The Sweetest Kiss
Disclaimer: Despite myriad efforts, I am sad to report I still don\'t own FMA. Yeah I know, it sucks so stop laughing at me.
Roy looked around his office and then smiled and stretched his arms out. Hawkeye was nowhere to be found, perhaps she was stuck at the train station, due to Roy assigning her false orders. He enjoyed his time alone, and was always able to convince her that the Fuehrer was the one that wanted her to go on the mission and then aborted it for some mundane reason. He didn’t do it often enough for her to truly be mad; Hawkeye was his best soldier and a loyal puppy. If any shit went down, she’d better be within earshot of his screaming. He constantly found himself staring at the black phone on his desk, wanting to call Full Metal in to...to... Roy shook his head. ‘Does that midget upstart really have me touched like that? Or am I just horny and appreciative of a beautiful face?’ he wondered, rubbing his hair.
“Hey Flaming Alchemist, are ya busy?” Roy frowned at the muffled voice behind the oak door to his office. It was that little shithead Elric at his door. ‘Did that lil bastard call me flaming?’ Roy thought as he stood and walked over to the door. He opened it to find Ed smiling up at him mischievously.
“May I come in?” Ed asked, for once being polite. He figured being rude would get him no information about Al’s whereabouts. Roy stood off to the side and gestured for Ed to walk in. He couldn’t help but notice the boy’s rounded ass in his tight black military pants. Swallowing a mass amount of drool, Roy followed behind Ed, sitting behind his desk.
“So what brings you to my office?” Roy asked, wanting Ed to leave so he could dream of tapping his sweet ass. Geez, what was happening to him?
Ed shrugged and picked up a crystal glass swan that was on Mustang’s desk. Roy quickly placed his gloved hand over Ed’s. “Careful Full Metal. I made that myself.” Ed looked impressed as he closely examined the flawless crystal. “Funny, someone as shallow as you could make something so graceful and beautiful.” Roy reddened and snatched his hand away. Being insulted was actually helping his semi-erection go down. “Get to the point, boy. Why are you here?” Roy barked. Ed jumped slightly and looked at his auto-mail arm.
“Where is Al,” he asked, sounding broken. “He’s never left me before, and I worry about him. People aren’t accepting of him because of how he looks. I don’t want him facing unnecessary ridicule,” Ed spoke truthfully. Roy nodded his head. Calling ahead of time to let Li Chau know what was coming to her spa would rule out any mistreatment of Al. If Al was being mistreated, lets just say all the water in the spa couldn’t put out the flames of Roy’s fury.
“For whatever my word is worth to you, I would NEVER place your brother in any danger or hurt him,” Roy said, looking Ed square in the eye. Ed sneered and rolled his eyes. “Why not? You’d just as easily put me in danger or hurt me.” Stung by the boy’s accusation, Roy stood and hopped over his desk, clean of Hawkeye’s usual spread of paperwork. He leaned down in front of Ed and stared at the alchemist, brown and golden eyes staring at each other for so long and intently that Ed grew uncomfortable and looked away. Roy took off one of his gloves and tilted Ed’s chin towards his face.
“I would never hurt you,” he said in a breathy voice. Ed’s lower lip quivered at the unexpected display of affection. Roy leaned closer and closer until his lips met Ed’s, very softly and tenderly. Had Ed not had his eyes open, he would have thought it was just a warm breeze caressing his lips. Roy stroked Ed on the cheek, kissing him just a little harder and smiled into the kiss when Ed responded.
Ed turned his head into the kiss, running his tongue over Roy’s bottom lip. The flame alchemist moaned softly and continued kissing full metal, eventually winding his hand into Ed’s hair. ‘So soft and silky,’ he thought. He expected Ed’s hair to feel like hay but it felt so fine and fragile, he took his hand away for fear of pulling the Elric\'s hair out.
It seemed like the office was spinning, that there was a parade outside, fresh cut flowers, mom was alive, Al had his body, and that Winry’s parents weren’t dead. Ed was on cloud nine, falling into the seductive spell of the Lieutenant Colonel. Then he snapped out of it. He pulled back away from Mustang and stared in horror at him.
“Fucking molester!” Ed yelled, backing away. Roy shook his head and walked ashamed back behind his desk. “Leave Full Metal. I’m done with you.” Roy hoped that being cold could hide the shame of being rejected. Ed couldn\'t believe his ears. To be kissed and touched so lightly and lovingly, and then kicked out like a common street whore when he protested?!! It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t nice. It wasn’t cool. Ed stared at Mustang, not really realizing how he nor the older man were feeling. He spun on his heel and stormed out, his hair tie falling off in the process. Roy noticed it and picked it up. Sighing, he smelled it, cradled it, and put it in his jacket inside pocket, the pocket over his heart. He wondered if Ed was complex enough to know that every rejection, every harsh word was slowly breaking his Colonel\'s heart.
“You know, don’t let him get to you like that,” Hughes called from the hallway. Roy gritted his teeth. His best friend, confidant, worst enemy, brother, and drinking partner all rolled into one was standing in the doorway grinning ear to ear at him. Roy hung his head tiredly, the signal that Hughes was welcome for a seat.
“How much did you hear or see?” Roy asked. Though they made him physically ill at times, Maes and Riza were the only two people in the world he trusted with everything, from his favorite food to assasinations in the woods, those two knew EVERYTHING. Hughes adjusted his glasses and crossed his legs. “I saw when you kissed him. I heard him call you a child molester, even though he’s eighteen, and you tossed him out.” Hughes grinned brightly at Mustang who was still feeling the aftershocks of being so ruthlessly rejected.
“So what do you plan to do?” Hughes asked, drawing invisible patterns on his pants. Mustang shrugged. Ed was a hot bitch for sure, but not at the price of his ego. Hughes frowned. “Roy,” he said leaning in closer, “I can tell you like him. You must like him, because you aren’t a man of man action if you follow me. Don’t let some harsh words from a kid on a high horse beat you down. Don’t even tell me if Ed were a woman you’d give up now,” Hughes pointed out. Mustang shrugged again, feigning indifference, but honestly needing his friend’s confidence boost. Hughes stood to leave.
“Hey man, I’ve got to go. Elyesia spit up this morning and I have to develop the pictures,” he said cheerfully. Roy extended his right hand and Hughes took it. “Slap it to the right, cuz’ the left’s disrespect!” they both said in unison. Laughing, Roy waved his friend off and sat as his desk, plotting his next move on Elric.
He looked at his calendar...19 more days alone with Ed. He sighed and looked out the window, and groaned audibly as he saw Hawkeye stomping toward his building. She stopped and pointed at him through the glass, grabbed her gun and aimed it at him. Roy ducked just in time as a bullet shattered a pane of glass. ‘Maybe sending Hawkeye to parts unknown for the day wasnt as good a idea as once thought’ Roy contemplated as he picked glass from his leather chair. It was going to be yet another long day, but atleast he had Ed’s sweet kiss on his lips, and because of that, he knew it was going to be a good day.
