Long ago this land flourished. Green land and lively agriculture could be seen for miles and miles by the naked eye. Streams flowed and oceans roared with contentment. Animals of many different species and colors roamed the open land without fear of being hunted continuously as food for those of higher rank in the food chain. But the most amazing thing of all was the magic in the air. Magic so pure you could feel it all around and inside. During this time, sorcerers were not uncommon among the people. In fact, those gifted with the ability to use such powers were sought out and apprenticed by others like them.

Many magical items existed during this time. Jewelry and weapons were charmed with such things as protection spells. Staffs were crafted to help channel magic physically. However, the most magnificent magical object by far was the small but powerful orb known as the Gundanium Sphere. For, it was the Sphere itself which maintained the rich soils and quiet lakes of our precious planet. Indeed, nothing, no matter the size, could even come close to comparing to the powers the small orb possessed.

Unfortunately, not even the magical influence of the Sphere could sway the emotions of greed and envy which plagued the depths of the human heart. Along with the presence of such power existed those who yearned to control such power for themselves. For this reason, a magical council was formed for the soul purpose of protecting the orb. This council consisted of the nine most powerful sorcerers on the earth: J, G, Noventa, Lowe, H, S, Septem, Yuy, and O. The first order of business for the council was to relocate the Sphere to an undisclosed location which only they knew about. Next, they set about creating seven entities known as Guardian Forces to put an unpenetrable shield only breakable by extreme magical power around the object. Finally, they placed a dissuading spell around the perimeter that subconciously caused those who came near it to want to turn around and go back. After this, all seemed well, and looked as if it would be for decades to come. Of course, not even the most skilled fortune tellers in the land could have foretold the coming of the events which followed.

For none of the sorcerers would ever have thought that one of their own would end up being tempted by the Orb. Odin Lowe was the most powerful sorcerer of the council second only to Heero Yuy. Restless by his heritage, Lowe could not stand the fact that the pacifistic Yuy outranked him in skill. Once more, all other members of the council looked up to Yuy for advice and reassurance. This sickened him to no end. Finally he figured that if he had possession of the Sphere, then the others would have no choice but to look up to only him.

When the others of the council got wind of Odin\'s intentions, it was almost too late, yet they sprang into action. J, G, S, O, and H proceeded straight to the Gundanium Sphere and implimented \'Operation Meteor\'. They had hoped that it wouldn\'t have to come down to such a drastic measure, but they now knew that not even they were emmune to human flaw. The other three, Septem, Noventa, and Yuy, went to head off Lowe. Easily stronger then they, Lowe dispensed of Noventa and Septem without much difficulty. He had expected they would come after him to stop him, but what he hadn\'t expected was for Heero Yuy to step up and demand him to stop or else.

When Lowe refused, the greatest battle to ever ravage the planet ensued. It lasted for hours, each lashing out everything they had in an effort to defeat the other. The land was torn and the over use of magic brought imbalance to the planet\'s climate, causing storms to materialize and damage other areas of the surface untouched by the duel. Finally, desperate to defeat Lowe, Heero Yuy used the most powerful and deadly spell to his knowledge. This spell he had hoped not to use, because it came with a consequence to the user. Fully aware of the payment for using such a spell, Yuy chanted and let it loose. The spell instantly killed Lowe, but as payment, it took the life of Heero Yuy as well.

Meanwhile, the other five sorcerers had successfully comepleted \'Operation Meteor\'. The seven Gardian Forces were scattered by magic to different areas on the planet. Then they combined all there power into one effort and succeeded in separating the Gundanium Sphere into five parts. Each took one peice of the once powerful Orb and without saying where, left the scene of the battle for parts unknown. They have never been seen since.

Without the Sphere to balance life and magic, battles cropped up among the people and magic became a tool for destruction. No longer sustained by the Orb\'s powehe phe planet slowly began to die. Fifty years later magic was completely banned from the land, and all those who exhibited any hint of magic ability were executed on the spot.

Now, 500 years after that apocalyptic battle, our planet slowly continues to die. Where there were once oceans and streams, now lie dried creeks and lakes barely small enough to nurture a small town. People have flocked to areas where there are still some remnents of the old world. Most of the animals have been hunted to extinction. Those magic users who where able to excape execution have gone into exile. Finally, the land has shriveled up and most of the planet is now covered in desert. But no matter how much magic was abolished, the legend created on that day 500 years ago is still repeated in homes across the globe:

\'One day, the exuberant youth of our planet will ban together and save us all. They will sacrifice their current lifestyles to locate and reunite the five pieces of the Gundanium Sphere making our land rich with life once again.\'

.....That time has come.
