Chapter 6

Rim: … (stares at Akito)

Akito: Go ahead and say I was right, you know you want to.

Rim: Shut up…I hate you.

Akito: You created me, how can you hate me?

Rim: Just shut up, we have a chapter to do. All right, everyone sit back and enjoy the ride, and please don’t try to kill me again. Onwards we move closer to our goal, before I have to kill Akito and have my other muse Nanashi kill me for his death.

Kai kept eye contact with the older woman until all his guests were seated, then he broke contact, studying each one before he took his place at the head of the table. The two girls then took their places by the covered dishes, waiting for either Arumi or Kai’s order to start the meal.

“Like all other times, you have done quite well with preparations,” Kai said with approval, his eyes secretly going to Max and Tyson’s glasses. “Everything is in order, like I want it?”

“Exactly like you want it Master Kai,” Arumi smiled.

“Good,” Kai smiled.

“You know I aim to please,” Arumi bowed low. “Should we start dinner now, Master Kai?” Arumi motioned for the two girls to get ready to serve the minute Kai spoke. Her eyes remained on her dual haired master, as he nodded without so much as saying a word. Looking at the two girls, Arumi motioned for them to take the covers off the dishes that rested on the table.

“Dude!” Tyson all but drooled on the table when he saw the maids take the cover off the dishes. There was everything from a long pan of lasagna to yakitori and sushi. “You made all of this for me, Kai, that’s the kind of friend I’m talking about, you’re okay in my book again.”

“Tyson, all that food isn’t for you alone,” Rei sighed.

“He has a point, we’re going to eat too,” Max stated.

“But you guys wouldn’t eat that much, I mean, after all, even if you have quite an appetite to Max, not even you, Rei, Zeo, Chief, and Kai could out eat me if you wanted to,” Tyson said, picking up his fork and knife.

“He has a point,” Kenny said. “It’s unfathomable that anyone could ever eat more than you, Tyson.”

“Are you trying to insult me?” Tyson inquired

“If there was a way to insult you so you would stop eating, that would have been something we would have done a long time ago,” Kai smirked, watching the flush of anger color Tyson’s cheeks before the bluenette glared at him.

“You really want me hurt you, don’t you, Kai?” Tyson said, pointing the knife in Kai’s general direction. Kai pretended not to see the knife, or hear the threat the other bluenette made and looked at Arumi. “Arumi, serve our guests the main courses.”

“Yes master Kai,” Arumi said.

“I know you heard me Kai, don’t pretend not to,” Tyson huffed.

“Master Tyson?” Arumi said.

“Huh, yeah?” Tyson turned his full attention to the woman that was looking at him with a smile.

“What would you like to eat? The first few courses consist of—” Arumi was about ready to start, when Tyson interrupted her.

“Give me a taste of each one of the main courses,” Tyson said with his trademark grin intact, momentarily having forgotten that Kai had insulted him. Kai shook his head, in the back of his mind still very disgusted by Tyson’s excessive gluttony. Well, he supposed he could put up with it for one night until he got what he wanted. Tyson should enjoy his hospitality now, because in a matter of hours, Kai would have no reason to ever be this nice to the dolt again.

“Master Kai,” one of the two maids said. Kai lifted his eyes to the girl with a slight questioning stare. “What is it that you would like to eat?”

“Kotleta stolychna,” Kai said simply, while the other members of the Bladebreakers and Zeo looked at the dual haired young man with a strange stare.

“Should we even bother to ask you what that is?” Tyson said, making a face.

“It’s a very famous dish which was created during the soviet era to impress high level officials. It’s stuffed and breaded boneless chicken breast, and it happens to be one of Master Kai’s favorite dishes,” Arumi said.

“When I was younger and I was sent to train at the abbey, my grandfather would always take me to restaurants when I had good reports from Boris. I think I was about eight when I first tried it,” Kai said, thinking back to the times when he was younger.

“Arumi told us earlier that your parents traveled a lot,” Rei said, taking the opportunity to find out more about Kai while the meals were being served. “You don’t really see them a lot do you?”

“My parents?” Kai was pulled out of his thoughts by the question. “I suppose I don’t, they’re always working. My mother works with my grandfather as his security and oversees many of the projects grandfather is working on.”

“What about your father?” Rei inquired.

Oh yes, his bastard of a father who was never around because he always had more important things to do. It wasn’t always like that, Kai use to be able to see his father all the time when he was younger, but then one day he decided that he wasn’t really that important in Kai’s life and chose to spend all his time working on his so called “dreams”. His mother hadn’t been able to pursue the man to spend more time with Kai, seeing as how his projects took up most of the time anyway. The first two months Kai had been devastated, over time, the feeling disappeared and he found that as more time passed, the attention seeking vanished completely. Of course that was due to his abbey training.

“My father…he has his own little projects to keep him busy, he doesn’t get much time to get away from them to visit home, and if he ever does visit, I’m usually not home because of training and everything,” Kai said with a shrug.

“Kind of like Tyson’s dad,” Max said. “You and Kai have something in common after all Tyson, besides beyblading and wanting to be the best. I think that qualifies you both to call it a truce and be friends.”

“I’ll call a truce when he calls one first,” Tyson said, piling a whole bunch of food in his mouth that was being served on his plate. “Wow, this is some good stuff, my hat off to the chefs…if I had my hat and all.”

“He’s hopeless,” Kenny sighed.

“You can say that again,” Max said, with a shake of his head. Conversation broke off for a while as the food was served and enjoyed. There were occasional questions from Max, Rei, and Zeo for Kai, their host politely answering the questions, but his eyes lingered on Rei whenever the neko-jin asked a question.

This does not go unnoticed by Zeo, who was positive that the whole time they were eating Kai’s eyes would be on him. But every time he looked up, Kai would occasionally glance at him, before his eyes went back on Rei, as if he was no interested in the Chinese Bladebreaker. Zeo was sure that Kai wanted him, a few days ago when Kai had him pinned up against the wall to the study and told him the only person he wanted was Zeo, the green haired teen didn’t think that Kai would change his mind. The intensity within those fiery eyes didn’t seem like they could be quelled for any reason. So, what the hell was up with Kai’s nonchalant behavior now? It didn’t make sense at all.

“Zeo?” Tyson’s voice brought the green haired young man back to the present, looking up from his meal he looked across the table at Tyson who gave him a worried stare. “You okay?”

“What do you mean?” Zeo questioned, for some strange reason, he was hoping that it had been Kai who was asking him the question instead of Tyson.

Though he was just as glad that his crush was paying attention to him, but at least if it had been Kai, Zeo would know that the other still wanted him. But wasn’t it a good thing that Kai wasn’t paying attention to him, Kai knew that Zeo was in love with Tyson. Could it be possible that after Zeo left that other day, Kai realized that Zeo didn’t want him and decided to give the idea of him and Rei a chance?

That had to be the reason he was paying so little attention to Zeo. Of course, when he thought about it that way, it made him feel just a bit down over it…which confused him. Why should he feel down over Kai not paying attention to him, and to Rei? Why did he want Kai to pay attention to him, he liked Tyson, there was no doubt about that. Or was it that somewhere deep down, he did sort of like Kai?

“Zeo!” Tyson’s voice broke through his thoughts again.

“Sorry, I guess I went spacey again,” Zeo apologized. “I’m fine I guess I just got caught up in my thoughts. Was there something you were going to say Tyson?”

“Well, the rest of us were going to head down to Kai’s rec. room for a bit of relaxation, hurry up and finish your food so we can go,\" Tyson replied, finishing off the last of his drink before standing up from the table. Of course, more than half of the dishes served for dinner that evening were gone, much to the astonishment of two maids, embarrassment of two other people, and the disgust of two more. \"That was an awesome meal, now I need to lay somewhere and take it easy.\"

“You’re not human, I swear it,” Max laughed, picking up his glass and draining the rest of the contents from it. “But I know what you mean, that was a great meal. Much thanks to Kai and the chefs.”

“Arumi, show my guest to the rec. room, I’ll be right down there in one minute,” Kai said, before getting up from his chair and walking out the room. Five pairs of eyes followed their host out of the room with curiosity.

“I wonder where he’s going,” Tyson said, before swiping the last piece of fatty tuna from the now empty tray and popping it in his mouth. “Should the host really be abandoning his guests after a meal to go be broody and stuff?”

“Tyson…sometimes I see why Kai…” Rei trailed off shaking his head. “Have you ever thought that maybe Kai was going to the bathroom, instead of ‘abandoning us to go be broody’?”

“Oh…well he should have just said that he had to go take a leak, we’re all man here, right?” Tyson said, while his friends gave him disbelieving looks at his tactlessness. “What…why are you guys staring at me like that for?”

“Arumi, do you mind taking us to the rec. room now,” Rei said, ignoring Tyson’s question. The woman smiled, but in her mind, she too understood the reasons behind her young master’s dislike of the bluenette boy. Not only was he annoying, idiotic, but a complete pig on top of being a cocky fool. There was no way he would ever get her master’s approval, so she did not feel the tiniest bit guilty carrying Kai’s plan through.

“Oh course, come along then,” Arumi smiled. Meanwhile, Kai was heading upstairs to the wing where his bedroom rested. On that particular wing of the house, there were two other rooms the one across the hall from his would be Rei’s while Kenny’s would be down the hall from Rei’s. The northern wing, right across from his bedroom would house Max, Tyson, and Zeo.

So far his plan was going brilliant. Tyson and Max were playing directly into his game; it wouldn’t take too long for the two to succumb to the bit of drugs now in their systems. He would give them about thirty minutes before it kicked in. After he and Arumi escorted them to a room, Kai would take things over and leave the two to their own devices. After declaring that Tyson and Max were already sleeping, he would tell the others they might as well stay the night too.

“You’re absolutely brilliant,” Kai said to himself, walking down to the other wing where the rooms were. Placing his hand on the first door, he turned the knob, noting with approval that a light was already burning lightly on the nightstand where a pitcher of water and two glasses awaited. The bed was already turned down, and the sheets pulled back. “I’m going to have to commend Arumi rightfully when this is all over.”

“Master Kai,” a girl with short silver hair stood in the hallway with her head bowed to the young man. Shifting a gaze to her, he said nothing, knowing she already knew his attention was on her. “We received a call from your grandfather while you were having dinner. He left the message that he will be attending to meetings in Spain the rest of the month, and will return the middle of next month.”

“That works out just fine for me,” Kai smirked. “I want you to go place a call to grandfather’s friend at the police station and give him this message for me, do I make myself clear Alyssa?” Kai dug into his pocket, pulling out a folded up piece of paper, and holding it out to the girl. The silver haired maid walked up to Kai, taking the piece of paper.

“Of course Master Kai, you can count on me,” the maid bowed then turned away, heading down the hall. Gazing at the clock on the nightstand, he read the numbers 10:17. He would give the drugs about 10:40 to work it would take longer if he hadn’t combined the ingredients with the wine served at dinner.

Once the drug took effect, the rest of the plan would work out like clockwork. Heading out the room and shutting the door, Kai went back down to the rec. room the others were in. Standing in the doorway for a long time, he watched Tyson take on Rei in a friendly beybattle with Max, Kenny, and Zeo on looking. Without the other’s knowledge, Kai let his eyes drift over Zeo, lapping in the curve of his hips and swell of his butt which looked delicious, waiting for him to rip the lower garments away from it and ravaging it for hours.

Kai resisted the urge to thinking about it more, but it was inevitable. Everything about Zeo was irresistible and made Kai horny as hell. Soon though, he wouldn’t be staring anymore. He would have everything that made up his angel. His one true obstacle would be out the way in a matter of hours. And then Zeo would obey Kai’s every wish.

“Master Kai,” Arumi spoke softly, drawing Kai’s lusty gaze away from Zeo to her. “Now is not the time to blow your cover, he thinks you have lost interest in him, do not light his suspicions.”

“Good advice, my dear Arumi,” Kai murmured, letting his blood cool down to settle his awakening arousal. “The plan is too close to closure for his suspicions.”

“You went up to see the room I suppose, Master Kai?” Arumi questioned, tilting her head to the side with a sly smirk. “Was it as you needed?”

“Remind me to raise your pay when this is all over,” Kai grinned wickedly.

“I’m going to hold you to that Master Kai,” Arumi said.

“Hey Kai, what are you and Arumi talking about over there?” Tyson shouted from where he was at. “Once I beat Rei, I want to have a friendly match with you.”

“If you want to beat me, you better keep your eyes on the match then,” Rei said, as his beyblade clashed with Tyson’s pushing the blade back against the edge. “All right Driger, let’s end the match.”

“Oh, no you don’t,” Tyson said, turning his full attention back to the match. “Dragoon, let’s do this!” Kai walked towards the dish, observing the battle which was taking place, Arumi stayed close by for when Kai needed her. Eyes of liquid fire watched the match carefully, going over all of Tyson’s tired moves in his head as the battled carried out over the course of the next ten minutes. With boredom, he zoned out on the match, thinking about how glad he was going to be when Tyson was out of his hair for good. One day, he would challenge the ape to another match this time his blade wouldn’t lose balance on the edge of the dish to guarantee him a lost.

That was the only thing which stopped him from being the returning regional champion in Japan. If it hadn’t been because he wasn’t focusing on where his blade landed and more on taking out his opponent, he wouldn’t have lost that match. Everyone knew if his blade didn’t lose balance off the edge and went back into the dish, Tyson would only be second best now. That wasn’t going to happen the next time they battled.

“Yo Kai you in there?” Tyson waved his hand in front of Kai’s face for the fifth time since his match with Rei ended more than two minutes ago. Who really knew how long Kai had been in this daze since his arrival to the dish. “Hey, Kai, come on, I want to battle you next, wake up?”

“Don’t feel up to it,” Kai said, refocusing his eyes on the empty dish.

“Oh come on, I want a work out to burn off some of my extra energy,” Tyson complained. “Don’t be such a wet blanket.”

“Maybe Kai’s tired,” Max suggested. “Or he left his blade upstairs when he went to the bathroom.”

“Well, he can go right back upstairs and get it,” Tyson huffed. “No one else decided to bring their blades, so I need someone to challenge.”

“I’ll make a deal with you Tyson,” Kai replied, making eye contact with the other bluenette. “Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, I’ll take you up on your offer, how does that sound to you?” Because his back was turned from the others who had dispersed from the dish to find other things to do, no one saw tiny smirk in the corner of Kai’s mouth when he spotted the change in Tyson’s eyes. The curtain to act two just closed, now act three was about to start.

Rim (screams): Gah, these chapters aren’t coming out like I want. Damn them all…I blame it on Akito. Well…I guess we can have the rest of the plan in the next chapter since this story is carrying out longer than I wanted. I guess it makes the story better. Well, hopefully…no promises made, I won’t take another whole month to update.
