When I Fell in Love
Summary: Set somewhere after GT. Sort of… Goten and Trunks are in college at 19 and 20 years of age. Pan and Bra are in middle school at 13 and 14. So yeah…The boys are younger than they should be. Goku has returned from his adventure with Shenron and has been wished back to his correct age using the Namekian Dragon Balls. Vegeta has almost completely closed the gap in power between himself and Goku and can transform into SS4 at will.
Warnings: M/M, MPREG
Pairings: Goku/Vegeta, Goten/Trunks
Author's Note: Perspective is kinda weird. The first four chapters are in Goku's perspective and then the rest so far aren't, so just letting everyone know I'm not consistent with perspective, but it's not to the point where you don't know what's going on.
On with the fic. Enjoy.

Shattered Night: Chapter 3- When I Fell in Love
I ducked under his kick and sent a right hook at his face. It spun him slightly as it connected and I quickly took advantage of the opening with an elbow to his gut. His body hunched forward involuntarily leaving him squinting down at the Earth below us. “Have a closer look,” I said with a goofy grin as I crushed down on his shoulder with an ax kick, sending him plummeting to the ground.
I snickered to myself, thinking how pissed he must be right about now. My suspicions were confirmed as the dust and debris settled revealing a large crater, with my prince standing in the center of it, seething. Maybe I should have left out the taunt.
Vegeta launched himself into the air heading for me. I readied myself for the oncoming assault, but was left wide eyed in confusion as he instead flew past me. I turned just in time to greet a spin kick in my face. The force sent me spiraling downward. Just as I stopped my descent and figured out which way was up, a ki blast slammed into my back, burning away my shirt, and pushing me into the crater Vegeta’s impact had made.
A small hiss escaped my lips as I lightly touched the rather large burning spot on my back. Yeah, I bet he’s smirking down at me right about now. I lifted myself onto shaky hands and knees wincing as my muscles protested the movement.
Vegeta didn’t give me the chance to get up. He dived at me from out of the sky and drove his knees into the burns on my back, knocking me flat and squeezing the air out of my lungs. I let out an ear splitting howl as all the nerves in my body screamed in pain. I take it back…now he’s smirking down at me.
“Had enough?”
“Yeah,” I coughed, spitting up a little blood in the process. “I think I’m paralyzed enough for one day.” After catching my breath I sat up slowly. Vegeta stood beside me, his arms crossed and he had that smirk I knew would be there. His eyes were full of life and excitement as adrenaline coursed through him. He looked ready for at least a few more rounds, but my body was spent. I didn’t have my full strength at the start of the match, and in consideration to this, Vegeta was ready to quit early. He offered a hand to help me up.
I smiled softly at him as I took his hand. He seemed to be standing over me a lot today, but every time it was to help me up. It was a very rare occurrence that Vegeta would help anyone, and I couldn’t help the blush that crept over my face me as I realized that every one of those rare occurrences had been for me.
“And just what are you so happy about?” Vegeta asked, pulling me to my feet and noting the giddy expression on my face. “Wait…don’t tell me. You’re a masochist and getting beat into the ground turned you on.”
I burst into laughter at his odd joke. “You’d like that. It would fit perfectly with your sadism fetish,” I replied giving him a playful slap on the back.
Vegeta chuckled darkly through a sadistic smile. “I think I would,” he retorted.
I nearly drooled at how incredibly sexy he was when he smiled and gave that velvety rich low toned laugh. I turned my face away to try and hide the lust that had fogged over my eyes.
“Hey…” Vegeta took hold of my shoulder and turned me to face him. “You okay?”
I suddenly realized how hard I was breathing as I struggled not to pull him to me and crush his lips to mine. I turned my face away again and closed my eyes trying to shut out the thought of how much I wanted him and how close he currently was. “I’m fine. I’m just…a little tired is all.” I pulled myself from his grasp and started towards my house.
Vegeta’s hand came down on my shoulder again. “You’re not going to make it very far staggering around in that condition, so make with the Instant Transmission and let’s get you back into bed.”
I smiled faintly as I brought two fingers to my forehead and IT’ed us back to my house.
~~~~~*~~~~~
I stumbled into my room and collapsed onto the bed face first. “Ouch,” I mumbled into the pillow. Vegeta came in a few moments later with a glass of water. He urged me to sit up and drink it, but when that proved useless, he placed the glass on the nightstand and told me to drink it when I felt I had the strength to sit up again. “I should go take a shower now.”
Vegeta snickered sitting on the bed beside me. “How about you wait until you’re awake enough not to drown in your own bath tub?”
“Mmph,” I agreed. I was tired after that spar and it was getting hard to stay awake.
“Listen, Kakarot…” Vegeta said shaking my shoulder to keep me conscious. “I don’t know what that depression thing crying out in the forest was, but I don’t like it. I won’t allow a warrior who has bested me to exhibit such a pitiful display, so whatever it was; eat, rest, get your strength back, and,” his tone became icy, “don’t ever let it happen again. I don’t like seeing you like that. Understood Kakarot?”
“Yes,” I affirmed drowsily, once again taking note of that sweetly familiar scent permeating from my prince. My eyes were sliding shut on their own accord. I tried to fight it, wanting to stay up and talk with Vegeta for a while, but my body wouldn’t have it.
I heard, or thought I heard, Vegeta sigh and mumble, “good,” just as my eyes fully closed and I could swear I felt a hand ruffle through my hair, but I wasn’t sure if I had dreamed it or not.
~~~~~*~~~~~
The phone rang suddenly from a table in the hall, startling me back to semi-consciousness. Vegeta was still beside me, making me wonder briefly how long I was out. It was either only a moment and Vegeta didn’t get a chance to go anywhere, or he’d been next to me for a while whilst I slept. I felt the bed shift as Vegeta got up to answer the telephone. A few seconds later the ringing ceased as Vegeta picked up the receiver. “Son residence,” he stated.
Faintly, I could hear the person he was speaking to. “I figured you’d be there. What the hell are you doing at that bastard’s house, Vegeta?” It was Bulma.
Vegeta growled. “I go where I want, when I want and I certainly don’t need your permission to do so.”
“Why are you taking his side?”
“Taking…his side? Excuse me, but I don’t even know what’s going on!”
“Then why didn’t you ask me before taking off?” Bulma screeched, forcing Vegeta to pull the phone away from his ear.
“Oh I’m sorry, but when people THROW shit at me I take it as a signal to LEAVE,” Vegeta snapped back.
There was a quiet pause on the other end. “I’m sorry, Vegeta,” Bulma said in a hushed whisper. “I shouldn’t have done that. I think there’s something you need to see…”
Those were the last words I heard as my remaining conscious faded, switching out to an elaborate dream world.

Around me, swirls of gray took shape until I was standing in a colorless version of the park I had often taken Pan to play in when she was younger.
The grass beneath my feet lit up and became a deep shade of green. Moving around turned out to be a wasted effort as I found that I couldn’t leave the ring of green. Everything in shades of gray seemed to be off limits to me.
I gave a heavy sigh wondering just what I was supposed to do at this point. Mystically, as if someone was answering my inner thoughts, the green of the grass spread, making a path for me to follow.
The pathway stopped just short of a swing set by the slide. I watched curiously as the grass beneath the swings lit up and there on one of the swings was Vegeta. A light sheen of sweat shone across his naked torso, his jeans ripped and scuffed at the knees, and his bare feet lazily making circles in the grass.
I tried to get closer, but much to my dismay; our two colored sections didn’t connect. I was stuck right where I was. I wonder if this is what hell would be like for me; an eternity of being so close, but yet, so far. I laughed inwardly at the thought. If that was what it would be like, then I was having my own hell on Earth.
“You know that really pisses me off about you,” Vegeta said.
“Huh?” my thoughts came back to the odd landscape around my Prince and I. It took me a second or two but I realized he wasn’t talking to me. His attention was directed to the person on the swing next to him.
“You never tried to be the best. It simply came naturally to you,” Vegeta continued.
My head snapped back slightly in surprise as the one sitting next to my Prince fully registered in my head. That orange gi, the top of it almost completely tattered. “It’s…me…” I mumbled to myself.
My other self chuckled. “I’m not the best, Vegeta. Someone always comes along who’s much stronger than me.”
“And yet you always manage to beat them, Kakarot.”
I watched them nostalgically. I remembered this. It was one of my fondest memories. In fact, it was my absolute favorite to date, because it was the night I fell in love with him.
We had been sparring all day with our bout somehow ending up above the park. Dusk had just passed when we finally decided to call it quits for the day, relaxing on the swings. I remember how calm I felt sitting beside him, even as he told me how much I pissed him off. After a while though, we had ended up sharing and comparing stories of past battles. We had stayed there almost the whole night, simply talking.
I learned a hundred times more about my Prince in that one night, than in all the years I’ve known him. His likes, dislikes, some of the best times of his life, some of the worst, and even some of the funniest, but the best part of the entire night was when he gave me an honest and warm smile.
“Ya know…I’ve always thought my greatest strength was my friends and family, but I’m not quite as close to all my childhood friends as I used to be,” my second self said.
I smiled in anticipation. My favorite part of the night was coming up.
“What about that bald best friend of yours.”
“Krillin? Well, we don’t really see each other much anymore. He’s settled down with his family while I keep running off at the first sign of adventure. Aside from that, he’s still my friend and all, but I think a best friend is the one out of all of your friends that you feel most comfortable around. That just isn’t him anymore.”
Vegeta gave Goku 2 a curiously arched eyebrow. “So who is then?”
“The one I feel most comfortable with? Well…” I chuckled to myself as my other self fumbled for words. “…you are,” he finally managed to stammer out.
Vegeta looked taken aback. He looked down at the grass as an embarrassed blush covered his cheeks, “I feel the most comfortable around you too,” he replied softly. Then I saw it. He looked back up at me and smiled. It was a pure and honestly happy smile.
I felt my heart melt all over again, but seeing it again also made my heart ache. I’d always known I liked him, but I never realized how deep my affections ran until that one moment. If I’d the chance to do it again, I would have admitted my feelings to him on the spot and maybe even taken it as far as attempting to kiss him. I sighed… Yeah... it was always easier in hindsight.
~~~~~*~~~~~
I was shaken from my dream by what felt like an earthquake. I could feel a dramatically rising ki. A rapid chain of explosions followed it.
I shook off the lingering drowsiness that beckoned me back to sleep and focused my senses. ‘What’s going on?’ I ran out of my room, down the stairs, and to the front of the house where the familiarly angry ki seemed to be waiting for me.
Vegeta stood engulfed in a deep red aura.
“Vegeta? What’s…”
“I can’t believe you,” Vegeta cut in. The crimson aura flared around him just before he lunged forward and knocked me to the ground. His legs straddled my chest as he wrapped his hands around my throat in a crushing grip, his tail lashing wildly behind him.
“Vegeta,” was all I managed to choke out. I didn’t understand. This was completely wrong. I knew Vegeta would be pissed off at Bulma, or me, or both of us, but this was above and beyond the level of rage I had expected from him. This was all wrong…he wasn’t like this anymore. What would drive him to this?
“Bulma showed me everything,” he growled out, tightening his hold.
I tried to pry his hands away from my neck. Showed? Bulma showed him everything? How? What? Damn it! Just what did she do!?”
Until Next Chapter…
