Chapter 53

Dragonball: Unforgotten

Chapter fifty-three

Huh, you were quite comfortable. That was such an odd thing because the last thing you remembered was that you were flat against a hard floor. Although you quickly realized that since you were waking up you must have been quite asleep or unconscious. As your eyes opened up you felt nauseous but that sensation quickly faded.

"Oh wow, you're awake already," a female voice said in surprise.

You looked to the door to see Bulma standing there with a juice in her hand. Beside her was the young Trunks, looking at you directly even though he lingered near his mother's legs. You smiled slightly as you went to sit up. Only problem was that it made you quite dizzy. You didn't miss that feeling - you'd avoided it since you woke up all put back together again.

"Shouldn't be surprised though," she said with a pleased look.

"Are you okay?" Trunks asked.

"Probably," you answered honestly. "Where am I...exactly?"

You remembered Goku fighting with Gohan. And then Gohan had gotten to you, telling you to run. After that you'd taken Goku to the only place you could think of which might stop him from beating on his own son over a complete misunderstanding. Which was Vegeta's gravity chamber. It had been quite the gambit considering the fact that you'd only been there once. Though locking on to Vegeta's energy had helped quite a bit; though your concentration wasn't what it could have been at the time, which was why it had been a chancy play. After that you couldn't remember what had happened.

"Oh, you're in one of our guest rooms," Bulma spoke out helpfully.

"Goten's dad brought you here after you passed out," Trunks filled in even more. "But he and dad are fighting now. I think it’s because he broke the gravity chamber."

You winced at that, feeling guilty. You had brought Goku to the room and if the clues were anything to go by, the gravity exceeded your ability to cope. You guessed at some point that something happened which put you into an unconscious state. And knowing Goku's hero needs he'd probably taken the quickest way to lower the gravity. In other words he probably destroyed it. You just hoped that he left enough so that Bulma could fix it.

A loud sound made you react. You got off of the bed as quickly as possible and stood ready in case you needed to dodge something. A subject, you found, that you’d been better at than Gohan at least. You never got the chance as to dodge anything as Goku’s and Vegeta’s energy flickered out to reappear at least a hundred miles away. At which point it began to swell to unbelievable levels.

“Okay, judging by yours and Trunks’ face, something’s happening. Care to share?”

The tone that she asked in made it clear that it wasn’t really a question. Hesitantly you decided to tell her what you felt and explain what that could mean. Bulma didn’t seem nearly on edge about the whole thing as you were. Which you supposed was due to the fact that you hadn’t really given her the whole story. You hadn’t explained that Goku had already beat Gohan, his own son, because Gohan had gotten in his way. Or, at least, that’s what you figured happened. You hadn’t been there when Goku mistakenly put together the notion that you and Gohan were going to have sex; nor did your mind follow the same pattern his had.

“Vegeta must be loving it,” Bulma said with a smile. “He came home in a rage yesterday. Today will be very cathartic for him I bet.”

You still worried over what was happening. Mostly because you recognized that the whole situation was, at least in part, your fault. You had never truly explained the majority of the world’s monogamous practices to Goku. You had started when you told him that he could leave if he didn’t want the relationship, that you might be upset but you’d forgive him and move on. But you had never thought to explain that for a lot of people (yourself included) marriage was a singular affair that wasn’t supposed to be as easy to call off as other relationships. Back then you thought you would either have had more time to explain it or you would have been dead. You never dreamed of the situation you were in now; that would have been a nightmare worth remembering.

With the possessive way even a “dead” Goku clung to you it didn’t seem like he would be willing to accept the situation and move on. He seemed hell bent on beating anyone who even remotely got between you and he. Vegeta hadn’t even really been an obstacle though so you weren’t sure what exactly happened. All you knew is that he was acting like a stubborn, possessive fool. And while it felt wonderful in a twisted way, you also knew that none of it was going to matter soon. He was dead. And he’d only been given 24 hours on Earth after 7 years of being in the afterlife. It wasn’t the first time he’d been “away” from his family for a drastic amount of time from what you’d heard from Gohan. As the years went on the time lapses got longer. And then he died but still managed to make it seem just like another lapse in time. You loved him but you weren’t Chichi; you couldn’t live with only seeing him once every few years. He was dead. But at least this time you’d get to say goodbye.

A few minutes ago…

“What’s wrong Kakarot? A few minutes ago you seemed ready to pound me into the ground,” Vegeta practically growled out towards his long time rival.

Goku shrugged as he started walking to the opening of the broken gravity chamber. “We’ve had our fight. Yesterday and a little today. Right now I need to go make sure she’s okay. She’s not used to the high gravity and sudden negation.”

Vegeta frowned heavily as he stood before Goku, cutting him off from the door. More importantly to Goku was the fact that he was getting between him and you. In a different way than Gohan had, that was true, but he still didn’t care for it.

“We’ll fight more later, I promise,” Goku said in unrest. “Right now she’s waking up and I want to make sure she’s okay.”

“Heh,” Vegeta scuffed mockingly. A look of triumph washed over his face as he realized what button he needed to push. “No wonder she called in the boy and then brought you here when he failed.”

“What are you talking about?” Goku asked with narrowed eyes, not liking Vegeta’s subject or his tone.

“She might be weaker than us but at least she has the sense to keep our race strong,” Vegeta remarked with a smirk. “The bitch is in heat but instead of submitting to you, she’s doing what she can to make sure she doesn’t breed with you. Because she knows you're a disgrace. You don’t have it in you to finish a fight. You never have. You have to rely on others to do it for you.”

“Vegeta. Stop.”

Vegeta’s smirk only grew. He’d found the right button to push. He could see the deadly warrior right behind Goku’s dark eyes waiting to come out. He just needed a bit more of a push. Then Vegeta was sure he’d finally get the fight he deserved. So he decided to goad him further.

“Maybe when you’re back in your grave, Kakarot, I’ll show her what being fucked by a real saiyan is like. I might even give her the honor of carrying my second child. What do you think? Think she’d like that? Hell, why wait? It’s not like you’ll be able to stop me. You’re too weak. Besides, I want to see how long it takes until she’s screaming my name.”

At which point, Goku destroyed the chamber in its entirety as he powered up beyond anything that Vegeta had seen prior. But as Vegeta’s jaw connected with Goku’s fist, Goku moved them away from the city so that no one else would be caught in the fight.
