Happy Easter
Here\'s a little story I wrote Easter day. Nothing really deep happens in it but I\'m thinking of writing a second part about what happens that day.

Happy Easter
Rei walked along the aisle of the convenience store looking at all the brightly covered Easter eggs.
Picking up a giant, gold covered bunny with a red ribbon around its neck he turned to Kai to get his opinion.
Kai was lagging behind the neko-jin glowering. Every now and again he’d let out a growl of dislike. As much as he liked even loved the raven haired teen, though he wouldn’t admit it to anyone, this was too much.
Rei sighed and shook his head.
“You are impossible,” Rei said putting the bunny in the shopping basket he was carrying.
“I didn’t want to come on this stupid shopping trip anyway. I don’t even see the point,” Kai grumbled stopping in front of Rei and looking at the brightly covered Easter eggs and cringing.
“I can’t believe you Kai. Easter is an important holiday that is celebrated by many cultures around the world and I will not stand here and let you whinge and whine about it,” Rei said stomping his foot.
“I damn well know why we celebrate Easter thank-you very much but I feel that going out and buying chocolate Easter eggs, especially for Max and Tyson, is brainless and foolish,” Kai growled out, “Whoever heard of a giant white imaginary bunny bringing chocolate eggs to people. It’s absurd. Mind you I wouldn’t say this around Max because he probably still believes in the Easter Bunny.”
“Kai that’s awful,” Rei said looking at the bluenette.
“I don’t care,” Kai muttered, “Can you hurry and get on with it so we can go back to the hotel.”
Rei took a step forward so he was face to face with Kai.
“Kai Hiwatari as captain of the Bladebreakers and their guardian, while not at home, it is your duty to make the rest of the team comfortable and happy and if that means buying them a few chocolate eggs then you’ll do it. No arguments,” Rei ground out then grabbing Kai’s hand he dragged the bluenette down the aisle.
Kai allowed himself to be pulled along slightly shocked by Rei’s actions.
When Rei stopped at another stack of Easter eggs, Kai pulled his hand from Rei’s grasp.
“Why are you so uptight over this anyway?” Kai said crossing his arms across his chest.
“Because it took me so damn long to organise your Easter present and there is no way in hell I’m going to let you ruin it,” Rei said picking up an egg in a blue wrapper.
“Y-y-you what?” Kai stammered looking at Rei.
Rei put the egg back on the shelf and started walking.
“I organised a present for you instead of getting you Easter eggs because I know you don’t go for that sort of thing,” Rei said over his shoulder to the following Kai, “And from your actions just now I’m damn glad I didn’t get you eggs.”
Kai put on some speed so he was beside Rei.
“Why?” Kai asked looking at Rei.
Rei looked at Kai out of the corner of his eye and said, “Why what?”
“Why did you organise a present. I mean you didn’t have to or anything,” Kai said.
“Cause I wanted to,” Rei said looking over the eggs he had in the basket.
Kai stopped walking. He looked around him at all the brightly coloured wrappers in egg shapes, bunny shapes and even baby chicken shapes.
Rei had stopped at the end of the aisle and was watching Kai.
“Come on Kai I still have to get Hot Cross Buns from the bakery section,” Rei called out.
Kai snapped out of his trance and walked towards Rei.
“I don’t want anything,” Kai stated firmly.
“Don’t care you\'re going to get it anyway,” Rei said and headed for the bakery.
“Do you enjoy arguing with me,” Kai growled out as they walked along.
“Yep it’s the highlight of my life,” Rei said sarcastically.
Kai turned a glare on Rei.
“The wind will change and your face will stay like that,” Rei said not even looking at the bluenette beside him.
Kai followed Rei to the bakery section where he watched the neko-jin buy two dozen hot cross buns.
Placing the bag of buns in the basket he turned to Kai.
“With Tyson’s appetite we’re going to need them,” Rei said.
They walked to the front of the store to pay for the items.
Kai watched as Rei placed each item on the counter.
“What did you get for yourself?” Kai asked.
“Nothing,” Rei said simply.
“Why?” Kai asked.
“What is with the questions today Kai?” Rei asked exasperated, turning to the bluenette.
Kai raised an eyebrow.
“That’ll be thirty dollars thank-you,” the cashier said breaking into their conversation.
Rei reached into his pocket to look for the money to pay for the stuff but Kai beat him to it pulling out some money of his own and handing it to the cashier.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Rei said.
Kai just grabbed the bags with the Easter eggs and buns in and headed for the doors.
“You are impossible,” Rei called out.
“You’ve already told me that,” Kai called back.
Rei ran to catch up to Kai who was already out of the store.
They walked down the main street looking at the children pulling their mothers or fathers to shop windows asking for chocolate eggs and fluffy toy bunnies.
Reaching the bus stop they sat on the seat and waited for the bus to arrive.
“Kai can I ask you something?” Rei asked.
“You just did,” Kai said sitting with his eyes closed.
“Smart ass,” Rei grumbled.
After a few moments of silence Kai opened his eyes to look at Rei.
“Have you ever gotten anything for Easter,” Rei asked now that he had Kai’s full attention.
Kai looked back up to the sky and said, “No.”
“Why?” Rei asked.
“Never wanted anything,” Kai said simply.
“Even as a small child?” Rei asked.
“Even then,” Kai said.
They sat in silence until the bus came and they climbed aboard showing the special passes that Mr. Dickensen had organised for them. This pass allowed them, free access to public transport.
When the bus pulled up out in front of their hotel. The two got off and headed in.
Going up to their hotel room Rei opened the door.
The hotel room was divided into three sections.
Two were bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms. One had three separate beds and one had a double bed. In between the two rooms was the kitchen, dining room and lounge room.
Kai and Rei shared the double bed while Kenny, Max and Tyson had their own single beds.
Kai put the eggs in the closet of their room pulling out the hot cross buns and putting them in the breadbox.
Rei went over to the balcony doors and opened them. He stepped out and leant over the rail.
In the pool below them he could see Max and Tyson mucking around and splashing each other while Kenny sat on the edge and watched.
“For once Kenny hasn’t got Dizzi,” Rei stated.
Kai came out onto the balcony and looked down.
“About time. That kid has some serious issues with that laptop of his,” Kai grumbled.
“It’s not that bad,” Rei said looking at Kai.
Kai just grunted and went back inside.
“How about we go down and join them,” Rei said walking inside and shutting the balcony doors.
“You can go,” Kai said sitting down in a kitchen chair.
“I will but not without you,” Rei said crossing his arms across his chest.
Kai looked at Rei and shook his head.
Rei stomped off to their shared room.
A little while later Rei came back out in crimson board shorts he threw a dark blue pair at Kai who caught them and looked at them.
“You went through my stuff,” Kai said looking up and glaring at Rei.
“Yes. Now get dressed unless you want to go swimming in that,” Rei said indicating his everyday clothes.
“I’m not going,” Kai said banging the shorts down on the kitchen table.
“Yes you are,” Rei said then he grinned at Kai and said, “And you want to know how I know you will.”
“Surprise me,” Kai grumbled out.
Rei held up a deep blue beyblade a flaming red phoenix adorning its center.
Kai’s eyes grew wide and he reached for the pocket he kept Dranzer in. Finding nothing in it looked at Rei.
“How?” Kai asked.
“Shouldn’t get to close to me next time,” Rei said grinning.
Kai stood up and launched himself at Rei.
“Give Dranzer back,” Kai yelled when he missed the neko-jin.
“Only if you come down to the swimming pool. You don’t even have to go in. I’m not. You can sunbake with me,” Rei said, “Please.”
Kai looked at Rei and growled.
Kai walked over to the kitchen table and grabbed his board shorts before stomping to his and Rei\'s bathroom and changing.
When he came out Rei threw Dranzer to him.
Kai caught it and walked back into the bedroom.
Rei followed and watched Kai put Dranzer in a wooden box with red velvet lining.
Kai turned around and saw Rei watching him.
“Let’s go then,” Kai said walking to the front door of the hotel room.
Rei grabbed the two towels on the bed and followed Kai.
They went down to the pool area and laid down on two of the sunbeds.
Rei lay on his stomach while Kai lay on his back.
“Hey Rei. Hey Kai,” Max called from the pool.
“Hey Max,” Rei said waving not bothering to sit up.
Kai just ignored him.
Kai heard wet footsteps heading his way so he opened his eyes.
Max kneeled down beside his chair and leaned in to whisper.
“Kai you’ve got to help,” Max whispered to the bluenette.
Kai just raised an eyebrow.
“We want you to throw Rei in the pool,” Max explained in a whisper.
Kai remembered something Rei had said earlier that day and smirked.
“Okay Max,” Kai said getting up.
Max ran back to the pool and jumped in.
Kai walked over to Rei and grabbed him around his waist.
Rei eeped and started to squirm.
“Kai what are you doing, put me down,” Rei yelled as he squirmed but Kai had too good a grip on him.
When Kai got to the edge of the pool he hefted Rei into it.
Rei made a big splash as he entered the water and came back up spluttering.
“Kai how could you, you know I hate water,” Rei whined.
“You said earlier that as captain I had to make the team happy. Max wanted me to throw you in the pool. Now he’s happy,” Kai said standing at the side of the pool.
Rei looked and saw that Max and Tyson were laughing hysterically and Kenny was trying not to giggle but failing miserably.
Rei pouted up at Kai.
Kai shook his head and extended his hand to help Rei out of the pool.
Rei took Kai’s hand braced his feet against the side of the pool and pulled.
Kai fell into the pool with a big splash.
When Kai resurfaced he found Rei trying to get of of the pool but was having so much trouble because he was laughing so much.
Kai reached out and grabbed Rei around his waist, pulling him away from the side.
“Kai please I want to get out,” Rei said trying to squirm out of the bluenette’s grasp.
Kai just pulled him further into the pool.
“Please Kai. I can’t swim properly,” Rei said gripping Kai for dear life.
“Well now is a good a time as any to learn,” Kai said, “I’ll teach you.”
Rei looked at Kai who looked back at Rei levelly.
Rei nodded but didn’t let go of Kai.
Kai taught Rei for the rest of the day.
~~~
“I can’t believe it’s Easter tomorrow,” Max said as he sat on the floor in the lounge.
“Yeah I can’t wait,” Tyson said excitedly.
“Well it is kind of late why don’t you guys go to bed,” Rei suggested yawning from his spot, curled up in the armchair.
Max yawned and Tyson nodded his agreement at the idea.
The two looked at Kenny to see that he was already asleep with his head resting on the kitchen table. Various beyblade parts scattered around him.
Kai stood up from where he had been seated on the couch and went over to Kenny.
Picking the small boy up Kai carried him to his bed.
Max and Tyson followed crawling into their own beds yawning.
Kai walked out turning out the lights and pulling the door shut behind him.
Kai looked up to see that Rei had fallen asleep in the chair.
Shaking his head he went and retrieved the Easter eggs as well as the baskets Rei had prepared for them.
Each wicker basket had thin plastic strip filling and ribbon with a small card that had each persons name on it.
Clearing the table of the beyblade parts Kai placed the three baskets on the table and pulled the eggs out of the plastic shopping bags.
After their swim Rei had told Kai what he’d got for each person.
Kai had just put the appropriate eggs in the named baskets when there was a knock on the door.
He immediately looked at Rei to see if it had awoken him but gave a sigh of relief when he saw that it hadn’t.
Kai walked over to the door and opened it.
A deliveryman stood there with a big paper bag in his hand.
Kai signed the clipboard he presented and paid the man what he owed.
The man handed over the bag and left.
Kai walked back in and shut the door locking it.
Kai walked back over to the table and reaching into the bag he pulled out a 16-inch high jade green, sitting bunny with brown velvet buttons for eyes. The pads of its feet and the centers of its ears were white and around its neck was a emerald green bow.
Picking up a pen Kenny had been using he wrote on the gift tag.
‘To Rei, the most caring person I know,
I love you Rei, Happy Easter,
Love Kai.’
Kai placed it on the table and put the pen back.
Then walking over to the chair he picked Rei up and took him into their bedroom. Stripping Rei down to his boxers he put Rei on the bed. Pulling up the blankets that were folded at the end of the bed he covered Rei then leaning down he placed a small kiss on the boy’s forehead.
Stripping down to his boxers himself he turned out all the lights and climbed into bed facing Rei.
Kai was just falling asleep when he felt Rei cuddle into his chest.
Kai placed his arms around Rei’s waist and put his chin on the top of Rei’s head.
Inhaling deeply Kai fell asleep.
~~~
Rei woke up the next morning to find himself securely wrapped in Kai’s arms.
Rei sighed and snuggled further into the bluenette’s embrace. Wishing he could stay there forever.
“CHOCOLATE,” Rei heard Max and Tyson yell out in the kitchen.
“Keep your voices down Kai and Rei are still asleep,” he heard Kenny scold.
Rei giggled softly untangling himself from Kai’s arms. Looking at the bluenette he leaned down and kissed his cheek.
Kai stirred snuggling into the pillow.
Rei got up and went over to the wardrobe he pulled out a big baggy red T-shirt and put it on.
Walking out of his room he saw Kenny, Max and Tyson on the lounge looking at their Easter eggs.
“Morning Rei,” Kenny said when he spotted the neko-jin.
“We didn’t wake you did we?” Max asked looking up worriedly.
“No but keep it down Kai is still sleeping,” Rei said.
“Speaking of Kai he got you an Easter present,” Tyson said as he unwrapped a small Easter egg and ate it.
“What,” Rei said looking at Tyson.
Tyson pointed over to the kitchen table.
Rei looked where Tyson pointed and saw the bunny.
Walking up to it he picked it up and read the tag.
Tears came to his eyes and he hugged the bunny tight.
“Excuse me guys,” Rei said walking back over to his bedroom door.
The three looked at each other and grinned knowingly since they had also read the tag.
Rei shut the bedroom door behind him and walked over to the bed.
Kai was laying on his back, one arm flung over his eyes and the other above his head.
Rei climbed up the bed and straddled Kai’s hips. Putting the bunny down beside him he removed the arm shielding Kai’s eyes and lent forward placing his lips on Kai’s.
Pulling back he watched as Kai’s eyes fluttered open.
Kai blinked a few times before he stopped and stared into Rei’s eyes, which were laced with tears of joy.
“I see you liked your present,” Kai said softly.
Rei lent forward and kissed Kai again.
Kai licked Rei’s bottom lip asking for entrance, which Rei gladly gave.
Kai explored every inch of Rei’s mouth reveling in the taste.
When Rei pulled away he sat back and punched Kai in the shoulder.
“Ow what was that for?” Kai asked rubbing his shoulder.
“I don’t know but I’m sure you deserved it,” Rei said.
Kai laughed and grabbed the front of Rei’s T-shirt pulling him down for another kiss.
“Are you two going to stay like that all day,” Tyson said from the doorway, “I’m hungry.”
Rei pulled away and looked at him.
Kai gave a low growl and if Rei hadn’t of placed a calming hand on Kai’s chest the bluenette probably would have killed Tyson.
“I’ll be there in a second Tyson,” Rei said.
Tyson nodded and left.
“I’m going to kill him,” Kai grumbled.
“Well you don’t have to worry about him,” Rei said, “As my Easter present to you I’ve gotten rid of Kenny, Max and Tyson for the day, starting from after breakfast, and you have me as your personal slave.”
“If festive holidays are always like this I think I’m going to celebrate every single one from now on,” Kai said pulling Rei into a passionate kiss.
“Breakfast isn’t going to cook itself you know,” Tyson yelled from the kitchen.
Kai pushed Rei off of him gently and stormed out to kill Tyson
“And I wouldn’t have life any other way,” Rei giggled as he heard Tyson scream and bolt through the hotel room.
