It hadn’t been a battle, not even a war. It had been a massacre.
They hadn’t stood a chance…
Now he was all that was left and he could barely feel his own body. Lying in a pool of blood, both his, his friend’s, family’s and foe’s blood, he knew that he deserved the pain and suffering he was going trough but he was scared.
He was a warrior, proud, strong and honourable but he was broken. He would not die with his head held high and with respect shining in the eyes of those watching him fall.
He would die alone and as a failure. He would die the way he had always feared he would and because of that he was terrified. Not wanting the death that was approaching him and he found himself fighting it.
He pushed himself to move, to get up and stand on his legs. He placed an arm on the ground to push himself up with when his right arm collapsed and he fell face first into the pool of blood and mud.
Help would come, he knew. They had called for it but they had all known that when it would arrive it would be too late. Far too late…
He forced himself up on his knees, the small motion having taken too much energy out of him but he would not give up. He would not die.
Slowly and painfully he managed to get up on his feet and by then many of his wounds had reopened. He didn’t care.
He forced himself to place one foot in front of the other and move along the fallen bodies that covered the ground.
He was proud to see that there were almost as many foes lying on the ground as his kind but that feeling disappeared as soon as he caught sight of the family he had grown up with.
Lying face down with a spear through her stomach lay his sister, her pink hair turned red with blood. At her feet lay Kevin. His upper body full with bullet holes and in his hand lay his precious dagger stained with blood. He had not fallen without a fight. He walked towards them and kneeled down to close their eyes, closing his own to keep the tears from falling.
He walked further down and had to bite his lip to keep himself from crying out.
Gary was laying on his back, his head lying some meters away from the body… and Rei. Rei, his brother in arms was on he ground on his side. He had several deep cuts in his abdomen that would have been enough to kill him but it had taken a bullet in between his eyes to stop the furious warrior that he was. His arms stretched out in front of him as if reaching for something. Reaching for his brother…
Lee collapsed on to his knees at his hands and took them in his own, pulling them towards himself and placed a kiss on each palm. He closed his eyes, tears falling out of them and screamed at the images that appeared in his mind.
He had seen his brother run towards him, seen him yelling at him to watch out and had seen the shock as a bullet hit him. The last word from his lips had been the cry of his name.
Lee cried silently as he crawled closer and gathered Rei in his arms. His body shook with sobs, the tears mixing with blood on his face as they ran down his cheeks.
They had taken his life, they had taken all from him and left him alive.
Lee placed his brother on the ground and closed his eyes. He got up on his feet with what seemed like new energy.
He had decided that he would give them all a proper funeral. All of his friends, his entire clan, the one he was supposed to protect, were going to be buried according to tradition. He wasn’t going to stop until all the 5000 of them were buried in the proper way.
The foes, the murderers he was going to burn. He wouldn’t allow their bodies to stain the ground of their home. The land of his people.
Lee started his work and three hours later he could hear several helicopters approach but he didn’t react to them. All that he could think of, all that he was aware of was his work.
He didn’t even stop when men, soldiers, dressed in black with their guns ready appeared from the forest. He didn’t react to the soldier approaching him and asking him his name and what had happened. He did however react very violently when one of the men moved to touch one of his people.
“Don’t touch them!!” he screamed and stormed towards them. Even only at the age of 17, Lee was a force to be reckoned with. A young man born to lead a strong and powerful people, a man with an army of his own.
The man immediately let go of the body and looked quite scared as the deadly wounded young man growled at him. His eyes turned into slits, fangs showing and blood on his face. Lee seemed to be taken directly out of a horror movie.
“Sir, we only wish to help.” The leader it seemed, said.
“Do not touch them. The ones dressed in black you can move, burn them even but do not touch my people.” Lee said.
“Sir, your wounds need to be looked at. That shoulder is badly broken and some of those cuts are bleeding at an alarming pase!” the man spoke.
“I will not leave until it is taken care of and I shall do it myself.” Lee hissed.
“Sir, the bone is sticking out from your elbow and you are to pale!!” the man screamed. He was horrified that Lee would not seek medical attention or even let them help.
“NO!” Lee roared and everyone stopped what they were doing to look in their direction, the closest of them frightened by the roar and the commander paralysed in shock and fear.
When he managed to compose himself he was stuttering. “I-I un-understand, we we’ll d-d-do as you w-wish.” he said and bowed his head.
Lee growled and went back to what he had been doing.
It took him three days without sleep and little food.
When Lee was done the soldiers all looked at him with respect and admiration as they had moved among the bodies and seen they state many of them had been. The men in black faring much worse then the neko-jins.
When Lee finally entered the medical helicopter the doctor was horrified as he had to peel Lee’s shirt off and the wounds started to bleed again. He was amazed that Lee was even alive let alone able to walk on his own as he found out that his left leg was cracked in several places.
“You should be dead.” the medic spoke to himself but Lee heard him although he chose not to acknowledge it.
He was letting the medic do his work and only listened with half an ear. A sting in his arm made him aware that the doctor had injected him with something and when he started to feel his eyelids dropped, he realised that it was a sedative.
Lee was glad for it knowing that he would rest in a dreamless state for he knew now that his dreams would only be filled with horrifying images of the evening three days ago.

Back in another country to the man that the White Tiger clan had called for help and elderly man sat in his chair with a pained and saddened expression on his face. He had just received news from the men he had sent.
“One survivor, a broken king.” Dickenson said to himself. He turned in his chair and faced the monitors in the wall behind him. Each of them showing a different blader but all of them with worried looks on their faces and some without any emotion at all.
“Only Lee has survived and according to the doctor it will take a miracle for him to survive the trip.”
At this several of them started to sob, some closed their eyes in anger and frustration and others hit the closest object they could reach.
