Al's Return/Hughes's Idea

Disclaimer: Check previous chapters. I don’t know about Roy’s family, so I’m gonna make some shit up. I own Rush and Ramona Mustang. When Ed gives Roy a raspberry, that’s when you stick out your tongue and blow hard on it, making a noise. ***If you are new to FMA, don’t read any further, for there is a spoiler here. Watch atleast up to episode 14. Then resume reading.

Roy stared at the ceiling of his bedroom as Ed slept deeply in his arms. After finding out about the pregnancy, Roy insisted that Ed move in with him. A drafty, dusty dorm room was nowhere for his unborn children to be nurtured. He assured Ed that Al was welcome to come stay with them when he came back...which was tomorrow! Roy visibly jerked in the bed upon remembering that essential fact, causing Ed to stir. Ever since he found out about the babies, Ed had stopped asking where Al was and Roy had stopped counting the days he had left to spend with Ed. He knew Al would be pissed and probably accuse him of trying to steal his brother away from him. Roy sighed and buried his nose in Ed’s hair and squeezed him tighter. “Go to sleep, we’ve already made love twice tonight,” Ed mumbled, attempting to get comfortable. Roy always held him so tight when they slept, he could barely breathe. And Roy unfortunately wasn’t above waking Ed up for an early morning romp in the sheets. Roy chuckled and kissed Ed on the forehead and closed his eyes to get a few moments more rest.

Roy yawned as he and Ed pulled into his ‘RESERVED FOR ROY MUSTANG’ parking spot. They were late again, for numerous reasons. Ed wanted to make love yet again before work, they had to stop for cream filled chocolate doughnuts, they had to stop for orange juice to go with the doughnuts, and Roy was getting tired all over again. Ed seemed to have limitless energy, damn teenybopper. Roy was feeling all 32 years of his age as they walked into Central Headquarters side by side. Looking around to check if the coast was clear, Roy and Ed pecked a kiss on the lips as Ed headed off for the library and Roy headed upstairs to his office.

“Hello, Colonel,” Al greeted as Roy walked in his office. Roy turned pale and nearly fainted. Al wasn’t supposed to be home until tomorrow! Or was it today? Oh hell, he didn’t even know, but he sure wasn’t ready to face Al. “Um, hello, Alphonse. How was your trip?” Roy asked, still standing in the doorway gripping the doorknob. Al turned his head and looked at Mustang’s leather chair. “It was delightful. Aren’t you going to come in?” Al questioned, confused. He hated when people acted like they were scared of him and he was sure when he saw Mustang’s eyes that indeed the man looked very scared.

Roy seemed to slide against the wall until he reached his leather chair. Picking up his black phone he placed a call to the library. “Yes, is Major Elric there? Please direct him to report to Colonel Mustang’s office immediately. Thank you Librarian Sheska. I appreciate your cooperation.” Al seemed to relax a little. With the way Mustang had been acting, he would have thought something was wrong with Ed.

“How’s my little Roy Toy to-” Ed started as he opened the door and froze.

“BROTHER,” he screamed and jumped on Al. Before he could stop himself, Roy stood and shouted, “Be careful!” in a hasty voice. Looking down, Ed grabbed his stomach and rubbed it, and was reassured when he felt a series of small kicks. “I have to go pee,” he said after a series of kidney kicks proved to be too mugh for him and ran off. Al looked at Roy, confused. Roy gave a fake smile and an even more fake laugh. Al looked down at his hands which were now folded in his lap.

“Thanks for sending me to the spa. Li Chau says hello and sent me some extra coupons for you,” Al said cheerfully. He noticed that Roy wasn’t looking at him, but past him in the direction that Ed had ran off in.

“So how long have you and my brother been sleeping together?”

The powerful question hit Roy like a ton of bricks. Al could hear the man’s mouth as it hit the floor. He couldn’t even think of a lie quick enough to drop on Al and gave him the deer caught in the headlights look. He sighed and hung his head. “Almost immediately after you left. But never before,” he quickly added, hoping that Al wasn\'t mad at him. Al was one of the few people on Earth whose opinion he honestly cared about. Al nodded.

“A word to the wise, Roy. Always hang up your phone after a conversation ends.” Roy held up his hands and shrugged. He was unsure of what Al meant. “The first time you and brother kissed, I heard it on the phone. I was still talking but got no response. Then I heard brother’s voice and how you promised to never hurt either of us.” Al leaned menacingly towards Roy. “You haven’t hurt him, have you?” he asked in a hollow tone. Roy shook his head, unable to speak. All this time he spent worrying about what Al would say or think, and the metal bastard knew the whole time!!!

Roy sighed and looked down again. “No, I haven’t hurt him, but I’ve done something else to him.”

“That\'s right, brother. I’m carrying Roy’s twins. Possibly triplets,” Ed called from the doorway. He had been standing outside and was just as shocked as Roy was that Al knew the whole time what was going on. And that Al had been away at some spa or something. Al nodded and opened his arms. Ed rushed into them, crying. “I thought you’d be angry or ashamed,” Ed sobbed. He was so emotional, damn hormone pills. Al gently stroked his brother’s tears. “I missed you so much,” Ed whispered into Al’s cold metal shoulder. Al nodded. “Missed you too, bro.” he said in a soothing voice. Roy turned away, slightly jealous of being forgotten. Would he always have to compete with Al for Ed’s attention? And would the babies have to compete as well? Roy sighed, a dull pain forming in his heart from jealousy.

Ed looked over to see his lover pressed against the window, watching troops make formations and drill practices. Ed walked over to Roy and leaned into his back, stroking his neck with his human hand. Roy felt his knees weaken under Ed’s fingers and licked his lips. He wanted Ed, to bend him over and take him, but his brother was home, and they needed to spend time together. Roy took Ed’s hand and kissed the palm and then the back of his hand. “Go walk and talk with Al. I’ll wait for you,” he said smiling. Ed waved his forefinger in the air at Al, signaling for him to look away. Ed placed his hands on either side of Roy’s head and brought him down for a passionate kiss, his lips sucking pleasantly on Roy’s tongue. Roy attempted to choke Ed, pulling him closer and darting his tongue in and out of the boy’s mouth.

“Can I look now?” Al questioned, still looking straight at the wall. “Uhn-uh,” Ed moaned, as Roy dipped his mouth beneath Ed’s collar to taste the boy’s sweet neck. Ed pulled away from Roy, even as Mustang tried to hold him close. “Stop,” Ed said flirtatiously and giggled as Roy gave his ass yet another smack. Ed and Al walked out the door, with Ed sticking his head back in the door and giving Roy a raspberry before he and his brother left to walk Central’s grounds. He watched Ed and Al walk away until he heard a soft knock on his door.

“Come in,” he said, not even turning around. Hughes walked around to Roy and gave him a hug. Roy looked at him, surprised. “What was that for,” he asked, utterly confused. Hughes’ green eyes pierced Roy’s and he leaned and kissed him fully on the lips, with tongue and everything! Roy’s eyes widened as he shoved his friend away and wiped the kiss off with the back of his hand. Angrily, he put on his alchemy gloves and snapped his fingers.

“You tryin to get fried today?” Mustang threatened. Hughes smiled and shook his head. “I just wanted to see why you have an eighteen-year-old ‘hot for teacher,’ he sweetly said. Roy frowned and sat in his leather chair. “No really, Maes. Why did you kiss me?” he asked, wanting his friend to be serious. Hughes sighed and sat on the corner of the oak wood desk. “I\'ve wanted to kiss you for awhile. Just curiosity,” his friend reasoned, smiling the whole time. Roy nodded, unconvinced, but satisfied. “Just don\'t let that shit happen again. I’m with Ed, and very content. If he were to find out what you did, he would probably murder you in front of your family.” Hughes held up his hands and smiled. “No need for all of that. Besides, speaking of families, Rush called me. She and Ramona are on a train on their way here. You’re having houseguests,” Hughes sang. He slapped down a Chinese take out menu and smiled. “Bon apetite, asshole, you‘re paying,” he said and laughed loudly.

Mustang groaned loudly. On top of everything else that was going on; Al came back, then Maes slobbered all over him, and then his bitch ass sisters Ramona and Rush just HAD to show up now. Why now? Mustang put his head down and considered burning down the whole military base. Hughes continued singing as he danced with a picture of Elysia in his hand.

“So do you love him?” Al asked Ed as they stopped to sit at a bench under some trees. Ed smiled and nodded his head. “Underneath that rough exterior lies a passionate, sweet, caring man,” Ed spoke, unable to hide his growing affection for his Colonel. Al nodded. “Don\'t sell yourself short, brother. The same can be said for you too,” Al stated. Ed nodded. “I guess that’s why we clicked.” Al shrugged. “I guess. So have you picked a name for all the babies yet?” Ed shook his head. “We just found out a few days ago. Al, you should see Roy at home. He barely lets me walk around. He always tries to carry me, and I know my auto-mail is heavy but he carries me like I’m the baby. His house is awesome by the way, and you’re coming to live there!” Ed stopped to catch his breath. So much had happened since his brother was gone, and he wanted to fill him in on every (non-sexual) detail. Al laughed and patted Ed’s hand.

“So how did you become pregnant? And please skip the sexual part,” Al added, not wanting to hear about the Colonel getting sweaty nasty all over his brother. Ed smiled and told Al the complex story of him getting pregnant, the alchemists’ bond, Parker and Roy, and how he had to take hormone pills to better prepare his body to give birth.

“So does this mean you’ll grow boobies?” Al asked, shuddering. He and Ed wouldn’t be able to fight, not if he has boobies and babies in the way. Anytime Ed and Winry would spar, she’d always scream out that “Ed hurt her titties” and Aunt Pinako would come and beat Ed with a broom. No, this situation might not be good at all.

Ed playfully pushed Al. “Probably, but I always wondered what I’d look like with breasts. C’mon; it’s not that bad. You’ll be an uncle in about three months, and probably spoil the living crap out of my kids.” Al didn’t think of that. Standing to his full height with his hands on his hips and tassel blowing in the wind, Al posed and flexed, much the way Major Armstrong did after ripping off most of his clothes. “Alphonse Elrich, best uncle in the world!” he happily declared, bowing for the troops that gathered around and clapped at his show. Ed looked confused and then sighed. ‘Anything to make brother happy’ he thought.

Upstairs, Mustang was still holding his head down when Hughes stopped singing and looked at his friend. “Rush and Ramona are coming because I told them you were going to be a daddy and they want to meet the lovely mama to be.” The next thing Hughes knew, his uniform was on fire!

“Goddamnit, Roy!” Hughes screamed and preformed stop, drop, and roll. Roy felt no remorse for burning his friend. His sisters were doing fine out in the Great Desert, no need for them to come to Central. He stood over Hughes, smiling.

“That will teach you to stay out of grown folk’s business,” he coldly stated. Hughes stood, and brushed off his uniform. He smiled sweetly and faced the Colonel.

“So have you told Full Metal that you killed his best friend’s parents?” Hughes asked in an even tone. He knew it was a cheap shot, but he was sure now Roy was burning more than he was a few moments ago.

Roy felt like his heart had been impaled with ice. Maes KNEW that that was a touchy subject; anything having to do with Ishbal was a touchy subject. Roy turned and snapped his fingers again, igniting an angry red flame. “You are really working me over today, Maes. What the fuck is your problem?!” Roy shouted angrily. The last time he and Hughes really fought, Hughes had a few second and third degree burns on his back and Mustang had to have his pinky finger reattached. Fights between them were NOT friendly.

Hughes smiled and sat back down on the corner of the desk. “I feel like you and Edward should take the next step, and before doing so, you need to tell him about the Rockbell girl’s parents. I think it\'s a great idea and the honorable thing to do,” Hughes pointed out. Roy hung his head, knowing his friend was right. “Geez, you really love Edward. He’s turned you into a shit for brains,” Hughes muttered.

Then smiling widely, he opened his arms again. “A hug for the road?” he offered, really meaning it. Roy gave him a small smile and shook his head. Hughes nodded and pointed at the menu. “My and Riza’s orders are in there. Pick something for you and Ed and I’ll call it in.” With that, he closed the door and walked out. Roy sighed and looked at the menu, thinking of how to tell both Winry and Edward that he was the one that killed Dr. and Mrs. Rockbell.

“So what did he say,” Riza whispered as she and Hughes met in the cafeteria. Hughes looked around and whispered something that made Riza’s eyes bug out her head.

“Did he actually say he was going to propose?” she whispered, giddy from the news.

Hughes shook his head. “No, but Edward is pregnant. You know Roy’s not gonna let anyone else raise his children. He’s going to ask Edward to marry him, probably after the babies are born. I also called Ramona and Rush and told them everything. They‘re getting on a train as we speak.”

Riza smirked. “How do you know so much?”

Hughes looked at Riza and smiled sadly. “Because Roy is going to confess that he murdered Winry’s parents. Why else would he do that, unless he wants to build a life with Edward?”

Riza shook her head. This was a mighty big leap Roy was taking. He wasn’t one to put himself out there to be rejected. she cocked her head and looked at Hughes. “Is he going to tell the Rockbell girl the same thing?” Hughes nodded. “I’ll go with him to Risenmbool to talk to her. She remembers him, I know she does.” Hughes sighed and stood. “I’m going home to change uniforms. Our boy Roy got a lil excited when I kissed him and he torched me.”

Riza jumped up. “You kissed Roy?!” she almost shouted. It was a good thing the cafe was almost empty or else everyone would have known what he did. He glared at Riza and pulled her closer to him. “I had to make sure all he wanted was Ed. I’m his best friend, if he was gonna cheat it would be with me. That’s another reason why I know they’re going to get married.” he hissed.

Riza smiled widely at Hughes and hugged him gently. “Maes, you\'re so much more than what you let on to be.” Hughes smiled and walked away waving. “It’s called the element of surprise!” he called back, and then ran off to go home and play with his daughter.

Al hugged Ed again as they walked back to Roy’s office. He had missed his brother so, but was glad that he could find solace and acceptance in Roy’s arms. He noted for awhile how Roy would look at his brother, and vice versa. He supposed after the ‘I’m a guy, you’re a guy’ barrier was crossed, it was all good from there. He smiled to know that very soon he would have a niece and a nephew running around, disobeying his brother. The thought made him chuckle. “Did you say something, Al?” Ed asked, placing his hand on the bannister to go upstairs to Roy’s office. He used to be able to run up the stairs, taking three at a time but now he barely had the energy to walk. Al shook his head and followed closely behind his brother.

Roy heard Al coming up the stairs and wiped the tears from his eyes. There wasn’t a day that passed that he didn’t cry for the Rockbell’s; for all the people he was forced to kill in the Ishbal Massacre. He remembered being in that room with them, the scared but defiant looks on their faces, not sorry at all that they had been giving medical aide to the enemy. He remembered how shaky his hands were as he fired the bullets into them, then turning the gun on himself. He remembered the cold barrel of the gun underneath his chin, and how Dr. Marcoh called him a fool and told him to put the gun down. The Crystal Alchemist changed his life forever on that day. The day he first dared to disobey the military and hide Dr. Marcoh, and the philosopher’s stone instructions. He knew he had to face Winry Rockbell, to ask her forgiveness because if he didn’t, he would lose Edward and his children forever. The very thought wrenched his heart apart.

Edward and Al walked into Roy’s office, smelling of outside and fresh flowers. Roy smiled at his beloved and walked over to hug him. “Hughes ordered some food for us. I’m not eating though, I need to take a trip somewhere. I’ll be back as soon as I can.” He embraced Ed, tears running down his face. He quickly kissed Ed and walked away, practically jumping down the stairs.

Ed licked his lips and tasted the salty tears and became afraid for the first time in a long time. ‘Why was Roy crying and where was he going?’ his mind reeled. He walked to the window and saw Roy’s car speed off, kicking up dust in the process. Turning, he looked at Al. “We’re going to follow him,” Ed said in a low voice. Al shrugged. “How, brother? We don’t have a car.” Ed grinned, remembering the candy apple red convertible vintage mustang Roy kept in his garage. “I have transportation. Roy said I could use it only in times of emergency though. And this...this seems to be an emergency.” Ed concluded. Al shrugged again. Grand theft auto wasn’t on his to do list, but if there was something wrong with Roy, he wanted to be there beside Ed to help in any way possible. Al picked up the phone to call Riza to ask for a lift to the Colonel\'s house.

Roy pulled up outside of Hughes’ house and blew the horn. Maes came out a few moments later with a duffel bag and some cookies. He tossed the bag in the back and got in the shotgun seat.

“To Risembool?” he asked cheerfully, munching on a cookie.

Roy put one hand on the racing wheel and spun the tires. “To Risembool,” he said gruffly and snatched a cookie from Maes as they sped off, fire shooting out of the dual exhaust pipes. Roy’s eyes narrowed as he hauled ass towards Winry’s house, to his past and to his future.

>Roy is a murderer!!! Oh for shame! Poor Winry, what will she do when she finds out her best friend\'s lover killed her parents? Moreover, what will Edward do? Stay tuned! Angsty lemon coming up
