A Night To Remember And A Hard Choice
Ed was sitting at his desk in central when he heard a knock at his door.
Ed: Enter
As he finished speaking Mako entered the office and gave a salute to his supirior.
Mako: Mako Hent reporting as ordered sir
Ed: At ease mako, have a seat
Mako drops his salute and takes a seat in the chair placed infront of the desk and ploped his feet on the edge of the desk. As he does Ed shoots mako a cold stare and mako takes his feet from the desk.
Mako: Ok Ok i get it, so whats up Ed?
Ed looked across the desk at the dark arts alchemist leaning on the back of his folded hands.
Ed: Mako i need you report on your investigation of lab 5 and the crimson shards.
Mako looks at Ed nervously and scratches the back of his head afraid of saying the wrong thing so as not to get Ed mad at him again.
Mako: Well sir i don't exactly have that report done yet.
Ed looks at mako with an iratated look on his face but calms down remembering how hard it was to fix his desk without using alchemy.
Ed: ok look i have to go downtown for some business and im leaving you in charge of the office in my leave.
Mako just looks at Ed with a devilish grin on his face.
Mako: does it have anything to do with Winry?
Ed:As a matter of fact it does
Mako: So when are you going to ask her Ed?
Ed: i was thinking of doing it over a private dinner when i go home but enough questions for now i have to go pick up the ring.
Mako: gotcha Ed ill watch the place while your gone but can you do me a favor and tell havok to quit smoking in the office? The smell is driving me nuts.
Ed laughs to himself and walks out into the bigger office where havok,fury and the others are and walks over to havoks desk,whispers something in his ear as both of them start laughing out loud.
Havok: Ok sir i will, just let me finish this paper work and ill get right on it.
Ed: ok.
Ed starts to walk to the door when Havok stops him
Havok: Ummm sir could you do me a favor and tell Major General Armstrong to tell his sister to stop calling me?
Ed: what and have to deal with "Emotional Armstrong". i dont think so, sorry your on your own Jean.
Twenty minutes later as Ed walks into the door of the jewelry store he walks up to the counter and the store clerk instantly recognizes him.
Store clerk: ah Mr.Elric i see your here to pick up the engagement ring you ordered?
Ed: yep i thought id pick it up while i was in the area.
Store clerk: well its a good thing cause its just been finished. wait here and ill go get it.
The store clerk walks into the back as Ed looks around the store wondering if he can find something else to get for the special night.
The clerk walks back out with a box and places it on the counter .
Store clerk: Here you go Mr.Elric. thank you for your business.
Ed takes the box and walks out of the store heading back to his office at central.
