Chapter 1 The Mysterious Challenger
Angel and Devil
Summary: The Bladebreakers have a new member. But what does this mean for Kai and Rei\'s relationship? And what secrets does he have to hide? Yaoi in later chapters. KaixRei, possible KaixOC and/or ReixOC.

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Challenger
Rei stood on thlconlcony of his and Kai\'s room in the resort. The World Championships were just over, and Rei\'s injury was feeling much better. But what Rei was worrying about was not his injury, but rather the fate of the team. It was still unsure if the team would still stay together. If they split up, Tyson, Max and him would all return home, but Kai... Kai might go with Rei to China, but he was not sure if his village would accept their relationship. But he couldn\'t abandon Kai either. Voltaire would definitely come after him.
There was a chance that they would stay together and train for the next year\'s championships. But it really all depended on whether Mr. Dickenson would continue sponsoring them. Moreover, Tyson was already getting tired of all the attention. Sure, a bit of fame was fine, but even Tyson had a limit. And despite all his goofy antics, Tyson was a really good player, and a crucial member of the team. Everyone was. Without Tyson, the team would fall apart.
Rei sighed. All he could really do now was to savour what might be the last moments they had together.
Kai looked at Rei, standing on the balcony. He watched the wind catch Rei\'s hair and lift it gently. He heard Rei breathing calmly, enjoying the beautiful scenery. He heard Rei sigh, and in that sigh he felt Rei release whatever he was worrying about. Kai felt relaxed looking at Rei\'s beauty. When it came to Rei, every barrier, every wall he had built to guard himself crumbled into dust. With Rei, there were no secrets, only passion. With Rei, Kai was free. Kai watched as Rei winced from pain. The injury was yet to be fully healed. Kai decided to walk up.
Rei felt a warm presence beside him. Kai. Instantly, Rei lost all his worries, and his injury felt much better as well. Cold as he appeared, Kai hid infinite passion and emotion, which strained to be released. Rei was just happy he could free Kai from his prison. Rei looked into Kai\'s crimson, passionate eyes, as Kai looked into his cat-like amber ones. They spoke no words, yet both knew exactly what the other was thinking. Kai reached out and gently caressed Rei\'s raven hair. In Kai\'s hands, Rei\'s hair felt so soft, so silky. Rei closed his eyes and leaned in for a kiss. Their lips brushed against each other, softly at first. Rei then looked into Kai\'s eyes, silently asking for permission. In response, Kai leaned in for a more passionate kiss. Their tongues explored each other\'s mouths, and their saliva mixed into one. Kai flicked his tongue over Rei\'s luscious lips, and Rei did the same thing in return. In the cover of the night, their souls melted into one.
Reluctantly, Rei broke the kiss. But that moment of passion was enough for now. They held each other in their arms, savouring the intimacy. A leaf fell from a tree and got caught in Kai\'s hair, but Kai didn\'t seem to notice. Rei removed the leaf and threw it aside. He then gently caressed Kai\'s beautiful face, looking at those large, beautiful eyes, the chiselled nose, the warm lips, and the trademark blue fins...
A rustling in the bushes below broke the silence. Both their ears perked up at the sound. They walked over to the edge of the balcony and looked down, but nothing could be seen in the shadows below.
\"Who is that?\" Kai called out.
There was no reply.
\"I\'ll go down to check it out,\" Kai told Rei.
\"I\'ll follow you,\" Rei said to Kai\'s already retreating figure.
The moment they stepped out, they heard the bushes rustle again. Out of the corner of his eye Rei caught a glint of silver.
\"Show yourself,\" Rei called.
A figure clad in black stepped out from the bushes. He was dressed in a ninja suit. Only his eyes were visible. Rei stepped forward to confront the intruder.
\"Who are you? What are you doing here?\" questioned Rei.
\"Shut up. It is none of your business.\"
Rei took another step forward, but he was interrupted by the stranger.
\"Back off or I\'ll hurt you,\" said the black figure, revealing a silver beyblade in his hand.
\"So you want to fight?\" said Rei. \"I accept your challenge, but if you lose, you tell us who you are and what you are doing here.\"
\"If I win, the two of you leave me alone.\"
\"Fine,\" replied Kai. Rei took out his Driger. \"3, 2, 1, Let it rip!\"
two two players launched their beyblades at the same time. The silver beyblade hit Driger in midair, sending it flying back to Rei. It then spun on the ground for a while before flying back to its owner. Rei was stunned at the stranger\'s skill.
\"My turn now,\" said Kai. \"Ready, Let it rip!\"
The stranger d oud out the same tactic, but Dranzer evaded the move and hit the ground. The silver beyblade also touched the ground. Kai immediately summoned his Bit Beast.
\"Dranzer, Fire Arrows!\"
The red phoenix rose out of the beyblade and started to attack. However, the silver beyblade evaded so quickly that it seemed to only be a whir of light.
\"Dreamer! Go!\"
The stranger\'s Bit Beast revealed itself. It was in the form of a devil, and was about the same size as Dranzer. The two Bit Beasts started attacking each other.
\"Dreamer! Shadow Strike attack!\"
Suddenly, Dreamer seemed to vanish. Dranzer was confused. Dreamer appeared right behind Dranzer, but it was too late for Dranzer to respond. It was hit by Dreamer.
\"Kai! Watch out!\" shouted Rei. \"Dreamer hides in the darkness, and uses this to launch attacks!\"
\"Dreamer, finish him off!\"
Kai watched as Dreamer disappeared again.
\"Dranzer, incr fir fire intensity! Light up the area!\"
Dranzer did as it was commanded, and found Dreamer right in front of it. Dreamer was stunned by the sudden surge of light.
\"Dranzer, here\'ur cur chance!\"
Dranzer lunged at Dreamer with its beak, and Dreamer flew back into its owner\'s hands. The stranger quickly did a backflip into the bushes. Kai tried to chase after him, but he could already hear the footsteps of the intruder disappearing into the distance.
