Guardian Angel

PART 4

Virg flew the Guardian into the hanger of the peace million. She was the last to return from the final battle. The war was over. Finally over.
She opened the hatch and stood on it. She could see the five pilots rejoicing. Quatre and Trowa hugged each other, the two lovers finally able to live in peace. Duo ed oed on Heero, knocking both of them to the ground.
“It’s over Heero! We won!” Duo yelled.
Nataku stood opposite the Guardian. Wufei also stood on the hatch of his gundam, watching the others rejoicing. Wufei turned his head and saw Virg watching the others jumping and laughing.
Wufei pushed off his gundam and floated to Virg.

“I guess you’re not so weak afall all Virg,” Wufei said. He bowed his head, then looked into Virg’s bright green eyes. Virg smiled and nodded.
“Thanx Chan. That means a lot to me.” She said. Virg let out a small sigh, and returned to watch Duo swinging Heero around.

Wufei followed Virg’s gaze and saw she was looking at Duo and Heero. He turned back to Virg. She didn’t seem happy. She looked quite sad.
Virg looked back at Wufei.
“So what are you going to do now Chan?” she said softly. “The war’s over. There’s nothing here for us pilots..” her voice drifted off.
Wufei saw the sadness in her bright green eyes. He put one hand on her shoulder.
“There is something for us. Every one of us has something to live for. You probably haven’t seen it yet.” Wufei said.
Virg shook her head.
“No. I used to be able to see what I lived for, but..” She drifted off again, turning her head back to Heero and Duo.
Wufei looked back at Heero and Duo also. His eyes widened as he saw the two kissing each other passionately. Wufei’s eyes widened and he lifted one eyebrow. He hadn’t seen Heero and Duo kiss before.

“How long?” Wufei asked.
“After I left to go to Earth, I’d been gone for about 2 months. While I was gone, they fell in love with each other..” Virg bowed looked down at her feet.
Wufei saw her head bow and gave her a hug.
“Everything will be okay Virg. Are you only worrying about not being loved?”
Virg nodded.
“There’s no-one for me. I can get a job anywhere, but my life’s meaningless if I don’t have someone to love.”
Wufei held her shoulders, and held Virg at arms length. Virg looked into Wufei’s exotic eyes.
“You may not be loved in that way right now Virg, but when you think about it, we all love each other; whether as a family, or as lovers. Don’t worry about being alone. You’ll find someone. Remember, we’re all only 17. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you Virg.”
Virg closed her eyes and nodded.
“Thanks Wu” Vi” Virg smiled.

“So..what are you love birds doing?” Duo asked cheekily as he floated towards Wufei and Virg.
“Shut up Maxwell,” Wufei smiled.
“Virg, are you okay?” Duo asked. His face was more serious this time.
Virg nodded.
Duo smiled again.
“Well, what are you two waiting for? Lets go party!” He squealed.

* * * * *

“I’m so excited Heero!o who whispered. Heero held Duo’s knee, rubbing it gently.
“Hn,” Heero grunted.
“I still cant believe Zechs and Chan are a couple now!” Duo put his hand on top of Heero’s.
They were on a commercial flight to Earth. Wufei told them he’d moved in with Zechs and asked Duo and Heero to visit.

“What time did you say they were coming?” the platinum blonde said to Wufei. Wufei looked at his watch.
“Well, their flight should be arriving soon. I hate airports. I can’t wait until they get here so we can go.” Wufei crossed his arms.
Zechs put his hand on Wufei’s shoulder.
“Stop fussing Wu.”

The platinum blonde and the three pilots entered the large white mansion.
“This is my home guys,” Zechs said proudly.
Duo looked up in awe.
“Nice place,ero ero commented. Virg and Duo opened Heero up. He wasn’t quiet and emotionless anymore.
“Thanx,” Zechs said. He took off his trench coat and placed it on the arm of the couch. “Feel free to look around guys. Pick whichever bedroom you want to stay in. I’m not fussed.”

Duo’s eyes lit up. He grabbed Heero’s arm and pulled him up the large white staircase.
“Come on Heero!” Duo squealed.
Zechs looked at Wufei.
“Lively,” He smiled.

It was 1am, and everyone was in bed. Zechs stood on the balcony naked, staring at the night sky.
‘Beautiful’ he thought to himself.
Zechs turned around, leaning his back on the balcony. He could see his lover Wufei sleeping. He liked seeing Wufei sleep. He looked so peaceful and calm. Zechs smiled to himself. He was about to enter his room again when a faint sound caught Zech’s attention. He turned and looked out to the mansion next door. Along the long and winding road he could hear the faint sound of a motorbike heading for the mansion next door.
‘I guess I’m making breakfast for one more tomorrow,’ he thought to himself. He smiled and headed back to bed.

Heero woke up that morning to the sound of birdirpiirping outside the window. The sun entered the room slowly.
‘Forgot to close the curtains,’ he thought to himself.
He looked at his lover, Duo, resting his head on Heero’s chest. He could feel Duo breathing on his chest. Heero ran his hands through Duo’s loose hair.
*clack *
Heero frowned and looked at the door. The handle was pushed down and someone was entering the room. His eyes widened as he saw who it was.
“Baby bro!” Virg screamed. She ran as fast as she could towards the bed, jumping on top of Duo and Heero. Heero let out an ‘umph’ as she landed on the two lovers, hugging them both.
Heero smiled.
“Baby sis!” he replied. He hugged Virg and kissed her on the cheek.

After the war, Heero and Virg accepted each other as brother and sister. They didn’t know who was older, so they called each other ‘little bro’ or ‘little sis’.

Duo started to stir as Virg landed on the bed. He opened his eyes slowly, still trying to process who had landed on him.
“Virg!” He screamed! Virg disengaged from Heero and hugged Duo.
“How have you been?” she asked.
Heero smiled.
“We’ve been alright. How did you know we were here?” Heero asked.
Virg stood up on the bed.
“I didn’t. I just came back from another hired assassination and I came by to visit Zechs and Wu. Zechs told me you guys were here, so I came up to say hi!”

Duo smiled.
“re are a hired assassin?”
Virg nodded.
“I gotta earn a living somehow,” she shrugged. “Come on! You’re missing breakfast! Zech’s makes a mean meal!” she squealed and ran out of the room.

Virg ran downstairs and into the kitchen. Zechs was cooking pancakes.
“Need some help Milly?” Virg asked cheekily. Zechs grunted.
“I told you not to call me Milly. Call me Milliardo or Zechs. When you call me Milly, it sounds like a girls name,” He said, not taking his eyes off the pancakes.
Virg walked up to the stove where Zechs was.
“Sorry Mil,” she grinned. “So, you need a hand?” Virg ran her hand down Zech’s neck and placed it on his shoulder.
Zechs raised one eyebrow at his former enemy. They’d become friends after the war. Virg hinted her affection to Zechs, but he tried to shrug them off as friendly foreplay.
“Wufei will be down soon,” Zechs said. Virg nodded and got out some plates and placed them on the table.

Wufei walked in with Heero and Duo 2 steps behind him.
“Morning!” Duo said cheerfully.
“If you took any longer, it’ll be afternoon soon Duo,” Virg commented.
The four pilots sat at the table as Zechs placed the pancakes on the table.

“How long are you here for bro?” Virg asked Heero.
“Heero finished what he was chewing.
“I don’t know yet. I bought a place for me and Duo in the L4 colony. We haven’t moved in yet, but for now, we’re just visiting until we overstay our welcome,”
Duo shoved another piece of pancake in his mouth.
“The way Zechs cooks, I never want to leave!” He muffled.
Zechs felt a foot brush his ankle under the table. Zechs looked up and stared at Virg.
“What?” Virg asked as she ate another pancake.
Zechs shook his head and looked at Duo. Duo had a cheeky smile on his face. Zechs raised one eyebrow.

Virg stood and took her plate to the sink.
“Thank you for breakfast Zechs! I’m so full!” She complimented. Zechs smiled and nodded.
Virg headed for the door.
“I’m sorry guys, but I got to get back home. I told Hilde we’d go shopping, and lunch.”
Duo looked up, his mouth still full of food.
“Hilde? She here too?” he muffled.
Virg smiled and nodded. We share that big mansion next door.
Duo looked at her cheekily.
“Are you two...” he drifted off, making actions with his hands.
Virg’s eyes changed to dark green.
“No Duo. Remember, I’m 100 percent straight.” She said as she exited the room.
“I’ll let her out,” Zechs said as he followed Virg out of the room.

Zechs walked with Virg to the door.
“I had another dream Zechs,” she began. “Wufei’s going to live with Heero and Duo in space.” She stopped at the door and looked up at the platinum blonde. Zechs noticed how her eyes were bright green again.
She put her hand on his chest and lookt itt it. Zechs held her hand and kissed it.
“Don’t worry about me Virg..” He whispered. He bent down and kissed her on the cheek.

Virg looked up into Zech’s bright blue eyes.
“I still remember when I came to kill you. You looked so beautiful. I always knew I could never be worthy of someone like you..” She looked down at the door handle and turned it. Zechs put his hand on hers, stopping her from opening the door.
“You don’t have to be worthy to love someone,” Zechs smiled. He bent down again and kissed Virg passionately. Virg returned the kiss. She pushed her tongue into Zech’s mouth, pulling it back and forth. After a moment he pulled back.
“Not right now Virg. I don’t know why, but I don’t think it’s right.”
Virg smiled and watched as Zechs stood straight up again. She was a lot shorted than he was. She was about up to his chin.
“You know why I love you Zechs? Because you’re not like the Gundam pilots.. There’s something different about you,” she smiled.

“Thly tly thing that makes me different is that I used to be a tyrant. I was blind as the leader of the White fang. Even *you* tried to kill me,” Zechs ran his fingers through Virg’s wavy brown hair.

Virg shook her head.
“Don’t think about the past. The war’s over. Everyone’s at peace now. You’re different because you’re not like Duo, Heero, or the others. You’re like me. You only want one love. The others don’t mind sharing each other around. I was heart broken when Duo and Heero became lovers..” Virg bowed her head. Zechs hugged Virg.

“Everything’s going to be alright. Come, you’re going to be late Virg. Come by later, and bring Hilde.” He said
Virg nodded and headed out the door. She stopped and turned to face Zechs.
“I love you Zechs.”
Zechs smiled and closed the door.

“I swear! You make the best food Zechs! If you weren’t a soldier, you could’ve been a cook!” Hilde smiled. Her mouth was half full of food.
Zechs nodded his head.
“Thank you Hilde.”

Hilde turned and faced Duo and Heero.
“Have you gone site seeing around here? The beach is the best! And It’s so sunny today!” she said.
Duo looked up from his meal, then looked at Heero.
“Why don’t we look around this city?!” He asked Heero. Heero nodded and smiled.
“That sounds nice Hilde. You want to be our tour guide?” Heero asked Hilde. Hilde smiled. She turned to Wufei, Virg and Zechs.
“You guys wan to come?” she asked.
Wufei nodded.
“Why not!” Wufei exclaimed.
Zechs shook his head.
“I’ll stay behind.” He said.
Virg looked at Hilde.
“I’ll pass too,” she said.

Virg helped Zechs clean up the kitchen as the pilots got ready to go out.
“I swear! Those guys take longer than me to get ready. And they haven’t got a lot of stuff in their backpacks!” Virg exclaimed.
Zechs nodded. He washed the last plate and put it on the rack. He wiped his hands and turned to Virg who was drying the plates.

“You were right Virginia,” Zech said.
Virg paused and put the plate down. She looked up at Zechs with her bright green eyes.
“Right about what Zechs?” she asked.
“Wufei told me today that he’s going to space with Heero and Duo.” Zechs looked down.
“He said I could come too, but I told him my place is here.” Virg saw the sadness in his face, and hugged Zechs around the waist. Zechs hugged Virg back.
“I hate that there’s no war anymore. I feel helpless. I feel like I can’t help anyone anymore,” Virg said. “I feel like I cant help you’re troubles with Wufei. If we were still in the wars, all we had to do was blow somethor sor someone up!”

Zechs was surprised with her answer. Virg suffered the most from the war coming to an end. She’s been trained to kill, fight and shoot. But with the war over, she didn’t have anyone to go ‘home’ with; No one to get her mind off the wars. Her first two loves, Heero and Duo, left together to live a new life. Trowa and Quatre went back to the Winner satellite and began running the business together. Wufei went back to his family in one of the space colonies before falling in love with Zechs. Virg left the peace million that day on her own and alone. She’d taken up the job of a hired government assassin because it made her feel better; made her feel like she was still fighting.

Zechs pulled away from the hug and bent down to kiss Virg on the cheek. Virg turned her head and caught Zechs’s lips. Zechs wasprisprised and pulled back.

He stood up again and looked into Virg’s bright green eyes.
Virg’s eyes became watery. She turned so she had her back to Zechs.
“Wufei was wrong,” she muttered
Zechs frowned.
“What do you mean?” Zechs asked.
“When the war was over, Wu said that I’d find my reason for moving on. I haven’t done that. I haven’t moved on from the war like you guys have. Wufei said that one day I’ll find someone who loves me. I loved Duo and especially Heero. I should never have left the peace million then!” she cried.

Zechs didn’t know what Virg meant by the last part, but he figured it had something to do with Duo and Heero falling in love with each other.
Zechs put his hand on Virg’s shoulder. Virg ignored it and walked into the living room. She sat down on the end of the soft blue couch.
Zechs followed. He could hear Wufei coming down the stairs.

“Zechs! We’re going now! Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Wufei asked.
Wufei entered the room and saw the back of Virg. She had her head down and wasn’t moving. Wufei looked back at Zechs.
“What’s wrong with Virginia?” he whispered to Zechs.
Zechs motioned for Wufei to leave the room.
“Come, lets leave her for a while,” he said. After they left the room, Zechs said to Wufei,
“She’s still having troubles from the war being over. It’s been almost 6 months since it ended, and yet she still hasn’t let go. She said something about you being wrong; that no-one loves her still.”

Wufei looked iZechZech’s blue eyes.
“She has to learn to let go. Give her time. It may take longer for her. She feels she has to go through it alone. She has to realize that she isn’t alone, that she has us.” Wufei said wisely.

Zechs bent down and kissed Wufei.
“How did you become so wise?” he whispered. “When do you leave for space?”
Wufei held Zech’s hand and looked at the platinum blonde.
“Next week,” Wufei said sadly. Zechs looked at the floor.
“Don’t you love me Wu?” Zechs asked.
Wufei reached up and lifted Zechs’s head so he was log ing into his eyes.
“I love you with all my heart Zechs, But this is something I want to do.”
Zechs nodded. Hilde, Duo and Heero came down the stairs.
“Let’s go guys!” Duo squealed as he skipped out the door.
“Baka,” Heero grunted.

Zechs closed the door behind them as they left the house. He returned to the living room where he’d left Virg.
Virg lay down on the couch. She wasn’t asleep, but was dazing into nothing. She saw Zech’s enter the room and sat up.
“You don’t have to get up.” Zechs said quietly.
“Nah, nah, it’s okay.”
Zechs sat down next to Virg. Virg leaned her head on his shoulder.
“Do you love Wufei?” Virg asked quietly.
“With all my heart,” Zech said.
“Duo asked me once, if it’s possible to love more than one person at once. What do you think?” Virg shifted her head, and looked up at the blonde. Her bright green eyes stared up at Zechs’s bright blue eyes. Zechs thought about it for a moment, then he spoke.

“I used to believe that a person never really knew love unless they loved only one person. After becoming friends and sometimes lovers with you pilots, I’ve changed my mind that it is possible to love more than one,” Zechs paused for a moment, then began talking again. “No matter how many I love, I still want only one. Some one who is only mine, and vice versa. Wufei wasn’t that guy. He’s gone with Heero and Duo. They’ll probably have threesomes until their brains fall out..” Zechs muttered.
Virg giggled. Zechs smiled at the fact that he’d made Virg laugh. He shifted in his seat to face Virg. He hugged her tightly.

Virg looked up at Zechs.
“That’s how I feel. I want one and only one for me. My little bro, Duo, and Wufei, they know how to love, but I don’t think they know true love.”

Virg moved in on Zechs for a kiss. Zechs held Virg on the arms, pulling her towards him. Virg moved on top of Zechs. She was sitting on his lap, with one leg on either side of him. She held his face in her hands as Zechs put his hands on either side of her ass, caressing softly.

“Be mine, and only mine Milliardo..” Virg whispered, moving in to kiss Zechs passionately...
