The Storm

“Daddy’s gone!?” Gohan sounded more than just upset, he sounded near panic. “He’s gonna go back to mommy! He’s not going to be bonded to Vegeta any more! I’m not going to have a nice momma any more!”

“That’s nonsense Gohan,” Raditzu growled, “We’re going to find where Vegeta’s gone and we’re going to beat some since into him.” Shifting Gohan from one arm to the other, he motioned Napa to follow him into the house. “First we’ve gotta look for clues. That idiot prince of ours doesn’t know how to be stealthy…he was never raised on Vegetasei.”

Raditzu set Gohan down, “Now cub, look for anything that seems to be out of place…and come get us if you find anything. This is important.”

“Yes Uncle Raditzu,” He put on a determined face and set off towards his father’s bedroom.

“Have you gotten your scouter?” Raditzu turned to face his mate, folding his arms over his chest.

“Yeah, but…don’t you think we should find Vegeta first? What if he tries to leave the planet? Then finding Kakkarot’s space pod would be useless….”

“Your scouter can pick up on the Prince’s ki at greater distances than the two of us put together can….”

“I’ll go get it this time.” Raditzu sighed and watched the man run up the stairs. Wrapping his arms around his middle, he sat down on a nearby couch.

“I don’t need this stress…” He whispered to himself, “You don’t need it either.” He rested his hands upon his stomach. He was not showing yet, but he could feel the tinny life inside of him drawing upon his energy making him feel weak and sick. “And I thought they were doing so much better…”

“BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.”

Raditzu looked around wondering where that sound could be coming from, spotting a cleaning bot coming towards him. “No you don’t…If I’ve made a mess, I’m going to clean it up myself!”

“Hello? Hello? Who’s there?” A familiar voice buzzed out of the bot’s mid section.

“What the hell?” He growled, “Now they talk?”

“Raditzu is that you? Its me Bulma! You need to get over to the CC grounds RIGHT NOW…your friend, Vegeta is over here tearing the place apart!” There was a crash in the background and a shrill scream followed by a growl. “You’re not going to call anyone woman! You’re going to make me a space ship so I can get off of this mudball, and you’re going to do it RIGHT NOW! Space technology!? I’ve never even worked with anything that complex? I don’t know what I’m doing with things that complex! WELL YOU’RE GOING TO LEARN OR YOU’RE GOING TO DIE!”

“What’s going on? I heard screaming…” Napa reappeared, frowning down at the bot that was producing the racket.

“I know where Vegeta is…” Raditzu sighed rubbing his forehead. The bot had gone silent and Raditzu could only guess that Vegeta must have blown up the transmitter on the other end. “He’s at Bulma’s…I don’t think we’re going to have to worry about him getting off of the planet quite yet…”

“Here’s the scouter…” Napa said, sitting next to his mate, putting his arm around Raditzu’s shoulder and pulling him closer. “You look ill…do you need to lay down?”

“I’m fine…” He affixed the scouter to the side of his head and clicked the power button waiting for it to boot up. “Just feeling a bit sick to my stomach.”

“GOHAN!” Napa called, shifting on the couch to look back to the hallway that led to the other’s bedroom. ‘GET YOUR TAIL IN HERE!”

“Can you not yell?” Raditzu glowered at his mate, “I’m trying to concentrate…its been a while since I had to use this program and I’m not sure how to get to it any more…”

“Uncle Napa, I couldn’t find anything in dad’s room.” Gohan declared running up to his uncles, his tail flicking behind him showing he was worried despite the cheerfulness that played over his face.

Raditzu’s eyes flickered back and forth, a frown growing on his face. “I think I’ve got it.”

“What is Uncle Raditzu doing with that thing on his head?” Gohan pointed at the machine with the green tented eyepiece.

“Ahah!”

Napa lifted Gohan off of the floor and seated him on his lap. “Hush, your uncle’s busy.” Napa whispered.

“Kami be damned!” With a growl, Raditzu tore the instrument off of his head and tossed it to his mate. “I forgot the damned program only works short range! Where ever it is…the damned thing can’t pick it up!”

“What are we going to do now?

“What’s going on?” Gohan asked again, watching Raditzu and Napa look at each other, their facial features changing as if they were having some sort of silent argument. “What are you looking for, Uncle Raditzu!? Maybe I know where it is!”

Another look shared between mates before Raditzu patting Gohan on the head and smirked, “You know, you might just be able to help us….”

“Huh? I can?” He looked startled, not expecting that answer.

“Of course, Gohan. Can you tell us if your father grew up in that house we were staying in earlier?” Raditzu asked, already putting the scouter back on and turning it on when the cub nodded slowly. “Can you tell us everything about that house?”

“Yeah, it’s grandpa Gohan’s house!” His smile faded a bit, “Daddy doesn’t like to talk about Grandpa with me…he gets really sad…he doesn’t like to think about Grandpa Gohan. So he sortta doesn’t like to stay in the house much…it reminds him of grandpa...so when he used to take me up there we would camped out in the woods. But mom started to be mean to daddy and…he started to sneak off to stay up there…can you tell me what that machine does now?”

“It tells me where things are, like people, and space ships.” Raditzu explained taking Gohan from Napa. “Come on! We’re going to go on a great adventure! What do you say about that Gohan? And you can fly on your own too!”

“YEAH!”

“Napa…” Raditzu stood and turned to his mate, considering him for a moment. “I don’t think our princeling is going to be escaping earth any time soon…but could you go to Bulma’s house and tell her what is going on and keep your eyes on Vegeta? If he tries to leave…do what ever it takes to keep him on earth. Don’t let him leave, do you hear me?”

“O-of course…” Napa said standing as well.

“I love you,” Raditzu whispered drawing Napa to him to kiss the larger Saiyan upon his nose. “Come on Gohan!” He hurried out the front door and into the sunny afternoon. On the horizon Raditzu could see deep black clouds boiling like a sea of living things and frowned to himself.

“Its gonna storm.” Gohan said wisely, observing the same storm clouds.

“Yeah, cub, it is…but we’ve got to start our adventure! Come on!” Taking Gohan’s hand in his he took to the sky keeping a careful eye on the other to make sure Gohan stayed buoyant upon the freezing air. “Which way are we going again Gohan?”

“That way!” He cried enthusiastically pointing towards the horizon that was darkening under the storm clouds. “Grandpa’s house!”

“Oh yeah! I almost forgot!” He chuckled giving the cub a warm smile before starting off at a slow pace, much slower than he would normally fly, especially on such a cold day. Opening the popper programs, Raditzu started to monitor conditions around them, while searching for a familiar blip to appear to mark the presence of a space pod’s unique power source.

The temperature was dropping steadily as they flew south, the moisture readings were skyrocketing. Raditzu felt a twinge of nervousness bolt through him. If these readings were taken on Vegeta Sei, people would be fleeing the cities for higher ground.

“Uncle…maybe you should carry me…you could fly a lot faster without me slowing you down.” Raditzu looked to his nephew in surprise.

“What a smart kid,” He mumbled, “Okay, come here.” He paused in their flight, turning his back to the other. “Climb on.”

Gohan nodded and wrapped his arms and tall around his Uncle’s neck gulping slightly as a bolt of lightening flickered across the distant mountains. “Listen, Uncle Raditzu? Maybe we should turn back. Daddy says that Grandpa’s house isn’t very warm or safe in a storm.”

“Are you afraid?” Raditzu growled, wishing he could turn back. There wasn’t time to loose. Who knows if Bulma already had a space ship built. Vegeta could be trying to board right now. He could be trying to leave right now. Napa might not be able to stop the rock headed Prince.

“Y-yes.” Gohan whispered clinging tighter to his uncle.

Raditzu ignored the word pushing himself forward into the darkening day.

Napa growled, flinging himself into the sky trying to remember where the hell that huge building was. He had been there only twice, he wasn’t good at remembering where things were, that was Raditzu’s job and he did a damned good job of it. “I’m going to get lost,” He grumbled shivering at a rather strong gust of wind whipped at his frame, scaning the skies ahead he frowned slightly seeing signs of an impending storm. “Where ever Bulma’s house is…it better be near that shits moving in fast…”

Using his ki sensing abilities he tracked his way to the center of the city, and towards a dark building on the outskirts of the property. Landing upon dried grass, he looked around frowning slightly. Vegeta’s ki felt agitated, if there was any living creatures around they probably didn’t stand a chance of seeing the next sunrise.

“YOU LITTLE!” A shout exploded from inside the smallish building, a ki blast blasting through a window not far from where the bald warrior stood.

“Shit,” He muttered to himself, stalking over to the broken window to peak in on the disaster inside.

“She lied to me…” Vegeta snarled, busting out another window in his fury. “There is NO GOD DAMNED SPACE SHIP IN HERE!”

Napa sighed and made his way around to the front door, letting himself in he wound his way through a small corridor and into the main labritory which stood in a smoldering ruin in the wake of hurricane Vegeta.

“My prince…” Napa growled, standing with his arms folded, blocking the door. He could feel his anger boiling under the surface of his skin and he wondered if he would be able to contain it under the circumstances.

“So you’ve decided to come with me after all…”

Napa glowered at his prince, “How could you?” He snarled, fisting hands at his side. It was harder than he had expected to hold back the dam of rage and he let the flood waters of fury overtake him.. “How could you make love to your mate and leave him moments later?! HAVE YOU NO HEART!?”

Vegeta affixed Napa with a stern glare. “I…” He closed his moth and growled from where he sat in the middle of a wrecked science lab. “He is MY mate, and what I do to him is NONE of your concern!”

“It obviously is when you’ve got your head too far up your ass to see how much you’re hurting the man who cares for you!” Napa nearly screamed in frustration at the other. He didn’t know where the owner of this lab was, but he was hoping she was safe and far away from this lunatic they called their prince. “He thinks he does nothing but break your heart! I’ve seen mates do this shit before, and I lost BOTH of my friends because of it. I will NOT let you do the same stupid thing as they did.”

“It is a trick, and you fell for it. Kakkarot feels nothing for me. If he cared for me, he would never have let me claim him. He obviously doesn’t care that he’s going to get me in trouble with Lord Furiza.”

“This is MADNESS, Vegeta! That ass of a lizard doesn’t know where you are…and Kakkarot couldn’t help but do what he did. It’s instinct, what would you rather have? Would you have him suffer to save your feelings? That’s pretty damned selfish Vegeta.”

“You know what I think, Napa?” Vegeta growled standing from his chair, the only object left standing in the room. “I think its damned animalistic to blame EVERYTHING on instincts! I am the PRINCE of ALL Saiyans…I will not be weak, to do so will loose me my people, my home world, my title. I will not fall for this instinct bull shit. I need that third class idiot just as much as I need a fucking nail through my heart! I will return to the home world tomorrow, and I will leave you TRATORS here to rot! I will forget about that idiot Kakkarot.”

“Okay, if that’s the way you want to be…” Napa growled under his breath. Crossing his arms over his large chest he made his way to the prince and sat down before the chair his eyes tracking the movements of an agitated Prince.

“Yes…sit and wait…I will get us our ship one way or another…” He walked to a broken window, glowering out at the boiling clouds overhead. “What the hell are those things in the sky?”

“AH!” Vegeta gave a sudden cry jumping away from the open window a loud crash ringing through the small room seconds after a blinding flash of light. Napa was surprised to find the Prince leaping into his lap after another ear shattering rumble exploded from outside. “Mother fucking Kami be damned, what the FUCK is that!” Vegeta exclaimed trying to hide himself in the safety of Napa’s embrace.

“Hn,” Napa snorted looking down at the trembling man in his lap, tangling his hands in the other’s upswept main he forced the other to look at him. “In some ways, you’re still my cub, a young, stupid kid who doesn’t know what’s good for him….you idiot.” Leaning in he kissed his prince softly upon his forehead before wrapping his arms around Vegeta’s waist. “That’s thunder and lightening…it means a storm is rolling in.”

“S-storm, you mean like rain?” He asked his cheeks heating up as he gathered enough wits about him to realize that he is sitting in Napa’s lap as if he were a cub. Growling, he struggled against the larger man to regain his feet.

“No…you’re not going anywhere Vegeta….I’m going to have a talk with you since your mate doesn’t have the balls to tell you himself.” Napa growled to Vegeta, holding he younger man tighter to himself. “Look at you, you’re nothing more than a cub still! How old are you? 18, 19 years old? You are nothing but a cub I’m old enough to be your GRAND father! How can you so easily shrug off what you feel? Did Raditzu and I not teach you about love? About lust and passion and expressing yourself? You’re young yet, you don’t know what you want! You don’t even realize how much you love Kakkarot. Raditzu told me about the bedroom…what he saw Kakkarot doing to you…you do realize that, correct me if I’m wrong….that Kakkarot is the ONLY other person to have touched you like that. Don’t tell me that it was rape….Raditzu herd your words very clearly, you were happy with your mate’s domination.”

“Napa STOP!” Vegeta ordered growling and struggling against the tight grip his body guard enforced.

Lightening lit the darkening room casting sharp shadows across Napa’s angry face. “Listen to me…if you weren’t physically compatible with each other, a bond would not have formed. If you weren’t emotionally connected to him in some way, the bond would have withered and died…if you didn’t CARE about him…you wouldn’t still be here…I know you…you’re a fighter. You wouldn’t have stopped until you found your means of escaped. Why are you still here? You LOVE Kakkarot, now stop being a god damned ass about it and admit it to yourself. Stop trying to be a prince, just be a lover. You’ve got to know when to turn it off Vegeta, or you’re going to make yourself very unhappy. You’ve got to learn just to be Vegeta, to just feel, to just be with your mate and love him like you know you do. You‘ve gotta forget about Furiza…I am sure he has forgotten everything about you by now. I am sure he has found himself a new pet.”

“That’s all bullshit,” Vegeta mumbled even as he found himself clinging to the other, another flash of light infiltrating the building followed by a loud rolling blast of thunder. Shivering he felt tears prick his eyes, if Kakkarot were here… “No…you just…don’t understand…”

“Try me my prince…” Napa whispered, trying to sooth the frightened prince.

“I can’t love him…if Furiza finds out, he’ll kill him and I’ll be all alone again.” He began to sob, “If Kakkarot is working for Furiza, I’ll be such a fool to have fallen in love with an agent of my enemy….it would hurt so much to have to kill him…”

“If Furiza kills your mate…you won’t be lonely for long…you’ll die with him, you’ll die in his arms and you’ll go to some beautiful place beyond the stars. You’ll be with your mate forever Vegeta…” Napa comforted stroking a trembling brown tail with his knuckles. “You’ll always be young there, and you can have as many kids as you want! Sex is an even greater pleasure in the after life because you will be connected to the very soul there. There will be no limitations to how you express your love. Where we go when we die…it is a very beautiful place.”

Vegeta gave a choked sob, looking up to his teacher, his sparing partner, his guard, his sane voice in a whirlwind of chaos. Even his adopted father. “You sound so much like Raditzu some times…”

Napa chuckled, “That’s because most of the time, Raditzu is telling me what to say…you think I’d be able to come with half this crap without his help? I’m about as eloquent when it comes to speaking as a drunken bar rat.”

Laughing at the statement, he pressed his damp face against Napa’s chest, purring slightly at the contact of flesh against his fur. “I’m still leaving…you can‘t convince me otherwise…my dream was prophecy. Kakkarot is working for Furiza…if you were smart you‘d leave with me. Raditzu isn‘t what he seems to be. Ever notice how he hasn‘t been sick lately? Ever think that he was FAKING pregnancy to keep you at his side?”

The door banged open and a menacing woman stormed in, fists on hips eyes on fire. “If you want to survive the night…” She paused seeing the bald man. “Wonderful, you cant take this psychopath home! I’m tired of him trashing my labs!”

Outside a deafening roar split the silence making Vegeta jump and the blue haired woman glower out a nearby window. “Maybe not…shit. You two come with me. I’m sending my employees home there is a very bad storm moving in. I’m going to take shelter. If you want to be able to leave in the morning I suggest you come with me….”

“A bad storm?” Napa asked forgetting about his prince’s statement.

“Yeah, there is a storm moving from the north, a storm moving in from the south…not sure where they are going to hit but conditions like these spawn tornados. Not sure if you have those where you come from, but here they are huge ass wind storms that can blow apart a building with no problem.” Bulma said.
