The Other Alchemist

Ed ran after the shadow that streaked across the roofs of Central. He stopped when he got to a crossroads, he looked around but couldn\'t see the shadow of the murderer he was chasing. Looking up at the sky he knew it was going to rain, there where dark clouds covering the moonless sky....the perfect time for a murderer to make his escape. He slowly closed his bright golden eyes and thought, what did the murderer want? But more importantly, where was he escaping too. He heard a scream that sounded like Al, looking straight ahead his eyes shone with fear for his younger brother.
\"I\'m coming Al! Don\'t worry!\"
He ran down the old cobblestone street not caring that he was starting to get wet as the rain came down in sheets. Along the way he tripped and fell face first into a soggy puddle, pushing himself up he realized somthing, to his horror he had fallen into a puddle of watered down blood. He stared at his hands and coat that where soaked through with the vile substance, he nearly fainted until he heard more yelling. Slowly getting to his feet he knew that it was Al that was in trouble, he didn\'t know how he new...he just...new.
\"Al! Don\'t worry i\'m coming to help you!\"
with the fear that his brother was in peril he quickly rid himself of the blood and streaked down the street.
When he finally got to the alleyway he found a few human bodies. He looked closer at them and nearly sighed in relief, none of them where dead...only beaten, bruised, and unconcious.
He looked up to see a flash as another man fell unconcious, the girl left standing smiled then fell forward onto the ground. Ed walked over aware of the danger if she was still awake, when he got closer he examined her clothes. They where all light blue except for the red patch near her abdomen...
\"Shit!\"
He looked around and found that most of the men had a weapon of some sort. By then it was raining rreally hard, as he turned around he heard the unmistakable clink of Al\'s metal body.
\"Hey Al, come help me with this!\"
He turned back to the girl, he rummaged around and found a strange stone on a necklace. He stared at it hard trying to remember where he had seen it before, when Al bent down and picked the girl up.
\"We should take her to the hospital!\"
Al seemed really concerned so all he did was nod and started to follow. He was about to pocket the trinket when the girl opened her eyes and mumbled something about her mothers necklace. Trying to calm her down he put it around her neck. She smiled and closed her eyes nestling against Al\'s metal body.

~The next day~

After taking the girl to the hospital they where informed that it wasn\'t a girl at all! It was a young boy the same age as Ed, the most ironic thing was he was the same hight as Ed as well. (Ed gets mad at the writer and smacks him over the head with a giant hammer...Ow!)
\"Al, I need to go talk to Colonol Mustang...would you do me a favour?\" He turned to Al and smiled brightly.
\"Of course big brother! what is it?\" He was curious to hear what his brother had in mind.
\"I want you to find out who this guy is for me k! Oh and, where did he get that strange purple-red stone he carries with him\" Al nodded.
\"Thanks Al..oh and be careful, I think he might be a little angry when he wakes up...\"
Al laughed as Ed started out the doors, heading to his confrontation with the Colonol.

--Yasu--

He couldn\'t move, his side hurt to much...He remembered being attacked, then fainting...then what?
All of a sudden the memories came back of a hot young guy that looked his age....and his hight. (Ow! Quit it Ed!) He remembered being held by the man in metal and the young golden haired boy giving him back his necklace...then total blackness. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around the small hospital room. He was terrified when he saw the needle on the table, he was a little dizzy. finally his headache passed and he saw the suit of armour sitting on the chair. He was surprised that the metal man was waiting for him, but was even more surprised to find that the metal man was snoring. He smiled and tried to get up. right away the pain siezed him and he cried out, the metal man seemed to come out of his sleep and was right at his side in moments.
\"Oh, you shouldn\'t move! You got hurt real bad and you might make it worse!\" The boy looked up and smiled lightly.
\"Thank you for worrying about me...My name is Yasu, what\'s yours?\" Al was taken aback when he heard the boy talk for the first time. He had a soft vioce that sounded almost girlish, if Al was still human he might have blushed.
\"I\'m Alphonse Elric, are you sure your okay?\" The boy just smiled and nodded.
\"Who was the cute boy with the gold hair?\" Al was surprised to hear that coming from the young boy in the hospital bed.
\"well, that was my big brother, Edward Elric....everyone calls him Ed and me Al for short though...\"
Again the boy nodded, he understood completely in fact he nearly laughed.
\"That\'s funy....my name is also short for somthing, my full name is Yasumi Daichin.
