Chapter 42



Rei laid in silence. He looked over at his digital clock and saw the red numbers glowing two-thirty. He sighed and looked over to where the dual hair was sleeping. Kai’s entire side was halfway gone. The only things left behind were his bed, the nightstand, and a lamp. Other then that everything else was packed up. The raven hair looked across the darkness and tried to admire the dual hair’s sleeping form.
‘A few more hours and he will soon be gone from my life.’ He closed his eyes and let out a small breath. ‘Do I want him out of my life? Do I truly love him? Is that the reason why I feel like my heart is going to burst? Am I feeling this pain due to him leaving?’ Rei let out a breath in frustration and began to rub his eyes. He sat up and looked over at Kai who was still sleeping. The raven hair slowly removed the covers from him, as if he didn’t wish to awaken the dual hair. He slowly stood from his bed and walked over to Kai. He stood at the foot of the bed and waited for a moment. In a few seconds Rei slowly climbed onto the bed and began to crawl on all fours toward Kai. He slowly made his way until he was inches away from his face. The raven hair looked down at the sleeping form of the dual hair and began to admire the calm look. The moonlight that seeped through the curtains illuminated Kai’s face, allowing a soft glow to show the raven hair the gorgeous face in front of him. He lifted his hand and began to move away a few strands of hair that covered his face. He moved aside the bangs that soon came back into place. Rei slowly leaned down and softly placed his lips on top of the dual hair’s. Rei pulled away and looked down at the dual hair.
“Shit!” The raven hair fell back. Kai was staring back at the now frighten Rei.
“What are you doing?” Kai lifted himself up on his elbows and looked at the still surprised raven hair.
“I uh…well you see…I saw a mosquito on your nose!” Rei’s face slowly gained a bit of red across the bridge of his nose.
“And kissing me was suppose to get rid of it?” Kai cocked one eyebrow up in suspicion.
“Family superstition…” He gave a small smile at Kai.
“Rei what the hell are you doing? Do you have any idea what time it is?”
“Yeah…I just…I’m feeling a bit you know.” The raven hair looked down and felt his cheeks heating up.
“So what? You expect me to just help you out with that? It’s almost three; I need to get up early. Now get off. You can always use your hands.” The dual hair tried to push off the raven hair, but instead he had a pair of hot lips on top of his. The dual hair tried to push away the raven hair but it was useless. Rei slipped his tongue out and ran it over Kai’s lower lip. The dual hair gave out a growl and pulled the raven hair down lower. The dual hair began to nibble on Rei’s lower lip making the raven hair give out a small sigh. The raven hair opened his mouth allowing Kai’s warm tongue to make his way inside. The raven hair let out a low moan as he felt the dual hair’s hot tongue swirl around and tangling with his. The dual hair sucked lightly on Rei’s tongue drawing out another low moan from the raven hair. Kai pulled away from the passionate kiss and began to place light kisses all over Rei’s face. The dual hair placed soft kisses down on the raven hair’s chin and slowly made his way down to his neck. Kai bit down onto his neck making the raven hair gasp in surprise and pain. Rei pulled away and looked down at Kai with surprise and anger.
“What the hell? Did you just bite me?” He growled at the dual hair.
“Get off. I don’t want this. I need to sleep.” He roughly pushed the raven hair off of him making Rei fall onto the ground with a loud thump.
“Ouch! You bastard!” Rei glared up at the dual hair. “Why did you do that?”
“Idiot. I told you to knock it off. Now get to bed before I decide to throw you out the window instead.” With that he lay back down and covered himself.
The raven hair sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. He bit down on his lower lip and felt the tears forming in his eyes. He sniffed hard trying to hold back the tears. He slowly began to lift himself off from the floor.
‘Bastard…’ The raven hair was about to walk over to his bed when he suddenly felt a hand wrapped around his wrist. “Kai?” Rei squinted in the dark to try and make out the dual hair’s face.
“Come here.” He pulled the raven hair onto his bed and pulled him close to his chest. “Just sleep okay.” He kissed Rei on the top of his head and hugged the raven hair tighter.
“Kai I…”
“Sleep. You can tell me in the morning.” He tilted the raven hair’s face up and placed a soft kiss on his lips. He pulled the covers from under Rei and covered him with them. The raven hair snuggled deeper onto Kai’s chest and closed his eyes.
‘This feels nice…’ He smiled to himself as he slowly began to drift to sleep.



Rei turned over to his side as he felt the bothersome light of morning hitting his face. He thought he was about to find Kai still sleeping next to him but instead he ended up tumbling off the bed.
“What the?” The raven hair opened his eyes slowly allowing them to adjust. Finally he was able to make out his surroundings. He glanced over to where Kai’s bed was only he found the large bed gone. The raven hair quickly jumped to his feet and scanned the room. It was completely empty except for his things. He looked down at the clock and it read 11 am.
“He left!?” Rei quickly tossed his shirt onto his bed and rummaged through his closet for some new clean clothes.
He was soon dressed and he made his way out of the room hoping to find Kai in the kitchen, but it was empty as well.
‘Did he leave already? How was I not able to hear the movers take his bed away?’ The raven hair grabbed his jacket and made his way out the door.




The raven hair made his way down the stairs; he stopped on the second floor seeing Raul stepping out of his room.
“Oh Rei! Morning, how are you?” He made his way toward the raven hair with a small smile.
“Raul have you seen Kai?”
“Yeah he left for the airport with Tala about an hour ago.”
“What! Raul which airport?”
“Um…I’m not sure.”
“Damn!”
“Rei what’s wrong?”
“Never mind, anyways I’ll see you later I need to go.”
“Uh Rei wait!”
The raven hair turned to look at the Spanish boy.
“Yeah?”
“Do you mind if I go with you? I mean to keep you company.”
Rei looked at Raul for a bit and gave a small smile.
“Sure. It’s been a while since we hung out.”
“Great!” He smiled widely and soon they both began to walk out of the building.
They made it out of the building and both begin to walk toward the exit of the college.
They walked in silence until finally the Spanish boy decided to speak up.
“Rei um why were you looking for Kai?” A hint of curiosity was heard in his voice.
“Nothing important…I just wanted to tell him by and to wish him a bit of luck since I might one day beat his sorry ass.” Rei lightly chuckled.
Raul frowned slightly getting the feeling that the raven hair was lying to him.
“Oh.” Was all the Spanish boy was able to say. They continued to walk through the college passing by students heading for class or just hanging around the water fountain or sitting on benches reading or talking with friends. The raven hair only glanced around the giant school realizing how beautiful it truly was.
‘Wow…who would have guessed this place actually looked like this?’ He let out a sigh and ran his hand through his hair. ‘Man I wish I can just start all over.’
“Hey Rei!”
The raven hair was pulled out of his thoughts when he noticed Takao waving at him.
“Hey.”
“You need a ride?” The bluenette pointed behind him directing to his jeep.
“I thought you and Mihaeru were going to go visit your grandfather this weekend?” Rei looked at the smiling Takao in confusion.
“We told his grandfather and he understands.” The light blond called out from the jeep waving at the two boys.
“We want to see how your mom is doing as well. Mihaeru made a lunch for us all, we were thinking that maybe your mother would like to go and spend time out over at Butterfly Grove Mountain.”
“I’m not sure.”
“Well we don’t have to drive far away, just as long as your mother gets some air. So come on.” The light blond signaled for them to walk over to the jeep.
“Thanks you guys.” He smiled at them and they walked over to Takao’s jeep.




“Attention! Flight 36 is now boarding all passengers. Flight 36 is now boarding.”
The women announced into the speaker allowing all passengers to get ready to leave.
“Are you sure you want to leave now Kai?” Tala stood up with Kai as soon as the announcement finished.
“Why is everyone trying to keep me here?” He glanced over at the red head.
“I just don’t want you to regret it if you think you are not ready.”
“First Jin, then Rei and today during breakfast Julia cried at the restaurant telling me the same thing. Now it’s you.”
“I…I guess I’m just going to miss you.”
“Whatever.”
“Aren’t you going to miss anyone?” The red head looked at the dual hair as he slowly started to walk toward the gate.
“No.”
“Not even Rei?”
“Why should I miss him?”
“Cause you love him.”
“I don’t love that idiot. Now drop it.”
“I guess I’m glad to hear that.”
Kai stopped and looked over at Tala in curiosity.
“Why is that?”
“Rei isn’t good for you. Well no one. He is just a selfish arrogant little bastard now. The way he constantly yells at others, the way he played with your emotions.”
“You can’t blame him. A lot has happened to him, he just isn’t use to it.”
“That is still no excuse. We all went through a lot as well, and you don’t see us being mean to everyone.”
“Tala do you know how it feels to lose someone?”
“No…”
“Then I am sorry to say but you have no right to say things about Rei. He is going through a lot now and I think he deserves some sympathy at the moment.” He stopped in front of the gate and turned around to look at his friend.
“But he toyed with your feelings.”
The dual hair only looked at the red head for a bit and gave a small smile. A true smile Tala had never seen in his entire life.
“You must know the truth Tala. I don’t care if he never said he loved me back or that he always called me a coldhearted bastard. I know I told him to never toy with my emotions but the truth is I didn’t care as long as I was near that idiot. The truth is that I still love him no matter what. It just hurts me that I am the one deciding to leave him.” With that he picked up his bag and hugged his red headed friend. “Please take care of yourself and if you can please watch over my idiot. Thanks for sticking by me.”
“Kai…”
“Don’t worry I will still keep in touch. Good bye.” With that he made his way into the gate leaving a now sadden Tala behind.
‘No matter how much I try to hate that idiot for making Kai sad…I cannot.’ The red head sighed and watched his friend disappear. “Good bye Kai”




Rei felt a sharp pain hit his heart and he quickly clutched onto his chest.
“Are you okay Rei?” Raul looked over at the raven hair who had his head down.
‘Why is my heart aching? Is it dad…is something wrong with dad?’ He heard the roar of a plane flying above them and he glanced up to watch as the plane made its way past them. ‘Kai…could it be that my heart aches because of him?’ Tears began to form in his eyes. ‘My heart aches because of you…’ He clutched tighter as he felt the pain increase. ‘It feels like I am about to die…Kai…’ Before he knew it the raven hair passed out.
“REI!” The Spanish boy yelled out.
