thought our human blood would cancel that out.
But, one hundred and twenty-eight years. It's been a long time since I was fourteen. So much has happened in those years.
Well, Bulma's parents died, first of all. A heart attack got her dad, while a fall down the stairs got her mom shortly after. Mom died, a few weeks later. This rich drunk bastard hit her with his car while she was coming home from shopping. He ended up in prison, and Bulma ripped his company to pieces. I was sixteen.
Bulma died twelve years later, due to complication during childbirth. She bled out before the doctors had realized there was a problem. The baby, another girl, was stillborn. They named the baby Bodice and they were buried with her parents and my Mom.
Videl died in her sleep forty years ago. She was in her, what, late eighties, early nineties? So that wasn't bad for a human. Her and Gohan had divorced a long time ago, though. As time when on, she seemed to get more shrill and they started arguing a lot. About a year after Bulma died, they split up and got a divorce. They managed to stay together for Pan, but after she left for college their relationship fell apart.
There were a lot of new scientific discoveries, too, during this last century and a quarter. They discovered a cure for multiple sclerosis. Advances were made in genetic engineering – it's now legal to clone body parts, and it's even legal to genetically engineer babies if both parents are carriers for certain genetic diseases. One of the best discoveries, I think, is the discovery of proof that homosexuality is set on conception.
That discovery, once it became accepted, ushered in a new age of equality. It also started a bit of a riot with all those religious nuts, since it proved that their holy books were lying, and that homosexuality was part of their God's plan, and not something that the devil had created to sway mortals to the Dark Side.
When they legalized gay marriage in our country, Trunks and I were one of the first to go through with the ceremony. Even though we were married in Saiyan terms, we still wanted to have our commitment to each other acknowledged by the planet of our birth.
Oh, yeah, Trunks admitted his feelings for me when I was fifteen. Surprisingly, our families weren't as intolerant as we had thought they would be. Mom was a bit teary that she'd never get grandkids out of me (and, oh, what a joke that turned out to be). Vegeta really surprised us though – we expected him to be pissy because Trunks had chosen a “commoner” for his mate, but he actually said he approved. He said my family could hardly be called “third class commoner filth”, after all, Dad had been the first to attain Super Saiyan (you could tell that still pissed Vegeta off), and that the fact that Gohan and I had managed to attain that state at such early ages, well, I was the best and most acceptable choice, “plus”, he said, “we'd been expecting this since you both were five”. Had we been that close as kids that everybody could tell that we'd end up falling for each other when we got older? I hadn't thought so, but, back then is a bit fuzzy, five year olds – even Saiyan five year olds – don't tend to have the best memories, do they?
Dad and Vegeta got together, too. It took fifty-two years, but it happened. I have a little brother and a little sister. Cless turns twenty-four in two weeks. He has Vegeta's hair, including the widows peaks, But personality wise, he's kinda like Gohan. Selori will be turning five in three months. She's as violent and precocious as Trunks and I were at that age, and she's already informed us that she's going to take part in the next World Martial Arts Tournament. It'll be a toss-up on whether Vegeta will allow it or not, he's a bit over-protective of his girls. I still remember what he did to the first guy that tried asked Bra out on a date... he never did get back a full range of motion in his arm.
Gohan and Piccolo got together, too. They took almost as long as Dad and Vegeta to get together. Guilt, I guess, that he couldn't make things work with Videl, that despite how much he cared about her, he loved Piccolo more. But they ended up together (with help from Trunks and your truly - who knew that locking people in an 8-foot thick steel room actually worked). They have a sprog of their own, Clarinet, pale green with a shock of black hair on his head. Clarinet turned twelve six weeks ago. His “mother” was Gohan. He'll also have a little brother in a month or two, when the egg Piccolo “laid” hatches.
As for Trunks and I, we have three kids, all boys. Coliander is the eldest, he's one hundred and twenty-five. Yeah, I had him when I was sixteen. He was a complete mistake, but if I had a chance to do-over, I'd do the same thing, 'cause I love my kids. Coli is a lot like Piccolo, really. All stoic and stuff. He's all my colouring, but he has Trunks' straight hair. My next son is Brussel, he's fifty-six. He seems to have inherited curly hair from somewhere (we think Bulma, but we never could figure out if she was naturally straight or curly), which seriously, makes for some really weird-looking spiky hair. My last son is Chestnut, he's twenty-three, and completely and utterly a carbon copy of his dad with my eyes, though he's copied Marai Trunks' long hairstyle. Trunks and I think he's in love with my brother, Cless. It's a bit creepy, but Vegeta says that incest wasn't that uncommon back in the day, and it didn't really do much harm – that the chance of any genetic defects are almost non-existent.
God, I hate hospitals. They're noisy, white, the clothes are hideous, they smell disgusting, and I'm going to *kill* Trunks for getting me pregnant again.
Well, at least it'll be nice to have a baby in the house again.
