Chapter 69

Dragonball: Unforgotten

Chapter sixty-nine

You felt a little out of touch with reality as you moved towards the familiar dwelling. Before you got to the door it opened, allowing Broly to walk through. After the conversation with Gohan, somehow Broly didn’t seem that imposing. At least compared to the future that was seemingly coming at you too fast. Broly wanting a chance to help you create a new saiyan didn’t seem nearly as overwhelming as Gohan wanting to not only do that but keep you for life. From what you gathered he wanted the whole domestic experience seeing as how he’d talked about getting a job when he was done with college so you didn’t have to worry about money. Which was a nice thought but you didn’t want to be that reliant on anyone ever again.

“Stop,” Broly said in a serious tone.

You looked up at him, blinking. But you stopped as he commanded. Though you took that literally. Broly moved forward and stood in front of you with his imposing presence. One of his hands reached out and lifted your chin so that you were looking up. The sudden jerking motion kind of hurt but you weren’t going to make a big deal out of it.

“Stop worrying.”

Well...that made more sense than him just flat out telling you to stop moving.

“I can’t,” you answered truthfully.

“Yes, you can. You don’t have to worry about anything.”

“Yes I do,” you argued back but kept the heat out of your voice.

Broly withdrew his hand from your chin. But you didn’t turn your head back down. You figured if he raised it up then he wanted to see your face when you talked to him.

“You are more important than the others on this planet. You do not need to worry because of them,” he stated reasonable. “If the hurt you, if they cause you trouble, I will deal with them.”

And that was exactly one situation you were trying to avoid.

Goten sat excitedly in his seat. Though sat might be a kind word for it. He had mostly scooted off of the chair at this point even though his legs couldn’t touch the ground. Beside him, Trunks looked decidedly less enthusiastic. In fact, he seemed kind of angry.

“So you understand why I might need to stop playing as much right?” You prompted the six year old Goten.

“Uh huh. Because you’re growing a baby inside your tummy!” Goten said with a smile. “I’m going to be a big brother!”

Well at least two out of four Sons were happy about the situation. Gohan was still didn’t seem happy or upset by the news; at least not after he considered the fact that just because you were having Goku’s child didn’t mean you were going to be in a romantic relationship with him. Although if Goku and your poor abused heart had anything to say about it…

“Yeah, more or less,” you replied. “But the important part is that I’m going to need to use the dragonballs to make sure everyone stays safe. And that Gohan and I need to be the one to tell your mom...not you. You think you can remember that?”

“Uh huh!” Goten easily agreed.

You looked to Trunks. He seemed to be upset. But like a proud little boy it looked more like anger than anything. You frowned a little at that, worried about what was going through his head.

“Hey, Goten, I want you to go find me the prettiest flowers you can find. But remember, this time you can’t take the whole plant. And if it’s in someone else’s yard you have to ask before you can pick one.”

Goten sped away at the challenge. When he was out of range you sat down in his chair, looking towards Trunks.

“Alright, he’s gone. What’s wrong Trunks?”

“Nothing…”

“I can tickle it out of you or you can tell me.”

Trunks looked at you from the corner of his eyes. His little hands turned into fists. No doubt out of frustration.

“It’s not fair,” Trunks said quietly.

“What isn’t fair?” You prompted. There was a lot in the world that didn’t seem fair to you.

“You’re going to go stay with Gohan and Goten because their dad is coming back,” Trunks said as he clenched his fists tighter. “And he’s getting another sibling to play with. He’s going to have his dad, Gohan, you, and the new saiyan to play with. I just have dad and he doesn’t like to play. It’s not fair.”

“You’re right. It’s not fair,” you told him gently. “But I never said that I was going to stay at Gohan and Goten’s house. I’m not moving in with them.”

“But you’re having a baby,” Trunk said in a frustrated sort of confusion. “Girls go to live with the guys when they have a baby because they’re married and stuff.”

“Are your parents married?” You asked him. He shook his head no. “Girls don’t have to be married to have a baby. It’s just safer that way sometimes. Because of money, jobs, and houses. Stuff like that. But it’s not necessary. I don’t have to move in with them just because I’m pregnant. I’m staying in my apartment for as long as I can. Maybe a bigger one if I can afford it. I’ll need more space when she grows up a bit. But in no way does that mean that I’m moving in with Gohan and Goten.”

Gohan and Goten you could probably stand to live with. It might get Gohan killed by Goku at some point but that wasn’t the point. It was just that there was no way that you could live with Chichi. Not with what you had seen if her and known of her so far. You’d end up hurting her probably with the first week.

“Why don’t you move in here?” Trunks said with a bright, childish realization. “We have plenty of space! And money! I’ll tell mom to give you all of my allowance! That way you could stay with me and not have to worry about getting a job.”

You smiled at his enthusiasm and ruffled his hair. It was a sweet thought but you knew it was just the exuberance of youth. He had no idea how much trouble a baby was. Nor would you feel right taking that much charity from a woman you barely knew. You still felt bad that you hadn’t been able to pay her back for the capsule house she had given you and Goku to use. Which, of course, Broly was now using.

“Trunks, thanks for the offer but I want to try doing this by myself. I have to learn how to be a mom and I don’t think your dad would be happy with a screaming baby nearby.”

Vegeta didn’t seem the very patient type. Maybe dedicated but not patient. Which Trunks seemed to understand as his little face drew up into a concentrated thinking expression. Somehow you did not feel like that boded well for anyone.

“I’ll help take care of it. I can be like it’s big brother.”

You smiled gently at the thought. Trunks would probably make a great big brother. He was more level headed than Goten.

“You’re still a kid, Trunks, you shouldn’t have to worry about taking care of a baby or me. Don’t worry, I’ll still come and visit as much as I can. I won’t forget. You just enjoy being a child.”

You stared up in amazement as the sky turned black. A brilliant light shot out of the balls, nearly blinding you. There was an energy the likes of which you had never felt before. It felt raw and somehow different than anything else. It wasn't stronger than what you'd felt before, not by far, but it was enough to get you to notice it.

“Wow,” you breathed out as the light solidified.

Gohan watched with a smile. Your expression was filled with the same wonderment as the boys’. It was nice to see such a look of innocence on everyone’s faces. He reached out and put his hand on your shoulder to draw you out of your amazement. Soon after, the dragon’s voice boomed out asking you to make your wishes.

Wait…

Wishes? As in multiple?

You turned your attention to Gohan. “More than one?”

“Oh, uh, I guess I forgot to mention that when Dende remade the dragon that he was able to give it two wishes huh? Sorry, I forgot.”

As you tried to think of what your second wish would be, you spoke up with your first. “I wish that the saiyan known as Broly was able to control his own anger and temper.”

The dragon’s eyes lit up right before the long beast rumbled out: “Your wish has been granted. Speak your second wish.”

Before you had time to speak, Trunks raced forward and spoke out. “I wish that I was all grown up like Gohan!”

You watched with shock as the dragon’s eyes flowed once more. Trunks collapsed to the ground before being covered in a blinding ball of light. You quickly went to cover your eyes even as the dragon spoke out about how the wish had been granted. And something else had been spoken too. The only thing was that you were far too distracted to notice. Because as the dragon disappeared, so did the glow around Trunks. Your mouth fell open as you realized that Trunks had really gotten his wish. Laying unconscious on the ground was an adult-ish version of Trunks. He was hott as fuck.

And you realized that you were probably going to hell for that thought.
