Chapter 7 Gokus resolution
Chapter 7 Goku’s resolution
Vegeta woke up hearing Raditz and Nappa’s laughing. He raised his head realizing he was sleeping in the common soldiers chamber. Once he raised his head, the laughter stopped. The duo tried to pretend they were busy and did not notice Vegeta’s existence. He felt over the bed and found his lover was not there, although his scent lingered around him. Hn, I wonder where Kakarotto is now. Remembering his not so gentle treatment to his lover last night, Vegeta felt some regret. It’s all Kakarotto’s fault. He is too enticing for his own good. He must be hiding somewhere sulking for having lost his virginity to his prince. Vegeta grinned at the thought he had been Kakarotto’s first. He waited until Raditz and Nappa left then got dressed and went to do some training, with happy on his mind.
Goku was in Sagi’s chamber again. When he had first entered the room Sagi pitched his nose and pushed him into the shower without saying a word. Now he was clean, sitting on a cushion, wearing only loose pants.
Sagi sighed, “You are not happy again?”
“Yes. I had sex with Vegeta.” Not happy was an easy way to put it. Confused, hurt and hurting were other feelings Goku had at the moment as well.
“I knew that, you stunk of him when you first came in.”
Goku leaned his head back against the wall. “I am a dead man now.”
“Why? It is common that warriors have sex on the ship. It is just natural.” Sagi dragged himself up on another cushion across form Goku. The situation looked as though it may take a while to talk the young Saiyan through – he might as well get comfortable.
“But Vegeta is a man!” Goku exclaimed – but even that wasn’t really the problem. Even if Vegeta had been a woman…
Sagi shook his head in disappointment he was going to have to explain something so obvious to his student and friend. “So? Do you see any women on the ship?”
Goku was stunned. “Ur, no.” Now that Sagi had pointed it out he hadn’t seen any women on this ship – or at least not women that he would have recognized as female, “But.. but..”
“You liked it, didn’t you?” Sagi had a difficult time keeping a knowledgeable grin off of his face.
Goku gasped. “How do you know?” he had still been deciding if he had hated it or liked it when he had arrived at Sagi’s rooms and then practically thrown into the shower. He had decided only moments before Sagi had come back into this room that the pain had been eclipsed by the things that had happened after.
“Oh, come on, I am the Sagi, the wiseman. Plus you are not hiding your reaction very well anyway.”
Goku groaned. “Chichi is going to kill me.”
“’Chichi is your mate?” Sagi asked to confirm – he remembered the name from a few of the conversations he’d had with the young Saiyan about his time on Earth. When Goku nodded his confirmation, Sagi continued, “I see. You have fallen in love with somebody else other than your mate.”
Goku buried his head deep in his arms and groaned. “I always thought I belonged to Chichi…….”
“No, you belong to no one but your own heart. Plus you might not be able to go back to Earth at all. What are you worrying about. ” If it were the last thing he was going to teach this young man it was that he needed to stop worrying about such trivial things. Life in Frieza’s service was plenty enough to worry about.
Goku remained quiet.
Sagi sighed. “Remember what I said yesterday? Don’t worry about something you cannot change. Let life work itself out.”
Goku thought for a while. “I see.” He started hesitantly and then paused before saying, “I agree.” He relaxed a little, yet it was obvious by the way he eyed the stars out the window that he was still deep in thought over the matter.
Sagi decided to distract him from the current situation. “Quit acting like a love sick puppy. Your know the ship’s Budoukai is next month.”
This worked wonders. Goku’s attention snapped back from his lovesick trance. His face lit up. “What? You have a Budoukai as well?”
“Actually its name is not Budoukai. I said that to get your attention. The name is Death Beat. It is held once every year, for Frieza to test his warriors’ strength for promotions. The rule is pretty much like Earth’s Budoukai except it is much bloodier. People kill their opponents all the time. And it is a rule the champion has to kill the second to claim his title. It is in one month time – you’d better start training now.”
“Wah! A good chance to fight all the great warriors! It is going to be so fun. It’s a good way to test the result of training with you, too.”
Sagi smiled. “Yes. You are my most outstanding student; I’d love to see the results. To enhance your ability in such a short period of time is amazing. I’ve also modified the training room you normally use so you can train under multifold gravity, environmental and temperature conditions. Do you want to test it out?”
“Yes!” Goku jumped up in excitment.
Vegeta was exhausted when he came back to the Saiyans’ quarters. He was worried about Kakarotto’s injuries, but the young Saiyan was nowhere to be found. He is probably in Sagi’s chamber again. It’s all right; he needs time to workout.
He entered the common soldiers’ bedroom, asking, “Where is Kakarotto?” hoping one of the others might know of the younger Saiyan’s whereabouts. Raditz pointed towards the inner door, which led to Vegeta’s bedroom. The Saiyans had two bedrooms and a common area. Vegeta, as the prince, had the privilege of one room to himself. Strange. He thought.
He entered his bedroom, and found the young Saiyan was busy—settling down. Vegeta’s mouth dropped open. He wants to live with me! He curbed his excitement and asked with assumed indifference, “What are you doing?”
“Ur, moving in. I thought you asked me to be your lover and stay with you forever, or something like that. ” Goku broke into a big grin.
“Really? I said that?” Must be last night’s rubbish talking then. Thinking about the night before, Vegeta blushed and felt his body turn warm.
“Do you always take others words by face value.”
Kakarotto paused. “You didn’t mean it then. Oh.” He looked rather disappointed.
Vegeta could not help smile. “Of course I meant it. Which side of dresser do you want?”
A huge grin broke out on Kakarotto’s face and then he came forward and put a peck on Vegeta’s cheek. “Thanks Vegeta!”
Vegeta had to hold the wall in order to not fall over. It was like sunshine broke out the cloud, dazzling his eyes. And the peck. The sudden happiness that swirled through him made him feel dizzy.
Wow. “You are welcome.”
Vegeta woke up hearing Raditz and Nappa’s laughing. He raised his head realizing he was sleeping in the common soldiers chamber. Once he raised his head, the laughter stopped.
