Chapter 39



Rei let out a small groan as soon as he heard his alarm clock going off. He buried his head under his pillow in order to block off the annoying noise. After a few more minutes he felt his blankets being roughly yanked off of his body. He jumped and looked in front of him to see his mother smiling down at him.
“Ma what are you doing here? And in my room!?”
“It’s time to get up sleepy head. I made breakfast for you boys. So hurry up and freshen up before your meal gets cold.” She smiled at her still shocked son and walked out of the room with the blankets in her arms. Rei just watched his mother disappeared out of the room. He sighed and slumped back down on the bed.
“Don’t you dare go to sleep again Rei-rei!” She yelled.
“I’m up Ma!”


Rei placed the dog tags over his head and allowed them to fall against his chest. He looked himself over the mirror. He was wearing a pair of half faded dark blue jeans. A white t-shirt and a white casual shirt over it and a blue sweat band on his right wrist.
He grabbed his book bag and walked out of the bedroom. He walked over to the small kitchen and saw Kai already sitting at the table with Ki Shou. Rei ran his hand through his hair and walked over to the table.
“Morning son. How you feeling?”
“Good.” He looked at his dad and noticed the big smile on his face. ‘Okay did I wake up in the twilight zone or something? My parents are acting like nothing happened last night. Maybe they really aren’t my parents. Maybe they are aliens getting ready to suck my brains out. Whoa way a minute what if they can read minds? Why the hell am I even thinking crap like this?’ He sat down and glanced over at the dual hair who was already eating.
“Here you go Rei-rei.” Lanfei placed a bowl of white rice. A plate with fried fish and vegetables.”
“Ma it’s breakfast not lunch.”
“But we always have fish for breakfast. What have you been eating lately?” She looked at him with curiosity.
“Um well Kai always made pancakes and bacon, sometimes French toast and sausages, oh at times he made eggs that are Spanish style.”
She looked over at Kai who continued to eat in silence.
“Really? Oh wow so he is like a wife! How sweet feeding my baby like that and Rei-rei seems happy about it.” She looked over at her son who was soon blushing. “How cute!” She looked back at the dual hair who as well had a faint of blush on his cheeks. “Ki Shou are baby boy has found a mate who knows how to cook.”
“MA! What the hell are you saying!?”
“Well I am only stating the facts dear. So Kai tell me do you do his laundry too? If so I can tell you a secret on how to keep his socks white.”
“Ma stop it!”
“Why?” She looked at her son with a sad puppy look.
“Okay you two are seriously getting on my nerves! You guys are acting like nothing is wrong with this picture.”
“Son?” The man looked at his son with concern.
“Why are you two acting like this isn’t a big deal? I cheated on my fiancé with a guy and now I’m feeling all screwed up now that I am thinking of it all!”
“Rei-rei we aren’t going to lie to you. We are a bit sad that you did cheat on Salima and well that you just lied to us about everything. But to tell you the truth I am truly happy for you. You are happy with someone that you truly care for. And not to mention he is such a fine catch. Kai do you think we can swap recipes after your class?”
“Sure Mrs. Kon.”
“Great! Okay Rei-rei eat up.” She walked over to the stove and began to clean up.
“I’m not hungry.” He grabbed his bag and quickly made his way out of the place.
The door was slammed shut. Ki Shou looked down at his meal and sighed.
“I am sorry. This is all my fault.” Kai spoke.
“Don’t be silly Kai. Rei-rei…he just at times can be real stubborn.”
“No one is blaming you or him…but he just doesn’t seem to understand that.” The man leaned his head back and closed his eyes. “This is my fault. I forced him into marrying Salima just so I could be closer to Eric.” He looked over at the dual hair. “Even if Rei never accepts you will you will still love him?”
“Yes. I don’t expect him to return my feelings. But as long as he is always around me and always acting like an idiot I will love him.”
“Kai you truly are someone special. I never met anyone who truly cares for our kitten as much as you do.” Lanfei walked over to the dual hair and hugged him. “I am happy he met you. Thank you so much for taking care of him.” She hugged him tighter.


The raven hair sat down with his tray of food. He let out a sigh and grabbed his can of juice.
“Yo Rei!”
He glanced behind him and saw Takao walking over to him with Mihaeru. The two sat down in front of the raven hair.
“Hey man where have you been hiding all this time?” The bluenette asked him with a grin.
“Just been busy lately.” He grabbed his burger and bit it.
“Rei are you alright?” The light blond looked at him with concern.
“No. My entire life is completely over.”
“What happened bud?” Takao grabbed a fry from the raven hair’s tray and popped it in his mouth.
“My parents found out about Kai.”
The bluenette suddenly began to cough.
“Ty are you alright?” Mihaeru began to lightly smack him on the back. After a few more coughs he finally stopped coughing. He looked at the raven hair in shock.
“You serious? How? Dude don’t tell me they caught you two going at it in the closet.”
“Tyson please.” Rei lowered his head.
“Sorry. But seriously what happened?”
“He ended up telling Salima and my mom that I was gay.”
“What did they say?”
“It’s what they didn’t say. They are acting like this is all natural and that it isn’t a big deal.”
“Rei how does that upset you?”
“My dad is Bisexual.”
“WHAT!?” The bluenette’s eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
“Mom told me he once had a lover before and he still hits on guys.”
“Whoa so that means your old man was actually being serious about taking me out to dinner.” Takao began to rub his chin. “Damn.”
“Tyson please.” The light blond glanced over at him with a bit of annoyance. “So…”
“So I am freaking out. This is all becoming too confusing for me. I don’t know what to think anymore. Salima is at the moment freaked out. My parents are acting like Kai is my wife already and my emotions are right now bleeding.”
Rei sighed once more and moved his food away from him. The two looked at each other with concern.
“Rei what do you pan on doing?” Mihaeru looked at him.
“I don’t know. I wanted to stay here. But now I will go back to China and marry that bitchy girl. I just don’t know what I can do besides committing suicide.” He lightly laughed.
“How about we hang out tonight? We can go to Butterfly Grove Mountain just to let out some stress. We can go swim in Crystal Lake to relax. How about it?”
The raven hair placed his head on the table.
“So you can forget about things for a moment.” The light blond looked at him.
“I guess…why not I might just drown in that lake and then it will all be over.” He glanced up at the two with a smile.
“You drown and I will be sure to drag your sorry ass back to life and then I will beat the shit out of you.” The bluenette glared down at the smiling Rei.
“Thanks I feel loved now.” He chuckled.



“Later you two.” Rei waved at his friends.
“Meet us at our place after practice okay?” Mihaeru yelled back at him.
“You bet. Bye!” With that the raven hair ran off to the opera/dance house.
“Babe what do you think is going to happen?”
“I wish I knew. I just hope Rei figures out his feelings before Kai leaves.”
“Huh?”
“He loves him. I can tell that Rei loves Kai deeply but he just can’t accept it. He is being stubborn but I guess he is just afraid what society will think of him”
“I say screw society and live how you want to live!” He pulled the light blond into a hug and groped his butt making Mihaeru blush.
“If only he was a bit like you.” He nuzzled his lover.






Hi Ho everyone!” Brooklyn came in with a huge smile and a mess of energy. “Well this will be our last day of practice and then the big night will come. So let us practice hard today and be prepared for our grand performance.”
Everyone in the class began to cheer.
“Okay well then I will give you all a five minute warm up and then we will begin.” The orange hair moved away and walked over to where Jin was standing.
“You seem to have a lot of energy right now.” The taller man looked at the happy Brooklyn.
“That’s because I had the most wonderful time with you and I plan and having another special night so don’t tire yourself out today.”
“You’re the one who will be tired. I’m not dancing you are.” He smiled at the orange hair. “I need to finish up some paper work for some props I got today. Don’t strain yourself.” Jin quickly kissed Brooklyn on the cheek when no one was looking and he made his way out of the building.
The orange hair just watched as his lover made his way out of the building
“So I take it you had a good time last night?”
Brooklyn jumped surprised; he turned around and saw Garland making his way toward him from the double doors on the right of the building.
“Garland when did you get back?”
“About two hours ago. So what did I miss? Please say you recorded everything.” He smiled at the now blushing orange hair.
“You are a pervert.”
“So you’re a saint right? If I do recall Brook you are at times worse then myself.”
“Shut up. Tell me where is the group?”
‘They are at the hotel resting up. But I told then that you would join us for dinner so we can talk more.”
“Dinner? Oh but I had plans already.”
“You can bring Jin too. Just don’t go all love-dove on us okay?” He smirked at Brooklyn who in return glared at him.
“I know how to behave Garland!”
“Relax I am only teasing you. Well then shall we get started?”
“Give them a few more minutes to warm up.”
“Sure I will just warm up too.” With that he jumped up onto the stage.
“Show off.” The orange hair whispered.


Rei was busy stretching out his legs when he suddenly sees Tala and Raul making their way toward him.
“Hey Rei!” The red hair waved at the raven hair. Rei continued stretching.
“Hey you two.” He glanced up at them with a smile.
“How are you feeling?” The Spanish boy looked down at the stretching raven hair.
“Good and you two?”
“Rei what happened between you and your parents?” Tala kneeled down.
The raven hair stopped stretching and looked at the red head.
“Nothing.”
“What did your dad tell Kai?”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Raul told me that your dad asked him to show him who your lover was and shit…” Tala bit down his lower lip and looked away from the now wide-eyed raven hair.
“Tala I told you not to say anything!” Raul began to panic.
“Raul you told my old man that Kai was my lover?” He slowly stood up.
“No no I didn’t! He asked me and he begged me to show him who you were with.”
“You betrayed me by going and telling my old man that I was gay?” He slowly began to make his way toward the now scared Spanish boy
“Rei don’t you dare touch Raul!” Quickly the red head stood up and ran over to his lover and pulled him close.
“He decided to go and screw over my entire life by exposing a secret I didn’t want anyone to find out! I trusted you Raul!”
“It was an accident! I tried my best to deny it but he begged and knew! Rei I didn’t want to hurt you or Kai I just wanted you to be happy.”
“Happy!? You just ruined my life Raul! Some friend you are you went and opened your big mouth and told my old man that I was actually with someone!” Rei yelled out loud making everyone else in the room stopping and looking over at them.
“Rei I’m sorry…” The Spanish boy whispered.
“Sorry!?! Your sorry!? Oh wow that is really going to fix everything else now! Thanks a lot you fucking asshole!”
Suddenly rei was socked hard on the face making him fall on his butt. He looked up and saw an angry looking Tala hovering over him.
“Don’t you dare go and insult Raul! He didn’t mean to tell your dad! And you know what Rei you got a lot of nerve yelling at him and in public! To tell you the truth I was going to yell at you and beat the shit out of you but Raul begged me not to.”
“What are you talking about?” He looked up at the red head with blood dripping down his lower lip.
“You have only been thinking about yourself lately! What happened to the Rei I first met? What happened to the kind and friendly idiot that we both knew? Rei I promised Raul I wasn’t going to beat the crap out of you but you leave me no choice. Stay away from my lover and stay away from Kai! You already screwed with his emotions long enough so stay the fuck away from him and from us!” With that the red head grabbed the still shocked Raul from the wrist and dragged him away form the area. The raven hair watched as the two made their way out of the area, he then noticed that everyone on the stage was staring at him.
“What are you all looking at!? Mind your own damn business!”
Everyone then turned away and continued to warm up.
Rei began to slowly lift himself up.
“Need some help there buddy?”
He looked up and saw Garland looking down at him with his hand extended toward him.
“Thanks.” The raven hair accepted the gesture and with that the older man lifted the raven hair on his feet.
“Hey lets go out for some coffee?”
“But what about practice?”
“Just for 30 minutes okay?”
“But.”
“Come on.” Garland grabbed Rei by the wrist and dragged him out the backdoor.



“Hey Maxie!” Garland waved at the blond who was busy cleaning the counter.
“Oh Mr. Garland hello! What can I get for you today?”
“Just two cups of coffee oh and hey get me a cherry filled doughnut while your at it.”
“Right away! Please sit down anywhere you like!” He smiled at the two and made his way over to the coffee machine.
“Come on Kid sit down.” The older man pointed over to a table near the window. They both made their way toward it and took their seats.
“Garland why are we drinking coffee? Shouldn’t we be concern on getting ready for tomorrow night?” The raven hair looked over at the smiling man.
“Just chill kid. I got everything under control. So tell me why were you fighting with your friends?”
“It was nothing. Sorry I disturbed the class like that.”
“Hey chill out. I’m not Brooklyn. I don’t care what you did there hell you three could have been busy screwing each other for all I care.”
“What!?”
“Heh Rei, don’t tell me you are homophobic.”
“No sir I’m not. But it’s just that I don’t expect people to just say things like that.”
“Well get use to it cause I will constantly say things like that. Let me ask you Rei. Do you have a lover and I don’t mean Salima.”
“How do you know of Salima?”
“Kid your parents once raised me too. So in other words they end up calling me and telling me a lot of things. Your mom tells me that you and Kai are an item.”
“WHAT!? She told you what!?” The raven hair looked over at the older man with pure horror.
“Yup. But guessing from your reaction I take it that you really aren’t comfortable with him or the fact that you are with a man. Rei are you ashamed?”
“Garland why are you saying all of this?”
“Because I am worried about you, about your future. Like you know your parents asked me to take you with me back to China so you can end up joining me on my whole tour over Asia. Well to tell you the truth kid I am not planning on taking you anywhere. Reason being since you are not worthy of such an honor. The way you act, the way you react to others and the way you handle your situations. I am sorry to say but that is not what I want in a student or partner. Rei you have real talent in you I can tell by the way your eyes glow with this fire that only true and passionate artists have. But to tell you the truth your flame is slowly fading. Kid sorry to tell you this too but you are out of the production.”
“What!?” The raven hair jumped out of his chair and looked down at Garland with surprise and pain in his eyes.
“So please take your things and leave practice”
“But who will take my place? Garland please you can’t do this!”
“I’m afraid I can also Brooklyn agreed. I took a student from another class and placed him in your spot. Boris is his name and after that he will take over for Kai. Rei you are out of the performance.” Garland stood up.
“You can’t do this! Please don’t do this to me Garland! I am sorry for the outburst! I swear I will say sorry and never act like that again.” Tears began to form in his eyes.
“Sorry kid I made my decision. You can now just go home and marry. I already spoke with your parents about an hour ago so they already know. I wish it wouldn’t end this way but you left me with no other choice. Sorry Rei you just lost the fire that I once saw in you. Good bye kid.” With that the man headed out of the shop.
“Mr. Garland your coffee!” Max ran out after the man.
Rei watched as the two left the shop. Soon his vision was blurred with his hot tears that soon found there way down his cheeks.
‘This isn’t happening! No please tell me he was only joking!’ He fell to the ground on all fours and soon felt the tears streaming down his face. ‘No! Why is this happening!? This wasn’t supposed to happen! I just wanted to study and become a professional! I didn’t want to marry! Why!? Why is this happening!” The raven hair hugged himself and began to cry louder.






“Lanfei where is Rei?” Salima asked
“He should still be at practice. But tell me how are you feeling sweetie?”
“I fine.”
“But I mean after what happened?”
“Oh…I’m not sure. A bit hurt of course but to tell you the truth I still love Rei. And I think we can both work it out.”
“Salima dear I feel awful for forcing you two to marry like this.” The older women sighed.
“I’m actually happy Lanfei! I love Rei with all my heart and even though this one mistake happened I know for a fact that it will never happen to us ever again. I will make sure to keep him happy.” The red hair girl smiled at the older women who in return gave her a small smile.
“You are as sweet girl…but Salima maybe you should just forget about it. I mean you have plenty of time to find another person.”
“No Lanfei! We were destined to be married no matter what Rei did it wasn’t his fault. He was just confused and that guy just screwed with his mind.”
“Sweetie.”
“No! Stop trying to make me forget about Rei! Why are you going against me Lanfei!? Why!? You always treated me like your daughter why are you trying to push me away now!?”
“I’m not trying to push you away. I just don’t want you to get hurt. I don’t want to see Rei-rei hurt either.”
“Then don’t let him go for that guy! Your son isn’t gay Lanfei! He was just brainwashed!”
“Salima!”
“We will get married and that is that!” With that the girl stood from the chair and made her way out of the hotel room leaving a stun Lanfei in the room.
The women lowered her head and sighed.
‘Rei-rei I am so sorry. I am not a good mother after all.’ Tears began to fall.






Hours passed by and soon night came. Clouds surrounded the sky and the sound of thunder was heard.
“Tyson where do you think Rei could be at?” Miharu looked over at his lover who was busy typing away at his laptop.
“Practice babe. He is still at practice. After all tomorrow night is opening night.”
“I guess but it looks like it will begin to rain any minute now.”
“Relax babe he will get here. Oh but that means we will have to miss out on our trip huh?”
“Yeah…I hope he doesn’t get disappointed.”
“Nah! He will be alright and besides I bet he will be beat due to all the practice.” The bluenette went back to his typing.
“Yeah” The light blond sighed and went back to looking out the window.





It began to pour hard and no one was seen outside except for a certain raven hair who had his head down. He was walking in a slow pace under the cold rain.
‘Funny…today they said it was going to be sunny…’ Rei dragged his feet as if they were tied to bricks. ‘Is it a sign?’ He stopped outside of the college and looked up onto the dark sky. ‘What is there left now? My college is over now…I am no more in the dance production? If I am not in the production that means I am out of the class. I only have the option to marry Salima and take over my parent’s company. Is that it? Is there nothing else?’ A flash of lighting occurs and soon the low thundering noise is heard. ‘Maybe…is that it. If I end it all I will have nothing to worry about. No one will miss me.’ He looked across from him and saw the street and cars passing by. ‘Hell my entire life is already screwed up. Why do I want to live anymore right?’ He continued to look at the passing traffic. ‘But am I being a coward? Isn’t this running away?’ He continued to watch the cars and once more thunder roars. ‘I have nothing to leave for anymore. I will fly away. I just want to forget I want to start all over.’ Slowly the raven hair made his way toward the traffic. He stopped in the middle and waited. ‘I will just dream now. I will lose myself in a dream now.’ He closed his eyes and lifted his head up and smiled.
The lights of a car were seen and heading toward the raven hair. The horn was honked but Rei didn’t move. He stood there with a smile and tears falling down. The car got closer and the horn got louder. The raven hair stood there and waited for his up coming death.

*Dodges the angered readers* Okay that was mean of me. Like I would end it like that. Please I might be mean and yes I might write sad things but I would never make a character commit suicide. Just thinking that that is an only way out makes my heart ache. Cause it is painful when something like that occurs.
