(Chapter three) Une's mistake
Looking at the four men, Chief Une says; "So he just quit. If I had known he would quit I would have called him and told him, but I didn't think he would react this way."
"How did you think he would react Une? You think he would have been happy about this? What were you thinking? Why was he passed over for the position?" Heero asked her.
"I don't have to answer to you Yui. If Chang wants to know…" Une never finished her statement because Heero jumped up out of his chair and moves to stand in front of her. Trieze has never seen anyone move that fast before. He did not think it was humanly possible to move that fast. Heero is a hairs breath away from Une's face. He is very angry, and an angry Heero is a scary one, so Une is wise enough not to speak.
"Yes, you fucking do. I want to know why Wufei has given five years of his life to this damn place to have what he gave thrown back in his face. He has done more training, taken more classes, gotten physically and mentally abused. He had to work his ass off to get the men to trust him.
He went to their houses, helped them with personal problems, went the extra mile and became not only their commanding officer but also their friend and he genially cares for them all. Wufei would give his life for every fucking one of them. They would not even listen to you; if it were not for Wufei this place would not be the top rated Preventer agency around, so I will ask you again Chief Une. Why was Wufei not promoted?" Heero asked her again calmly. He steps back a bit to wait for her answer.
"Because I didn't put in a promotion for him..." There were gasps of surprise from all except her. Heero is seething with rage now. He took some slow breaths to get himself under control. He walked back to his chair to sit down; knowing that if he remained so close to Une, he might kill her, and I cannot help Wufei and rescue Duo if I am in jail for murder.
