PART 4

[world conference: Moscow, Russia]

“It’s alright Heero. I really don’t need you to play bodyguard for me today. Duo said that Gabriel won’t be coming back.” Relena whispered to Heero.

Heero sat beside Relena on the stage of the gigantic conference center in Moscow. Next to them on the far end of the stage, sitting down, were diplomats, ministers, etc.

Heero didn’t reply. He continued to sit in his chair, next to Relena. Heero looked up to his right. Up on the balcony was Duo, half hiding behind the curtaining. Duo smiled as he looked back at Heero. Heerilediled back. On the left balcony was Wufei. Wufei was surveying the crowd for any threats.

‘What a waste of time,’ Wufei thought to himself.

“I agree,” Cyprien said.

Wufei turned around.
“I thought you were surveying the entrances.”

Cyprien shook her head.
“Trowa and Quatre finally arrived, so I asked them to do it.”

Wufei looked confused.
“Why did you leave your post? We’re supposed to be protecting Relena. You’re being careless, and being careless makes you weak.”

Cyprien leaned on the railing of the balcony and surveyed the crowd below.
“Like I said before.. I agree that this is a waste of time. I know Gabriel, and this isn’t his style... going for the weak. He’s the angel of war and chaos. Relena doesn’t even hit his radar in the big picture. Gabriel loves wars. To him it’s exciting. He probably wants to keep the war going. Now, if he *was* to kill Relena, the only thing it would accomplish is that both Space and Earth would blame each other for her assassination. That’ll lead nowhere. No.. If I were in his shoes, I’d go for the strongest person.. The hero.. The one who can stop the war, and has many loyal companions-“

“He’s going after Heero! It never was about Relena!! We’ve been set up!” Wufei grumbled as he ran for the stairs, leaving Cyprien behind.

“We wont make it in time!!” Cyprien yelled back.

White mist twisted up from the floor and encircled Cyprien. She teleported herself to the back of the stage. Dodging past the guards at the bottom of the stage, Cyprien ran toward Heero, still sitting with Relena.

“Heero! It’s you! Not Relena!! We’ve been set up!” Cyprien yelled as the four guards grabbed her arms, holding her back. “Let go of me! You don’t know what you’re doing!!”

Heero turned to Relena.
“You’re in no danger now.” Heero walked towards the guards holding Cyprien.
“Let her go. She’s a private bodyguard for Relena Peacecraft. Unhand her.” The stoic boy commanded. The guards complied and let go. Heero, still standing on the stage, watched as Cyprien yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

“Come on Heero, you cant stay here!” Cyprien waved for him to come with her. Heero nodded and followed. By the time Heero and Cyprien had reached the back exit to the conference center, Duo, Wufei and Quatre were already there waiting.

“I think it’s about time we skadaddle outa here dontchink!ink!” Duo joked as they exited through the door.

Trowa sat in the black stolen jeep with the engine running.
“Time to go,” Trowa yelled as the remaining Gundam pilots ran towards the jeep. “It’s dark, so it’s going to be harder to see if Gabriel’s coming.”

Cyprien sat in the back with Wufei and Quatre.
“Heero! Duo! Hurry up will ya!” Quatre yelled.
o sao saw something shiny in the bushes to his left. A sharp noise pieced the air.
“Look out!” Duo yelled as he jumped onto Heero, pushing both of them to the floor.

“Duo!” Heero yelled. The gundam pilots exited the jeep and headed for Heero and Duo, both still lying on the floor.

“Duo’s been shot. He’s losing a lot of blood! Trowa! Do something!” Quatre cried. Trowa nodded.

Cyprien stood up from her crouching position.
“a, ya, you heal Duo. I’m going to get Gabriel.”

“He’s lost too much blood, but I’ll try.” Trowa replied.

Wufei stood up also.
“I’m coming with you.” Wufei said in his arrogant voice.

Cyprien nodded and they both ran towards the tree line in the direction of where the shot came from.

Gabriel jumped down from branch he was perched on. He threw down the rifle he used to shoot Duo with, and rolled up his sleeves.
“Well well well. Here to defeat me Cyprien? Doubt you’ll be able to.”

Wufei and Cyprien separated. Cyprien took the right side of Gabriel, while Wufook ook the left.

“What makes you so sure Gabriel? You’re human remember,” Cyprien snickered. As she and Wufei prowled around Gabriel like two lionesses around their kill, Gabriel laughed.

“I’ve sold my sold to the evil powers. In return, I get more power than I’ve ever had before. No one can stop me now! War will continue forever! Looks like you can become tngelngel of war and chaos after all! The position’s vacant now Cyprien.. Want it?”

“No thanks Gabriel. Not if it means I’ll become you!” She yelled.
Wufei watched cautiously. The white mist encircled Cyprien as she walked slowly. The mist slowly disappeared to reveal Cyprien wearing a deep blue sleeveless top and her blue pants. Her white wings seemed to glow in the moonlight.

“Funny.. I used to think being an angel and having the wings was what separated us from the dirty humans. It elevated us higher than test est of them! But by the way you protect them.. You disgust me!” Gabriel yelled. He spat at the floor in Cyprien’s direction.

Gabriel held his hands in front of his stomach, as if he were holding an invisible ball just in front of him. A bright red ball glistened between the palms of his hands. It grew brighter, and bigger. Wufei stood to Gabriel’s right and watched as Gabriel and Cyprien stood facing each othe

‘If I’m going to get a chance, this is going to be it!’ Wufei thought to himself.

Cyprien saw in the corner of her eye, partially behind Gabriel was Wufei. She watched as huge flames began to sprout of the ground, forming a tight circle around Wufei. The flame grew higher and higher. Wufei could no longer be seen, as the flames grew into a gigantic dragon made of fire.
The dragon flew past the trees, singeing everything it passed.

Cyprien looked back at Gabriel, whom by now had made the red ball about the size of a basketball.

‘I got to make sure he doesn’t see what Wufei’s doing! Cyprien said to herself.

“Come on! Is that *all* you got!!” She yelled at Gabriel.

Gabriel laughed maniacally.
“My dear sweet Cyprien, this isn’t for you! It’s for HIM!!” Gabriel shouted as her turned and threw the red ball at Wufei.

The ball flew through thee dre dragon, and into the ring of fire. Wufei screamed in pain as the energy ball threw him out of the fire. The dragon and the fire both disappeared.

Gabriel laughed as Cyprien ran towards Wufei.

“Are you alright?” Cyprien crouched next to Wufei on the damp grass.
“I’m fine. Get him Cyprien!” Wufei groaned.

Gabriel walked towards Cyprien and Wufei until he was a few feet away.
“You can’t hurt me Cyprien. You’re useless!” He snickered.

Cyprien felt the rage boiling up inside her. She looked at Wufei and clenched her fist.
“You hurt my friends.. The one’s I love!” She yelled.
She turned around quickly and faced her palm out at Gabriel, in a ‘stop’ gesture. A shockwave shot out from Cyprien’s hand and threw Gabriel over 100 feet, towards the conference center.

“Come on Wufei! We’ve got to go! That shockwave wont stop him! Can you run?”

“Heero..” Duo mumbled.
“Duo! You’re alright!” Heero hugged Duo.

“Guys, we have incoming!” Quatre yelled as Gabriel’dy cdy came flying their way. The dark haired man flew over the pilots and hit the ground hard. The figure remained limp.. and Gabriel appeared to be dead.

The gundam pilots stood up and faced the limp body.
“Shit! He’s getting up! Shouldn’t he be dead by now!?” Quatre squealed. Trowa put his arm around Quatre’s shoulder.

Duo held out the palm of his hand. A black mist twisted out into the shape of a rod. Within the blink of an eye, a black scythe was in Duo’s hands.

“Time to finish this.” Duo commanded. “Gabriel.. I told you never to mess with the great Shinigami!”
