Chapter 51

~A week later~

Takao and Mihaeru looked at the raven hair as he slowly ate his meal. The light blond looked over at his lover with concern. The bluenette rubbed the back of his neck as he tried to think of something to say.
“So Rei how’s production?” He looked over at Rei who stopped poking at his meal.
“Okay, still not sure who the female lead is though.”
“But isn’t opening night this Friday?” Mihearu looked over at the raven hair.
“Yeah, I tried to ask Brooklyn or Garland, but they just ignore my question and leave me there still confused.” He grabbed his hot chocolate and took a sip from it.
“Not even your mom or old man, know of it?”
He shook his head ‘no’ and pushed aside his meal. The light blond bit his lower lip, he noticed the raven hair was not eating properly and it was making him worried.
“Any other of the classmates know, maybe the singing group?” The bluenette glanced over at the raven hair.
“I asked Jejung but he said he was not sure neither does anyone else. I have no clue why they have not mentioned her. I need to know what to do when we dance together.”
“Maybe Garland decided to remove the girl part.”
“Doubt it babe. Well don’t freak about it Rei. I’m sure it will turn out fantastic at the end.”
“Yeah I know.” He looked at his cell phone. “I need to get going, I got to go get my outfit done. They gave my first one to one of the Dong Bong boys” Rei smiled as he slowly stood up.
“Hey want to go out for a movie or something tonight?” Takao asked as he watched his friend grab a hold of his tray.
“I’ll call to let you know okay?”
“Sure thing. Take care buddy.”
“Be careful Rei.”
“Thanks, bye you two.” With that he made his way out of the cafeteria.
“You worried about him babe?” The bluenette wrapped his arm around his lover’s shoulder.
“Yes, but I am sure you are too.”
“Yeah.”
“He is so sad now.”
“He sure is.” Takao began to slowly stroke his light blonde’s lower back as his lover began to eat. ‘I’m going to have a word with Kai…that bastard better listen or he will lose some serious teeth.’



Rei stood on the footstool as he looked down, watching the pink haired girl measure his legs.
“Sorry about the whole first outfit Rei. Garland just asked me to give it to Junsu, of course with some alterations” Mariah sighed as she stood up to mark down the measurements on her pad.
“It’s fine, you are the one who I am sorry for.”
“Huh why?”
“Cause you need to finish up my costume before this Friday, and you have others to work on as well.”
“Ah very true. I am like Cinderella, but soon I shall go to the ball with my beloved prince charming.” She closed her hands together and looked up as if she were staring at a sky full of stars.
Rei just chuckled.
“And who is this prince charming you speak of?”
“Not you for sure.” She smiled back at the raven hair that at first looked at her in surprised but then grinned.
“I am guessing you already have someone in mind correct?”
”Yup, I am already taken. Disappointed?” She looked at the raven hair with a cheeky smile.
“A bit but I think I will get over it.”
“Good.” She grabbed his arm and extended the measuring tape over it.
“So who is he, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Oh well he does not attend here that’s for sure. He is in Kaiser River University.”
“Where is that?”
“About an 8 hour drive from here.”
“Wow, so you are in a long distance relationship?”
“Yes. We have been together for about four years now.”
“Four years? And you still aren’t sick of each other or complaining since you both are a while away?”
“Nope, we visit during the weekends, holidays and breaks. And we are still happily in love together.” She wrote it down and made her way toward his other arm. “He is coming to see the production, he wants to admire my costumes. He enjoys my work. You can say it is like art to him.” She smiled and once more jotted down the measurements.
“That is great to hear.”
“Yeah. Your sleeves need to be extended a little more, Garland wants them to cover your hands.”
“Oh.”
“Let’s check out the legging once more.” She kneeled down and began to measure the legging part.
‘She is in a relationship where mostly every couple breaks off after a few months, yet they are still together and she sounds like there is no trouble at all…I envy her.’ He looked down at the pink haired that was placing pins on the hem of the pants.
“I’ll be sure to introduce you.”
“That sounds great.” He smiled at her as she smiled back at him.
“Well I have all measurements down, now I just need to sew it up and tomorrow we can see how it turned out. Sounds good?”
“You are going to work on it all night?”
“Yup.” She began to note down the last measurements allowing the raven hair to drop down in order to remove the outfit.
“What about classes?”
“Don’t worry about me. You should worry more about yourself.” She began to fold up the material.
“What are you talking about?”
“Go home and eat something, and get some sleep. Rei I am not sure what is going on in your life but don’t let it destroy you at such a young age. Your parents won’t like it. Sorry if I am sounding like a nosy adult, I am only concern.” She grabbed the outfit from the raven hair and began to fold it with care. “I am only saying it as a friend. I will see you tomorrow Rei.” She tucked in the outfit in her large bag and quickly kissed him on the cheek making her way out of the room.
The raven hair watched her leave the room, leaving him to stand there alone.

Rei buttoned his jacket up as he walked out in the chilly night air. The sun was already setting and the color of the sky was magnificent. It was a red/orange glow; you could almost see more colors, like the aura was right in front of you. Rei admired the sky and a small smile began to form on his lips. He began to make his way back toward his dorm room as he continued to watch the night sky.
‘If Mariah can easily see my emotions…I wonder what everyone else is thinking. I bet my parents are in real pain seeing me like this.’ He sighed as he entered the double doors, making his way toward the stairs that led up to his floor. ‘I bet everyone is thinking I am being a stuck up prick. I mean I am rude to everyone…I hardly smile now. I am already getting wrinkles from frowning. But no matter how hard I try to go back to my old self…it seems to fail and just fall back down.’ He unlocked his door and entered his room. He turned on the lights and tossed his bag onto the living room couch. He removed his jacket and tossed it alongside his bag. He walked over to his refrigerator and opened it up. He saw there a few containers and a letter attached to one of them. He pulled out the bowl, he placed it on the counter and pulled out the letter, he began to read it.


My dear Rei-rei,
I snuck in your room, well with the help of Brooklyn. I decided to leave you some food. I have realized you have not been eating well sweetie. I have been borrowing Brooklyn’s place in order to prepare your favorite home meals. Please enjoy them kitten. Try to get some sleep as well. I will see you in the morning. I am making you breakfast. I love you very much sweetie. If you need anything don’t be afraid to call me. Sleep well Rei-rei.

The raven hair smiled and opened up the bowl to take a peak at the meal. His smile grew wider and he walked over to pull out a plate to get himself some food.

He placed the dirty dishes in the sink and rinsed them off. He turned off the kitchen lights and made his way toward the bathroom to get ready for bed.



Tala watched the dual hair slowly eat his meal. It made him feel a bit relieved when he saw that Kai was actually eating. For the week the dual hair had nothing in his stomach only liquids. Tala tried to get him to eat, but every time Kai ate, the meal seemed to quickly find its way in the toilet. He wanted to take him to see a doctor but the dual hair refused it. The only thing the red head was able to do was pray and get him to at least drink liquids for the time being.
Now they were sitting inside Kai’s hotel room, Tala wanted to take him out to eat but he refused afraid to be seen. So he ordered room service. He watched Kai as he grabbed a spoonful of rice and stuffed it in his mouth. The dual hair kept his head down as he shuffled the meal in his mouth. They were quiet but the red head knew his friend was still in pain.
Tala began to enjoy his meal as the dual hair continued to eat his.
Kai kept his head down all the time keeping quiet as he continued to eat. He tried to suppress them, but it was no use, the damn tears were forcing their way out. He did not want to cry anymore, it made him weaker, but no matter what they were able to escape the lids trying to keep them in. He continued to eat, the tears still running down his face, but that did not bother him. He wiped the tears but did not stop stuffing the piece of chicken strip in his mouth. He was in so much pain, it seemed as though he was never going to stop crying.
The red head grabbed his wine glass and took a small sip. What was he suppose to do. They have been in Kai’s hotel room for the past week now; he has not seen or spoken to Raul. The red head told his professors he had a grim emergency so that was able to spare him some time, but if it continues like this his friend will surely go mad and he will be dropped out of all his classes and fail the semester. Tala did not know what to do it was all so hard.
‘I can’t tell Kai to suck it up, no that will hurt him even more. I know I should try and be patient but this is slowly going to ruin us. If this keeps up…I have no idea what might occur.’
“Why don’t you go see him?”
The red head looked up at his friend in shock. Kai spoke; no it maybe was his imagination.
“Did you say something?” He needed to be sure he wasn’t going crazy just yet.
“See your lover. I have kept you here with me for a while now, he might be worried.”
“You don’t need to worry, Raul understands.”
“Tala I am grateful you are here for me…but I don’t want to take advantage of your friendship. So go see him tonight. I will be fine. I think I will go out for a walk.”
“Kai its fine really.”
The dual hair placed his bowl and spoon down he looked up at his friend with a sincere smile.
“Please Tala, I want to be alone for a while now.”
The red head held tightly onto the glass, he wanted to go see Raul, but at the same time he did not wish to leave his friend alone especially in such a fragile state.
“Kai…”
“You have been enough help already, go see him. I just need to be alone to think things through.” He looked at his friend who only sighed.
“Be sure to call me for whatever reason. And don’t do anything stupid while I’m away.”
The dual hair nodded. The red head stood from his chair and went over to his friend. He hugged him and kissed him on the top of his head, he grabbed his jacket from the chair seated near the entrance of the room and stepped out. He looked back at Kai.
“Call no matter what it is.”
“Yeah.”
With that he stepped out and closed the door room behind him.
Kai pushed away and rested his head in his hands, the tears finally ran out. He was in so much pain, this pain felt endless. His heart felt torn, a huge black hole found its way in his heart, opening wider and taking in everything. Why was this happening? He did not want this. He was Kai, a guy who didn’t give a rat’s ass about anyone, who would never fall in love with no one and who would be the one who would break hearts. But no, instead he was this weakly…he was not the old Kai; he was now the small fragile Kai that died a long time ago. Now he decided to escape his confinements and break down the once tough, heartless, older Kai.
If only he hadn’t walked through that door, why did he ask Tala for the key? He regretted it all, the image engrave in his mind. It sickened him, the sight of his so-call love kissing and holding that disgusting bitch. All he wanted to do was spend the night with him, he just wanted to embrace the raven hair and kiss him, smiling while the smaller boy would curse and try to pull away. Instead, he saw something that he wished to burn, he wanted to go back to the crying boy he left, his heart ached at the thought of him hitting the raven hair. He did not want to, but he just couldn’t accept what he saw. There was so much rage, so much pain, taking it out on Rei was the only way to prevent him from running into that building and stabbing the red haired girl, and laugh while he did it. He couldn’t do this anymore he couldn’t stay in the hotel room all his life. He needed to take care of his business first; then he would leave forever.
The dual hair slowly picked himself up from his seat and made his way toward the bathroom, he needed to clear his mind, a cold shower might just freeze u his emotions. That thought was ridiculous but it didn’t matter, he needed to try something. With that he stepped in the bathroom, closing the door behind him.


“So Kai has been back?” Raul handed his sister some coffee.
“Yeah.” She grabbed it and held it in her cold hands. “Tala called me last night, he told me to check up on you and to tell you not to worry.”
“Oh.” The Spanish boy sat across from his sister, Fai jumped on his lap and snuggled close to the boy as he began to slowly pet the small animal. “Have you spoken with Kai?”
His sister shook her head ‘no’ and slowly sipped the hot liquid.
“I am real worried…Tala said he is not himself. I know it has something to do with that idiot Rei.”
“Why do you say that?”
“He was fine the last time I spoke to him, when he was in Europe. Then when he comes here he ends up freaking out and has a nervous break down or something, now he is just a mess.” She sighed and lowered her head.
“Why don’t you visit him?”
“I tried asking Tala where he was staying but he told me Kai wants to be alone, he can’t handle people at the moment.” She placed her cup on the coffee table and leaned back against the couch. “This isn’t fair. Kai already suffered once, why allow him to suffer again?”
“Are you blaming Rei?” Raul said quietly.
The room went silent the only thing head was Fai’s small purrs.
“Who else is there to blame?” She felt tears forming in her eyes. She did not want to blame the raven hair; she actually grew fond of him, and noticed that Rei brought happiness to Kai. She lowered her head onto her hands and began to cry.
“Julia…”
“I don’t want to blame him, I really don’t. I don’t want to hate him, but Kai is in so much pain. He cannot see it. He does not know how much he has affected Kai. He use to be such a bastard…he still was even with Rei, but he was happy. I could tell. I saw it in his eyes.” Her tears continued to flow down her face as she felt so much confusion in her. “I don’t know if I should blame him. I don’t know why Kai is the way he is now. I don’t want to see him like this, I want him to be that boring not interested in anything guy once more.” She looked up and stared at her brother with tears. “Rei is suffering too, you see him in class. No one will point it out to him he seems so fragile…so dead. They are both suffering, so I don’t know whom to blame or hate. I don’t want to.”
Raul was about to get up and hug her, but Fai beat him to it. The small animal jumped onto her lap and began to lap away at the tears. Julia went quiet for a while; she suddenly embraced the small creature and cried harder while Fai continued to comfort her.
A knock on the door was heard, making the Spanish girl try to calm herself down. Raul made his way toward the door and answered it. He was pulled into a tight embrace surprising him.
“I missed you Raul.”
“Tala?” The Spanish boy slowly brought his hands up and wrapped them around his lover’s waist.
“I am sorry I didn’t call and I am sorry for running out like that last week.”
“It’s okay.” He pulled away from the hug and looked at the red head with a smile. “Julia is here.”
Tala made his way inside and saw the Spanish girl seated with Fai on her lap.
“Hey” The red head said making her look up.
Julia moved the small animal away and stood up slowly, she stared at Tala for a bit and suddenly threw herself in his arms. The red head held her tightly feeling her cry against him.
“How is he?”
“He is better.” He stroked her hair as she mumbled against his shoulder.
“Will I be able to see him?”
“Tomorrow, and hopefully everyone else will be able too.”
She pulled away from the hug and looked up at him.
“Tala, tell me. You need to tell me why he is like this.”
The red head only nodded.

“Brook?”
“Hmm?” The orange hair did not look up from the papers he was currently looking over.
“I know Garland is in charge with the production, but I am a bit concern.”
“About?”
“Rei and not just him, but about the female lead as well.”
Brooklyn placed the papers down and removed his glasses. He placed them on the desk and looked over at his lover with a sincere smile.
“Don’t be. It will all be fine in the end.”
“But we only have until Friday, Rei seems out of it and the part where he needs to be with the female is always cut out cause she is not around. Why didn’t you make Julia the lead? Why is she the angel? That part isn’t even that big of a deal, you could have given it to Ming-Ming or another girl of the class.” The taller man looked over at the orange hair with so much concern in his face.
“Why are you worried? You jerk I should be the one freaking out not you! You are only the damn prop guy!”
Jin stared at Brooklyn with shock.
“You have no damn right to complain! I am already stressing enough on this! Also if this production does not open this Friday I am going to be fired! You have no damn right to worry or complain. Just do your fucking job got it!? Garland has put a lot of stress on me as it is, and not to mention Rei too. If I could I would kick him out of the class, but I can’t! I believe in the kid! And his parents are helping us! I am going through a lot here! So leave me alone! If you want to complain go somewhere else cause I can’t take it anymore!” He sat back down on his chair and rested his head on his hand.
Jin continued to stare at the orange hair in shock; he then quickly stood up and stepped out of the office.
“No Jin!” The door was slammed hard. Brooklyn began to rub his temples. “I didn’t mean it…you are not just the prop guy, you are also my support and second in charge.” He sighed and closed his eyes.

Hitoshi was still outside resting his back against the door. He was not angry at Brooklyn or upset. He was worried. He did not want to see his lover like that. It was not like him. Brooklyn is always so calm and mellow. Now he is angry and frustrated.
‘He needs time to himself.’ He pushed away from the door and made his way out.

Rei looked at the time for the 10th time, he couldn’t sleep. It was already 4 am there was no use in trying. He pulled out from under the covers and made his way to the bathroom in order to freshen up.

He grabbed his coat and stepped out of his room, some fresh air would do him good. He left the building and slowly made his way out into the quad. He had nowhere to go, everyone was still asleep; he had no car to drive around. What was he suppose to do now?
He took a seat near the fountain; he looked at the women surrounded by wolves. What meaning did this fountain hold? He read the inscription.

‘Illusions, that is all I see, my only peace is death. With the cries of the night I can finally sleep.’

‘But why the woman and wolves?’ He frowned as he noticed that it did not make sense. He turned away and looked up at the still darken sky. He missed his hometown, he missed his old friends and he missed his country life. This life was just to confusing now. Without thinking he began to hum to himself, a tune that he did not recall where he heard it. He continued to hum and soon began to sing out a few words, lyrics.

“Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark
For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart…”


He closed his eyes as he felt the song take over him, he did not know why he was even singing it in the first place but it made him feel away, away from everything.

“To weave by picking up the pieces that remain
Melodies of life--love's lost refrain”


It was from his hometown, he begins to remember. Auntie Yohfa sang it, Uncle Reiya he performed the music while Auntie Yohfa sang the song.

“Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why
We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye
And who'll hear the echoes of stories never told?”


She sang it with such grace; it had a deep meaning she use to sing it to him every time he was sad. He remembered when he was real sad, he was sick, his parents were worried. The doctors seemed to not know what to do with him. Until one day Auntie Yohfa decided to visit him, she came along with Uncle Reiya.

~FLASHBACK~

“Sister Yohfa, come in.” Lanfei moved aside to allow the young woman to enter the house.
“Thank you. How is he?” She stepped inside and was followed by the young man named Reiya.
The older women shook her head. “He is still in bad condition. It has been already two weeks and he hasn’t been eating, the doctor said if he keeps this up…he might not make it. My kitten is so skinny and pale. He is slowly fading away from me.” Lanfei cried.
“It is a shame. That man is very cruel for taking away that poor boy.” Yohfa held the woman’s hand as she softly cried.
“Ki Shou tried to contact the man in order for Rei-rei to speak to Kai, but the number is no more in service.”
“I see.”
“Auntie may we see him?” Reiya looked over at the older woman.
“Of course, he would love to see you both.”
She led them toward the small boy’s bedroom.
They stepped inside the small room, it was dark; the curtains were drawn close in order to prevent the light from entering.
“He can’t stand the light either…for some reason it hurts his eyes. They have become rather sensitive.” She walked over to the small boy who was tucked inside his covers. He looked so small curled up like a ball. “Sweetie guess who came over to see you.” She combed back his bangs.
“kai…” he whispered weakly.
“…Your Auntie Yohfa and Uncle Reiya.”
The small raven hair pulled the covers over his head trying to hide away. They did not matter; he just wanted to see Kai again.
“Sister Lanfei why don’t you leave us alone for a while, please.” The younger girl looked at her with a sincere smile.
“Of course, if you need anything call me.” With that she removed the covers from his head and kissed her son, then made her way out of the bedroom.
Yohfa made her way next to the small boy, pulling a chair next to him; she began to stroke his hair as she waited for Reiya to take a seat. The young man pulled out his Chinese violin from the case and got it in place.
“Rei we wrote this song especially for you. We know how much you miss Kai and we decided to dedicate this song to you due to your loss. You recall when you were younger how I use to hum a certain tune?” She continued to stroke his hair. He nodded ‘yes’
“Well I talked with Uncle Reiya and he composed the music while I came up with the lyrics. Would you like to hear our song?”
Once more the small raven hair nodded in agreement.
The young woman smiled. She looked over at Reiya who nodded and began to play.
Yohfa continued to stroke his hair as she waited for her chance to start singing.

Her voice was sweet and soothing, the sound of the violin sounded lovely. Young Rei felt the tears run down his face as he continued to listen to the woman’s song.
She pulled away from her seat and stood up, she began to dance an elegant dance, the butterfly dance. She continued to sing and dance. The small raven hair sniffed, he slowly sat himself up in order to watch the performance better. Yohfa was elegant, her dancing seemed magical, the flow of her blue/black hair, her sky-blue dress; his room seemed magical. He could see colors while she danced and sang. It made him smile it was beautiful.

“Whenever you are sad, just remember the song.” She said to him while he sat on her lap.
“I will Auntie.”
She smiled as she continued to stroke his hair.
“Whenever you hurt just think of the song and think of my dance. It was meant only for you.”

Yohfa died two years later, she died of a complicating disease. She was found dead in the forest after two days of being missing, her body laid over a field of flowers, her long hair flowed around her body like a river of fine silk, she was surrounded by small white birds. She died with a smile.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

Rei continued to dance while he sang the song, tears ran down his face as he recalled. Why had he forgotten? It hurt him deeply knowing he had forgotten about his past, his Auntie.
‘I am sorry Auntie Yohfa, I am sorry I have forgotten about your gift.’ He thought to himself as he finished up the dance and song. He stopped and looked up at the sky that was now glowing with the early morning light. He heard the chirping of a small bird, making him turn around to see a small white bird with a red beak perched on the shoulder of the statue. It fluttered its wings and sang it was dancing for Rei. He smiled as the small bird displayed its talent. He bowed at the bird and quickly made his way.


~Two days passed~

“Garland who is exactly playing the part of the girl?” Jejung asked the older man as they made their way toward the Opera/dance building.
“Don’t worry about that you guys. I have it all under control.”
“Is it going to be Mrs. Lanfei who will play the female lead?” Changmin asked as they entered the building.
“Listen you will all find out on Friday alright. Now let’s get pract—“ Before he was able to finish his sentence he was stopped by music.
“Someone is already here?” Yucheon looked at the taller man.
“I wonder who?” Garland quickly made his way toward the room and stepped inside. He stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw who was dancing.
Rei was on the stage practicing but the dance was different, it was elegant compared to the version they all knew.
“Hey it’s Rei!” Jejung smiled as he saw the raven hair continue to dance with the song.
“Hey that’s a new dance,” Yunho pointed out as they continued to watch the raven hair move along with the music.
“Yeah, a unique dance” Junsu said with a smile.
“He is moving like a butterfly.” Changmin said in amusement. “It seems like a nice dance.”
Rei stopped as he noticed a presence in the room with him. He looked over and saw the group staring at him. He smiled and waved at them.
“Hey you guys!” He called out.
“Rei hey!” Jejung quickly made his way toward the raven hair followed by the rest of his group.
‘Rei…he seems…different.’ Garland watched as Rei smiled and greeted the other boys with such joy. ‘He doesn’t seem to be faking it…what the hell?’ The taller man frowned. Suddenly Rei looked over at him and gave a big grin.
‘Whatever happened, I thank.’ He smiled back at him and made his way toward the group who were now trying to copy the moves the raven hair was performing earlier.
“Rei why are you here? Don’t you have class?” The taller man said as he came closer to the group.
“Not today, I decided to practice a dance I remembered.”
“It is a lovely dance. Where did you learn it?” Jejung looked over at him with curiosity.
“A dance showed to me long ago, with a melody that has reminded me.”
“Do you think you can show us?” Changmin said with a smile.
“Sure. But I wanted to ask you something Garland. Can we talk?”
“Yeah sure. You guys just stretch.”
The group nodded as the two moved away.
They both went toward the back of the stage. The taller man looked at the raven hair and tried to read his facial features.
“Garland I am sorry I wasn’t putting all my potential into your dance production, but now I am going all out.”
“Well that is good to hear.”
“I also wanted to say I am sorry for being the way I was a while ago. I am still feeling a bit out of it here and there but…Auntie Yohfa reminded me to be strong and to realize that it isn’t the end of the world.”
“Yohfa…?”
“Yeah, she sang me a melody…a special melody when I was young. She told me every time I was to get sad to recall that song, but at the same time I recalled her dance. Garland I know that we only have three days t until opening night but if you will allow me to teach Julia the dance.”
Rei looked at him with his golden eyes begging the taller man to accept his proposal.
“Alright, I will give it to you. But Julia will need to agree, if she does not want to then just forget it. No promises made got it?”
“Yeah. Thank you.” He bowed his head. “She will be happy.”
“Rei…are you alright? I mean I don’t want to sound out of line but…shouldn’t you be depressed? I know I should be glad, I am actually glad you are here practicing but you quickly recovered.”
“…Well I guess you are like my big brother after all. I am still sad and hurting inside…but remembering my Auntie Yohfa, it made me realized something. I forgotten so easily about her, a person I truly loved, due to me only thinking about myself and being selfish. But now…now I realized that I will have my ups and downs…I might be alone at certain times, but even though I wish to believe I am alone I will never be. She has been with me ever since I was young and she still continues to watch over me. I want to dedicate that dance to her, My Auntie Yohfa is my angel and she is at the moment trying to make me happy once more.”
Garland looked at the boy but then he smiled.
“Give it your all kid.” He ruffled his hair and chuckled.




“Yohfa, her song to you?”
“I recalled her song, I was just sitting down and suddenly I began to sing out a few of the lyrics. I miss her.”
“We all do kitten. She was a lovely girl, she was suppose to marry Reiya, but a shame the disease got to her first.”
“She was still happy. She did not seem to be bothered by it at all; she lived her life as if nothing was wrong.” Ki Shou smiled sadly. “And yet we are here…acting as if it is the end of the world.”
“You are right.”
“Auntie Yohfa never once cried. She was always smiling, I recall her always playing with us, singing and teaching us new dances.”
“We were going to give her a place in our line of work…but she never had the chance.” Lanfei closed her hands together as she felt a bit of pain shoot through her chest. “She would have been excited in seeing you perform Rei-rei.”
“But she would have been sad due to the way I am acting.”
“The way we are all acting.”
“Yes.”
They all sat in silence.
“I need to be going, I need to find Julia in order to see if she would do it.”
“Be careful sweetie.”
The raven hair quickly kissed his mother on the cheek and waved at his father, he made his way out of the room leaving them alone.
“Ki Shou what are you thinking about?” She looked over at him and noticed the serious and yet sadden look he had on his face.
“She was a strong girl. She knew she wasn’t going to live very long, she knew she was slowing dying, and that she wouldn’t make it to see the world more. Yet…yet she never once complained, never once cried or cursed saying why her? And here I am…I am always cursing and crying during treatment…due to the fact it hurts me so much.”
“…She would have supported us.”
“She would have been there for Rei.”
“It is sad we begin to recall the past barely now…”
“It happens, but now let us focus on our son. Yohfa would have asked that.”
“Yes.”


There was a knock at the door. The Spanish boy made his way toward the door and answered it.
“Rei?” He looked at the raven hair in surprise.
“Hey. I am sorry to sound rude and all but do you know where Julia is?”
“She’s here.”
“Do you think I can talk to her?”
Raul stood there in silence; he did not know what to do. Tala was with them as well, and his lover at the moment did not seem to even want to hear the name Rei.
“Raul? Please this is important.”
“Hey baby who’s at the door…?” The red head stopped.
The Spanish boy looked over his shoulder toward his lover in shock; he saw the anger suddenly forming in the red head’s eyes. He was afraid now.
“Tala hey, I haven’t seen you in class…you okay?”
“You fucking bastard! You have the nerve to come here and act as if nothing has happened!” The raven hair looked at him in shock and before he knew it he had a fist slammed hard against his face knocking him down on his butt. “Leave now! Before I break your fucking face!”
“Tala please.”
“Raul go keep Julia company!”
“But”
“Now damn it!”
The Spanish boy winced at the tone of his lover’s voice. He looked down at Rei who was now picking himself up and then back at the angry red head. Without a word he left them alone.
‘Tala…don’t hurt him…’ Raul thought to himself as he looked back once more.
“…Tal—“
“Shut up! How could you! You bastard!! Don’t you care about anyone else but yourself!?”
“What are you talking about?”
“You are one hell of an actor Rei you know that! First you go acting like some hurt up bastard and then we just suddenly show up in front of Raul’s door for who knows what reasons!”
“I need to talk to Julia, please Tala I don’t know why you are up—Kai…”
“Exactly, you are one fucked person! You just used him! You fucking used him and then as soon as he leaves you decide to ignore all of his feelings for you and go fuck some bitch!”
“You have no right to talk to me as if he is the only one hurt! He is the one who said he used me!” Rei stood a few inches away from Tala’s face and stared at him with anger “He hurt me! He hit me and left me there with out giving me a chance to explain!”
“Bull shit! You have no idea what he is going through right now! What I am going through! He is my best friend! He already went through a stage that I did want repeated! But you had to screw up and bring it all back! If you could see him…he isn’t the same! You ruined him!” Tears streamed down. “You fucking ruined him…he is not himself he is now a broken down child…all because he loves you…”
“Tala…”
“Just go! I don’t want to see our damn face for a while. I won’t forgive you Rei. I will never forgive you!!” With that he shoved the raven hair away from the door and slammed it hard at his face.

Rei covered his eyes, he was crying once more. He didn’t want to remember the dual hair…not now, not after what he wanted to do for his auntie. But he was reminded and yet he was now the bad guy. Rei didn’t wanted to hurt Kai, he loves him as much, but…but the dual hair caught him in a bad time. He was just caught surprised, it meant nothing but Kai wouldn’t hear of it. He slumped himself down and rested his head on his heads, continuing his crying.
“Kai…” He said softly as he cried. ‘I didn’t want it to be this way, I just…I couldn’t say I love you cause I wasn’t sure…but now…now I want to tell you so badly…I want you to hold me in your arms…’ He wiped his tears. ‘I sound pathetic…’
“Rei?”
He was startled; he looked over toward the entrance of the building and saw a female figure making her way toward him.
“Julia…?”
“Hey…can I sit with you?”
Rei moved a bit and began to wipe away his tears as the Spanish girl sat next to him.
“…I’m sorry about that, Tala is just real upset.”
“You here to tell me off as well? I know how close you are to Kai.” He did not dare look at her.
“Raul said you had something important to talk to me about. What is it?”
“Forget it…you won’t want to, besides…I should just leave now, I don’t belong here anymore.” His voice chocked as he felt tears once more trying to escape.
“I will do it. What ever you want I will do it. You are after all my little brother’s friend, and I don’t want him to hurt due to me being angry at you.”
“…I wanted to teach you a dance...a dance my aunt performed for me when I was younger.”
“A dance?”
“It is a unique dance, my parents don’t know of it either, I recalled it early in the morning…and I wanted you to perform it”
“Why?”
“…I’m not sure anymore…”
They sat in silence, only hearing the sounds of the crickets singing through the night air.
Julia stood up and began to un-dust herself.
“I’ll meet you in the dance room in an hour.” With that she walked away leaving a surprised Rei behind.



“Hi I’m looking for Kai Hiwatari. I was told he was staying in this hotel.”
“And you are?”
“I am a friend, is he here?”
“Is it important business?”
“Yes an emergency.”
“I can call him to come down.”
“No please don’t bother, I rather have a private moment with him.”
“Give me one moment.” The man with the glasses began to scan through the computer data. “Ah here we go, he is staying in room 520 in the fourth floor”
“Thank you”
“You are welcome.”
With that the bluenette made his way toward the elevator.
He rode it in silence, keeping his eyes glued to the numbers of the floors as it made its way up. Arriving at the fourth floor he made his way toward the room.
‘Bastard he better be there, or I’ll break down the door and wait for him.’ Takao reached the door and knocked a few times. He waited but no reply.
‘You are in there! I know you are!’ He once more knocked but this time a little bit harder. “Kai open up! Open up now or I swear I will break this damn door down!”
A few of the guests wee stepping out to see what all the noise was about, Takao paid them no attention. He would pound and scream until the cows came home.
The door slowly opened up. An angry looking Kai greeted the bluenette.
“What the hell are you doing here? And how did you find me?” He said in a deadly tone.
“It wasn’t easy but I checked out about 15 hotels and you were here in number 16. I need you to listen to me! I want to talk to you about Rei.”
“I don’t give a fuck what you want piggy. Now leave me the hell alone or I will be forced to call security.”
“I am not leaving. Go ahead and call security, I will just follow you around until you hear what I have to say.” Takao gave him a cold stare waiting for a reply.
Kai looked at him with an angered look but son moved away from the door, leaving it open. The bluenette followed closing the door behind him.
“Make it quick.”
“You were always a bastard.”
“If you are here to insult me get out, I don’t want to waste my time with your crap.”
“I am not here to insult you, I have something to tell you. So listen up! I always hated your guts, I still do and when I first found out about you raping Rei I thought you were the worst kind of scum ever, but suddenly I found out that my good friend was actually into you so I let it past, but I warned you and I told him, if you ever hurt him in anyway I swear I will kill you! You did it once more! You cold-hearted bastard! You crushed him! He is not the same anymore! You screwed him over and now he is confused! Lost and confused! He doesn’t eat properly, he is lacking of sleep and he is over working himself for his dance class. And you want to know why!? Cause you just beat the crap out of him and told him it was over! You fucking used him for your own sick pleasure and after he was finally gaining some feelings for you, you throw him like a used tissue! I want to kill you so badly right now, I want to beat that face of yours to a bloody pulp…but I promised Mihaeru I wouldn’t do anything rash. I just want you to know if I ever see your pathetic face ever again near Rei, I swear that you won’t be alive the next time I confront you!”
The room went silent, the bluenette continued to stare at the dual hair waiting for a reaction. Nothing.
“Kill me now, if it will make you feel any better.”
“What?”
“Go ahead. I have nothing to lose. If you desperately want to kill me I give you permission, forget what your damn lover said just get it over with! If you have the courage to come and tell me all that shit! Then go ahead and kill me!!” Surprising Takao the dual hair punched the mirror that was hanging in the small hallway, his fist cracked it, and he kept it in place. A few pieces fell off as he slowly pulled away his fist, it was dripping with blood, kneeling down he picked up a piece and held it up in front of the now surprised Takao.
“Here go ahead, you can slit my throat, or my wrists which ever you prefer.”
The bluenette backed up a bit.
‘What’s wrong? I thought you wanted to kill me? Are you afraid now? Here let me help you.” Suddenly he placed the piece of glass against his neck and slowly began to drag it hard across his neck drawing out blood.
“…Stop!” He grabbed the dual hair’s hand and pulled it away. He looked at Kai and stared at the wound, it was seriously deep and the blood was spilling out. “Shit! We need to take you to the hospital!’
“I thought you wanted me dead. Come on piggy kill me! You want me dead finish me off!!” He tried to pull his hand back but the bluenette held it as tight as he could.
“You fucking psycho! Stop it! We need to take you now! You will die!”
“Then let me die! You want me dead don’t you Takao!? Come on I can see it in your eyes!”
“No! Kai this isn’t you! Fuck you are seriously nuts!” Takao rammed him hard against the wall and pinned him down with his body. “What the hell is wrong with you!?”
“You fucking hypocrite! I thought you said you wanted to kill me, instead here you are stopping me and even crying.” He smiled at him with a smug look as he wiped at the tears with his free hand.
“…I don’t want you to die! If you die…Rei will be at a greater loss…damn it! I still love you! I always loved you! I still do, I don’t want you to die…damn you Kai…damn you bastard!”
The dual hair released his hold of the glass and allowed it to fall to the ground.
“Let me go, I want to be alone now.”
“No I need to take you to the hospital…we need to get that checked.”
“I can do it myself. Just go, and don’t bother me with Rei again.” He pushed the bluenette away from him and walked over to the bathroom.
“Kai! Damn it we need to get it looked at!”
“I’ll be fine…just, get the hell out.” He began to dig out the first aid kit and pulled out the gauze.
Tyson looked at him, he didn’t want to leave…this was not suppose to happen he was expecting some cocky remark and a few fists here and there, but not Kai cutting himself…and especially confessing his emotions for the dual hair. Without a word the bluenette ran out, this was not happening.
Kai heard the door being slammed; he stared back at his reflection and looked at the cut, deep but not deadly, not to him anyways. It was only the side of his neck. He pours the peroxide onto the gauze and began to clean at the wound, not flinching from the pain at all.

She watched the bluenette run out of the hotel room, she stayed hidden in the hallway, waiting.
‘…Rei this is for you…this is for both of us.’ She took a deep breath and slowly made her way toward the room she saw Takao run out off.
She lifted her hand and was about to knock, suddenly the door was opened and she was greeted with a pale looking Kai and his neck bandaged.
They stared at each other for a while.
“What are you doing here princess? You want to brag about you finally pleasing your fiancé?”
“…Bastard, I do want to talk to you about Rei.”
“I don’t want to hear it, just go back to your future husband alright.” His voice was weak, due to the cut but he still kept his attitude. “Also how the hell did you know I was here?”
“I have been calling all hotels for awhile asking for you. I came today to talk to you, but that other guy came first so I decided to wait.” Her eyes wondered over to his neck. ‘…What just happened? Oh my gosh is that blood?’
Kai saw her surprised look and placed his hand over the bandage and felt it moist.
‘Shit…its still bleeding.’ “What do you want Salima? I don’t have time today.”
“This is important. I will not leave until you hear me out.”
“You too? Damn what the hell is wrong with all of you? Before you know it I am going to have a priest come over and give me the same shit. Only you are here for worry right? I told you I got sick of your lover, so don’t worry about me fucking him.”
“You sick faggot…it’s a good thing you left my Re…you left him! He does not deserve a man whore like you!”
“Man whore?” He smirked. “You are real original. You got five minutes, and then you get the fuck out. You hear me princess?” He stared at her with a serious look.
She did not respond, she only nodded and stepped inside.
