Chapter 6
Goku had slept comfortably that night, wrapped in the arms of his mate. It’d been a long time since he’d gone an entire night without waking and the young Saiyajin couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment when he woke bright and early as the sun rose outside the cave.
Goku slowly moved to sit up, gently detangling himself from Vegeta’s embrace. The movement only caused the prince to frown and mumble something incoherent before he once again settled and continued his sleep. The orange clad Saiyajin stretched his sore muscles, grunting in satisfaction as bones popped and settled comfortably back into place.
Goku’s eyes scanned the cave as he slowly stood and nearly tip-toed around the other Saiyajins. He didn’t want to wake anyone; not yet anyway. He knew of a small lake nearby, and he had hoped to have a good, long, quiet soak; away from the prying eyes of the others.
Goku’s tail bristled as he encountered the last ‘road block’ before the cave’s exit.... Buroli. The large Saiyajin was sprawled out across the stone floor and his breathing was deep and steady; but Goku wasn’t so sure. His eyes carefully moved over the other’s still form as he crept closer. He knew it was ridiculous, but he felt as though the larger man was just waiting for him to come near enough before he grabbed him.
But that wasn’t the case. With all the grace of a large cat, Goku leapt over the slumbering Saiyajin and silently landed at the mouth of the cave. He spared one quick glance back before breathing a sigh of relief and jogging out into the steadily growing light of a new day.
--------------------------------------------------
Perfect.
This was what Buroli thought of the situation as he poked open one eye and watched Goku disappear over a hill. Once he was sure the other man was a good distance away, the large Saiyajin silently climbed to his feet and crept over to his first victim; Nappa.
A sinister smirk crawled across his lips as he knelt down beside the sleeping Saiyajin and delivered two quick taps to the neck; pressure points. It wasn’t a death blow, just insurance that the man wouldn’t be rising for another few hours.
Buroli quickly dashed between Turles and Radditz, repeating the same procedure on them as well before he turned his sights on his main prey.
Vegeta.
Vegeta, leader of their pack, Prince of the Saiyajins, mate to Kakarotto.
Buroli sneered down at the smaller Saiyajin in disgust. All of those titles should belong to him. He was the strongest, he was the most feared, and HE was the most dominant of any Saiyajin in existence. This was HIS pack. Vegeta’s role as Prince was over the moment Frieza destroyed their planet all those years ago, and it was time he acknowledged that fact.
Buroli’s sneer turned into another smirk as he knelt down in front of Vegeta, who was sleeping sitting upright with his back leaning against the cave wall.
He was... attractive to say the least. Certainly a prize worth fighting for. When he was leader of this pack, he would definitely claim the little prince as his own, along with Kakarotto, of course.
Buroli’s eyes shifted to the other Saiyajins for a moment. The others were worthy of his pack... But as far as mates... they weren’t as desirable as the prince and the third class.
Turles... He looked like a darker version of Kakarotto, but lacked the innocence and softness the Earth raised Saiyajin possessed.
Radditz... Older brother of Kakarotto, though he looked more like Vegeta as far as facial features were concerned. That certainly meant he was a looker, but that’s as far as his appeal went in Buroli’s eyes.
Nappa... Not much of a looker or a thinker. He was a good pack member for his strength and survival skills, but not much more.
Buroli turned his attention back to the Saiyajin in front of him, though this time, he found himself staring directly into two black orbs.
Vegeta’s lip curled into a snarl. “What the hell are you doing?!”
The larger Saiyajin grinned. “Just inspecting my property.”
The prince growled and tried to spring away, but it was too late. Buroli’s hands shot out and slammed into Vegeta’s shoulders, effectively pinning him between his larger body and the stone wall behind him.
“Bastard! How dare you even THINK of betraying me!”
The larger Saiyajin laughed as Vegeta ineffectively tried to struggle from his grasp. “Think? I’m past that stage, my ‘prince’. I’ve already set the plan into action.”
Buroli watched as the prince’s eyes darted to his ‘sleeping’ comrades. “Oh, don’t count on their help. I hit their snooze alarms.”
Again Vegeta attempted to struggle free, landing kicks and punches where ever he could, though it seemed to do him no good. The grip on his shoulders only tightened, making the stone pressed against his back crack from the pressure. All Vegeta could hear, however, was the increasing volume of the other Saiyajin’s laughter.
-----------------------------------------------------
Something wasn’t right. Something wasn’t right.
The same sentence kept repeating in Goku’s head as he darted through the woods, back toward the cave. He hadn’t even reached the lake when the overwhelming feeling of dread trickled down his spine. He instantly knew the feeling was coming from his mate, Vegeta.
Buroli.
Goku snarled as he leapt over a fallen tree and made the final dash toward the others. He knew the larger Saiyajin would try something... He just didn’t think it’d be so soon. He’d been stupid to leave Vegeta alone with him. So stupid! He could hardly even feel the ki of Nappa, Radditz, and Turles, which told him they were either unconscious, or making no attempt to help their prince in any way.
Another tingle ran down Goku’s spine, causing his tail to puff out.
The cave was just ahead.
---------------------------------------------------
“Fuck!” Buroli growled as he reared back, clutching his eye. Vegeta had managed to surprise him with a ki attack to the face, and now the prince was standing and ready for battle; fists clenched in front of him.
“No matter, it wouldn’t be any fun if you didn’t fight back.” Buroli’s smirk returned as he lowered his hand. The prince’s attack hadn’t actually made direct contact with his eye, but instead created a rather nasty gash right above his eyebrow. Blood tricked down his cheek, making him look insane again as he took a step toward the smaller man.
Vegeta uttered a string of curses under his breath as he just barely dodged the first series of punches that were thrown at him; though with the limited space he had inside the cave, his options became severely limited as he was forced to back himself into a corner in order to keep himself in once piece.
The prince’s heel touched something solid and he glanced at the wall behind him.
Mistake.
A second later a large fist imbedded itself into the wall beside his head, quickly drawing his attention back to his attacker. Vegeta couldn’t help but squeeze his eyes shut as another fist crushed the stone on the other side of his head. He once again found himself pinned.
“Why don’t you just give up? It’s obvious you’re no match for me. As long as you do as I say, I’ll make your life good. It’s only natural that the most capable and the strongest be the leader, isn’t it?” Buroli purred in the prince’s ear.
Vegeta growled and jerked his head away when he felt the larger man’s breath on his cheek. “You are no leader. You are a mistake and should still be rotting in Hell!”
An enraged snarl echoed off the stone walls that surrounded them, and a fist that Vegeta couldn’t even see crashed into his temple and sent him spiraling to the hard ground. The impact knocked the air from the prince’s lungs and he struggled to draw in a breath as Buroli’s body covered his own.
“I’ll show you.” Buroli snarled. “I’ll show you who the dominant Saiyajin in this pack is!”
Vegeta’s focus was slowly returning to him as the larger Saiyajin above him spoke and he couldn’t keep a gasp from escaping his throat as his shirt was torn down the middle, exposing his chest to the cool morning air, which was disrupted by the hot puffs of breath that hit his skin each time Buroli breathed.
And then, Buroli screamed. A pained scream.
Vegeta’s eyes widened as he looked up at the larger Saiyajin, quickly spotting the reason behind his pain.
Kakarotto.
Goku had jumped onto Buroli’s back and had buried his sharp teeth into the larger Saiyajin’s neck. His grip was savage and the look of pure rage in the younger man’s eyes was unmistakable.
Strong arms wound around Buroli’s broad neck and tightened as teeth sank in deeper, drawing blood that trickled down even broader shoulders.
Buroli snarled as one hand reached up to free his neck from Goku’s vice-like grip, while his other hand reached down in an attempt to loosen the legs that had wound around his waist. However, Goku’s growls and grip only increased, as he was determined to keep his death lock on the larger Saiyajin.
Vegeta quickly sprang to his feet and immediately launched himself forward, landing every kick, punch, and ki attack he could possibly use against his enemy without harming his mate. He made bruises, opened cuts, and created wounds; and just as things were beginning to look good, their advantage was torn away.
Buroli had had enough.
The large Saiyajin’s eyes flashed and fire burned within his dark orbs right before they bled teal. His purplish black hair seemed to erupt as it sprang upward with a surge of raw power and became a bright golden color.
Goku’s eyes widened just before his arms were torn from his enemy’s throat. His surroundings became nothing more than a blur before he felt the excruciating impact of his body against the rocky ground. When his vision returned, he was looking up at Buroli from an indention in the earth.
He grit his teeth and slowly rolled onto his side, gasping in pain as several bruised, possibly broken, ribs screamed at him to stop moving. Had one attack really done that much damage to him?
“Stay down. I’d hate to damage your body more than necessary.” Buroli growled.
Goku only responded with a growl of his own as he stumbled to his feet and quickly ascended to the level of a Super Saiyajin. A flash of golden light to his left told him Vegeta had done the same.
“Hn. Stubborn. Fine. We’ll do this the hard way.”
--------------------------------------------------------------
Three Super Saiyajins.
Two against one.
Vegeta and Goku versus Buroli.
The odds were in their favor, though Vegeta couldn’t shake the feeling that things would not end well for them.
The prince’s eyes shifted to Goku, who was standing to his right. He suddenly found himself unsure of his mate’s capabilities. When was the last time the younger man had actually fought a battle? When had he even trained last? After the events that took place in prior months, Vegeta realized that if this battle was lost, it would be his own fault.
He’d been the one who had taken away Goku’s ki and left him as weak as a common ningen; he’d frayed the other Saiyajin’s nerves by leaving him defenseless and open to an attack; and worst of all, he’d been the attacker.
Did it affect his mate’s battle skills? His confidence?
“Vegeta, move!”
Vegeta cursed as he once again focused on the present situation, and he jerked his body to the side just in time to avoid a fist to his face. However, the thin cut that appeared on his cheek made it clear that his full attention needed to be on Buroli.
A low chuckle from the burley Saiyajin made the prince snarl in irritation, and he wasted no more time in launching his own attack. Vegeta dug his foot into the stony ground and used the momentum to propel himself into the air. He extended his palms in front of him and formed a ball of ki between them, which he quickly threw at the larger man below him.
Buroli smiled wickedly as he watched and waited for the ball of energy; and just when Vegeta thought he’d made a direct hit, Buroli vanished, leaving an unconscious Radditz directly in the path of his attack.
There was a flash of orange just before the impact.
“Kakarotto!”
Silence filled the cave, aside from the tiny ‘clicks’ pebbles made as they rained down around them. Vegeta waited as the smoke and dust settled; his muscles tense as the outline of a figure finally began to emerge.
And there he was. Goku was crouched in front of his older brother, palms still extended from when he’d blocked his mate’s attack. The flesh on his hands was red and slightly charred; but otherwise he seemed fine.
Vegeta wasn’t sure if he should be relieved that the younger man was ok, or insulted that his attack wasn’t as powerful as he wanted it to be.
Goku’s lips curled into a grin, as he seemed to know exactly what his mate was thinking, but as suddenly as the amused expression appeared, it disappeared and morphed into the hardened expression of a warrior. Teal eyes darted over to Buroli as he stood and brushed his burning palms over the fabric of his shirt.
“That was cowardly, even for you.” Goku said, his voice low and deep. It was a tone he only used when he was deadly serious.
That same irritating smirk appeared on the larger Saiyajin’s face. “Would you like to take this outside then?”
Goku’s response was quite blunt as he disappeared from in front of Radditz and reappeared in mid-air, directly behind Buroli. He immediately delivered an unexpected roundhouse kick to the surprised man’s head, which in turn, threw his body from the cave and into the outside world.
Vegeta couldn’t help but chuckle. It seemed as if he’d underestimated his mate’s abilities. “After you, Kakarotto.”
----------------------------------------------------
“Shimatta!” Buroli growled low in his chest as he picked himself up off the ground and wiped the trickle of blood from his lip. He hadn’t expected that. He wasn't concerned about taking any major damage from either of his opponents, but he hated to be caught off guard.
Buroli straightened and glared straight ahead as he watched Vegeta and Goku follow him from the cave. A wave of lust coursed through his body as his eyes drank in the golden beauties. Yes, these two would definitely live only to pleasure him; his own personal playthings. He was practically salivating at the very idea.
The large Saiyajin dodged back and forth as a flurry of fists descended upon him, and though a couple attacks did hit their mark, the resulting injuries were no greater than a few bruises. He had been strong before he'd died, but now he felt unstoppable. There had been rumors that a Saiyajin's power increased dramatically if they were to die and resurrect, but the event was so rare, no one knew if there was any truth to the matter.
Indeed there was truth. He was living proof.
Buroli laughed as he launched a ball of sizzling ki at Goku. The smaller warrior quickly pulled back and teleported out of the path of the attack, immediately reappearing directly beside his enemy. He had already formed his own attack in his palm and he smashed it into Buroli's temple before the larger man could react, electing a scream of pain from the stunned Saiyajin.
Vegeta quickly followed up with an attack of his own, and he barraged the larger man with a series of small, but powerful, disks of ki. Each disk left a nasty gash on the skin it touched, and soon the previously unmarked Saiyajin was a bloody mess.
"ENOUGH!" Buroli roared and flared his ki around him, leveling trees for miles around and smashing boulders into rubble. Both the prince and his mate were forced to raise their arms to protect their eyes as debris flew all around them, and it took most their power just to keep themselves grounded. They didn't realize until it was too late that their enemy hadn't caused the destruction out of rage, but as a strategy to blind them just long enough to catch them off guard.
It had worked.
Buroli immediately shot forward and buried one massive hand in each Saiyajin's hair, who had gravitated together while shielding themselves. He snarled savagely as he shoved the two warriors to their hands and knees. His fingers tightened in their golden locks as he knelt before them, baring his teeth.
"I suggest you both get used to this position."
He laughed as Vegeta cursed his name and attempted to take a swing at him, but he quickly threw the prince off balance when he shoved his face to the ground.
"Ah ah, little prince. Watch that temper; it could get you hurt... or your bitch."
Both sets of eyes focused on Goku, who snarled in response to the comment. He reached up and struggled to untangle the larger man's fingers from his hair. Buroli became so distracted as he watched his fruitless attempts at escape that he failed to notice that Vegeta had created a small point of ki at the tip of his finger.
The prince carefully aimed the ki at the larger man's throat, and when he was sure he had a clear shot, he released the concentrated laser of energy. Buroli gasped when his eye caught the flash at the last possible second, and he released his grip on the two Saiyajins in order to throw his body to the side. The attack grazed his neck, drawing an impressive amount of blood, but missing the vital jugular point it had originally intended to hit.
The large Saiyajin snarled and he pounced upon Vegeta before the prince could roll away, pinning him.
"You are more trouble than you're worth! I should fucking kill you and be done with it!"
Vegeta's eyes widened in shock when he felt sharp teeth clamp down around his windpipe. The crazy bastard was actually going to tear his throat out!
"Stop!"
Though Buroli didn't remove his teeth, he did pause just as he prepared to bite down. His eyes moved to his left and his breath hitched at what he saw.
Vegeta coughed as his attacker released his throat and his lungs were finally able to draw in some much needed oxygen. He looked up at Buroli, who was still on top of him, and he followed the man's astonished gaze.
"Kakarotto?!"
There, crouched on the ground with his head lowered in a submissive gesture, was Goku. He'd unraveled his tail and raised it along his back, curling the tip just below his neck to emphasize its vulnerability.
Vegeta's mouth dropped open, though he was in too much shock to actually speak as Buroli stood and approached his mate.
"Do you submit, Kakarotto? Do you acknowledge me as your master and King?"
Goku's body visibly tensed at the word 'master', and he barely suppressed the growl in his throat. "I will, as long as you spare Vegeta's life."
The larger Saiyajin laughed. "I don't think you are in any type of position to bargain with me, but I will spare his life for now."
Vegeta snarled and sprang to his feet as Buroli yanked Goku upward and forcefully covered the smaller man's lips with his own. He rushed forward to pull his mate away, but he was taken by surprise when Buroli suddenly grabbed him around the neck and shoved him onto his back. He repeated the same process with Goku before straddling both Saiyajins. Buroli's tail lashed back and forth behind his massive form as he grinned down at his captives.
"Kisama! Let me go, bastard!" Vegeta spat as he thrashed violently beneath the weight of the larger Saiyajin. He clawed at the hand around his neck, leaving bloody trails upon the rough flesh. His struggles only proved to amuse Buroli, however.
A low laugh rumbled from the larger Saiyajin's chest as he moved his hands away from their necks and instead rested them on their chests. Buroli lowered himself over Vegeta until his lips crazed the spot where the prince's neck and shoulder met.
"Fuck! Don't you DARE mark me!"
Vegeta felt more than he saw the sinister smirk on the other's face before teeth sank into his flesh. The prince screamed in both rage and pain as Buroli lapped at the blood that flowed from the wound, and just as he was about to begin fighting once again, he felt a tail wrap around his thigh and squeeze gently. Though he was unable to see past Buroli, the prince knew it was his mate. The small gesture comforted him just enough to enable him to keep himself under control. To launch an attack now would be pointless and ineffective.
After what seemed like an eternity, Buroli lifted his lips from Vegeta's neck and shifted to Goku. The prince squeezed his eyes shut, refusing to watch his mate be claimed by another. This was exactly what he'd feared would happen; this was why he'd gone to such extreme measures to keep Kakarotto hidden away. Now it turns out his efforts to make things right had led to his worst nightmare becoming reality.
Vegeta growled when he heard Goku's muffled cry of pain, followed by the strong scent of fresh blood. Minutes slowly ticked by and finally the weight that had been holding him in place lifted. The prince's eyes snapped open and he quickly sat up. He cast his mate a quick glance before shifting his gaze to Buroli, who had stood and was now heading back to the cave.
"Come. The others should be waking soon."
Vegeta's lip curled back into a savage snarl as he took off after the larger Saiyajin, but before he could even close half the distance between them, he was tackled to the ground by a larger body.
"Don't be stupid, Vegeta!" Goku growled into his ear.
The prince hissed. "You submitted to him! Baka! You're a coward!"
Goku's grip on the smaller man tightened. "He was going to tear your throat out, you moron! What the fuck did you want me to do?! In case you hadn't noticed, we were getting our asses kicked and I doubt nicely asking him to stop would have worked!"
Vegeta's eye twitched in irritation. He knew his mate was right. He'd be dead right now if Kakarotto hadn't done what he did, but he'd rather be dead than forcefully serving Buroli for the rest of his life.
Goku sighed against the prince's neck before placing a small kiss just behind his ear. "I'll get him, Vegeta. I just need time; get him to let his guard down."
The older Saiyajin glanced at his mate from the corner of his eye just before Goku lifted away from him and stood up. He quickly followed suit and got to his feet, brushing off the dirt and grass that stuck to him.
"Are you two done playing, or should I make myself comfortable?"
Both Saiyajin's glared at Buroli as the larger man laughed and continued toward the cave. Goku's gaze shifted to Vegeta briefly before he slowly followed, and the prince grumbled lowly under his breath before he too trailed after them.
*TBC*
A/N - Sorry for the delay. It's been a rough couple of weeks and it's only gonna get worse before it gets better >.< Hope you enjoyed this chapter! I haven't written anything past this so far, but I have a couple ideas as to what's going to happen now that Buroli has claimed his title as leader of the pack. What do you all want to see?
