On the Way to the GR
During the walk back to the car, Bulma offered Vegeta the Gravitron she had built for space travel and intensive training. Vegeta just grunted his response.
When they had almost reached her car, Bulma turned around to address Vegeta, who was following about twenty feet behind her.
“Why have we stopped, woman?” Vegeta groaned after halting and crossing his arms. Bulma paused to observe him for a moment. He used his demeanor to give himself a veffeeffective aggressive appearance. A simple glare from the warrior Prince could easily strike fear into the hearts of any Capsule Corp employee, even if Vegeta were trying to behave himself.
Bulma thought for a moment. ‘How am I going to prevent him from scaring away my employees?’ After another pause, she managed to think of a possible solution.
“Well?!” He demanded with an air of irritation in his voice. He had suggested earlier that they fly to the car, but Bulma didn’t feel entirely secure being carried miles above the earth by a mass murderer. Therefore, Vegeta was annoyed that the walk was taking so long when they could've reached the car more than two hours ago.
Bulma finally found her voice. “Alright, Vegeta. While you’re living at Capsule Corp, PLEASE try to behave yourself. I know it’ll be difficult for, uh…someone like you. But I won’t be able to convince my family to let you stay with us unless you SWEAR you won’t harm anyone, let alone kill them.”
Vegeta just snarled at her comment.
“Please, Vegeta! I mean, just the way you LOOK at people is enough to scare the crap out of most of my employees.” Bulma was practically on her knees, begging him to be good.
Finally Vegeta spoke up. “No one will be harmed as long as I am not bothered or harassed in anyway. That, I can guarantee.”
Bulma took another minute to think this through. There were some naïve young collegians who worked at Capsule Corp as interns. Any of them could quite easily make the mistake of crossing paths with Vegeta. A warning to stay away from the spikey-haired man would probably make them curious...and being the young and reckless college kids that they were... Let's just say that was Bulma's number one fear.
“Will it help if I put up a ‘Beware of Saiyan’ sign?” Bulma suggested with a fake smile.
“Do people around here know what a Saiyan is?” Vegeta asked in his deep, sinister-sounding voice.
“Uhhh…good point. Oh well, I’ll figure it out. Come on, we’re almost there.” Bulma pushed her way through the last bit of foliage that led to the clearing where her red car was parked.
Vegeta stared at her wsuspsuspicion before continuing to follow her. He was unsure of her motives, which really bothered him. Why would she give him a place to stay? Did she want to study him for scientific purposes?
He could not understand the concept of kindness…it had been so long since he had known anything of the sort. As long as he could remember, people had only ever been ‘nice’ to him when they were really planning to stab him in the back. Distrust was so deeply engraved into his heart and soult het he felt he could never unlearn it.
Vegeta refused to shut up during the entire length of the car trip. He was constantly criticizing the vehicle for being slow and inefficient.
Though he had given her the urge to strangle him, Bulma managed to respond calmly. “Most people on this planet can’t fly Vegeta. We need some way to get around.”
By the end of the twenty-minute drive they were really getting on each other’s nerves. Vegeta was bored and grouchy, and Bulma, she was secretly griping about the date that she was NOT looking forward to that night and openly taking it out on Vegeta.
Bulma parked her car right next to the gravity room and looked around carefully to make sure no one was in sight before getting out. ‘Ah, looks safe to me...’ Bulma thought to herself.
As she was about to show Vegeta the inside of the GR, however, one of her girlfriends drove up beside where her car was parked and called to her. “Hey, Bulma!”
Bulma mentally cursed her friend for showing up at such a rotten time. She quickly hopped in front of Vegeta, trying to draw her friend's attention away from him. ‘Don’t say anything to Vegeta, don’t say anything to Vegeta, don’t say anything to Vegeta…’ She repeated over and over in her head.
“Vanessa, this isn’t a very good time for me…” Bulma pleaded, signaling with her eyes for her friend to leave.
Vegeta eyed the ditzy young w. Sh. She was blonde and green-eyed, and probably only slightly older than Bulma, but Vegeta did not find her highly attractive. He resorted to scowling at her in hopes that she would leave.
“Did you get a new boyfriend, Bulma? Whoo hoo...and to think Iughtught Yamcha was cute!” She giggled, waving at Vegeta suggestively. In response, Vegeta simply bore his teeth and growled at the woman, who yelped and quickly sped off. Vegeta chuckled to himself. 'Bet you'd think me blowing your head off would be real 'cute.' Huh, bitch?' He thought with an evil smirk.
Bulma turned to Vegeta and gave him ‘the look.’ “What?!” He growled at her, “I don’t want anyone to think that a Royal Saiyan would EVER mate with a weakling Earth woman!! Hmph, unlike that idiot Kakarott...”
She just rolled her eyes and unlocked the door. ‘I better get to making that sign right away…' She reminded herself.
Vegeta went in and slammed the door in her face. ‘I swear if anyone messes with me…' He thought viciously, leaving the sentence unfinished. He began his training at 100g.
Bulma audibly swallowed. ‘Guess it’s time to go tell the ‘rents.’ She thought, her face turning blue with fear. “Heh heh…heh…” She slowly turned and descended the short staircase to their grassy yard.
