Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I woke in a bed surrounded by flowers. I sat up, and held my head; realizing that I was still suffering from combat wounds, I looked around. The room was open and not that far outside were bushes of blue roses. I smiled, I remembered the first blue rose I was given. It was at my cousin’s wedding, and since I was the flower girl, they put a crown of blue s ins in my hair. She was very beautiful, and seeing her smile made the memories pour in, until I saw the massacre of my village again. Shutting the memories down, I heard my door open; I looked anxiously towards the cur. To. To my surprise, it was the blonde haired boy and Duo. I found out that the blonde haired boy was called Quatre, and the other boy was named Trowa. I wondered how he knew of the attack, and Duo explained that an Angel and two Gundams helped to save the people, but they could not save the school. “An angel was there fighting those suits?” Duo nodded enthusiastically, “What did it look like?” I asked, wondering why he mentioned it like an angel. “Well, it was completely black, except for its skin, which was milk white. Also, it only attacked the Leo suits that belonged to OZ, and helped the Gundams, who are working for peace,” he replied, “But by the way she was fl; I ; I think she was an Angel of Death…” I looked at him and smiled, “Well, at least she tried to save the school…” I looked towards the flowers and wished that I was able to finish my mission. Duo was somewhat nice, but he was also creepy. However, he was not as creepy as Heero; he just made my skin crawl because he was so quiet. In addition, I had the urge to tell them, but why, and how could I do that without knowing what they are first?
I had to stay at the mansion; at least until I recovered, and discovered that the girl that I had saved was named Relena. She had recovered from the smoke inhalation; however, my leg was still broken. After being there for several weeks, I hobbled around the place, trying to figure out all of the little things that could be useful encase of an attack. I passed by this one room and heard a duo of flute and violin. The harmony was splendid and it seemed that they had been practicing forever. I did not realize that I had been standing there long, when it finished and my leg began to act up again. I finally found a balcony with chairs, and rested my leg. I inspected where the break was, the swelling was down and the bruises were faintly visible. Just as I was about to take a nap, I heard yelling from down below. I peeked and saw another boy being dragged into the mansion by Quatre’s bodyguards. I got up and went downstairs, to see whom he was. He seemed quite upset and, from my perspective, he was over-reacting. He had black hair, and it was slicked back into a small ponytail. He had brown eyes, and looked very upset. When I entered the room, all five boys were there, Maybe I should have stayed upstairs… I thought. I looked around and Duo motioned me to take a seat, knowing that my leg needed as much rest as possible. I had a Body Surveillance Monitor (BSM) on my arm that informed me that my leg would be healed in a few days. To my ever-growing streak of bad luck, the newest boy took me as a hostage. “Why did I bother coming down in tirstirst place…” I muttered under my breath. I had the feeling that something like this would have happened, but I wanted to meet this new comer. His body was tense, knowing that if he messed up now, he would have hell to pay. “Children will never learn unless they are taught…” the quote from Col Treize rang through my mind. I shook my head and chuckled, the boy had placed himself for a perfect shoulder throw. By grabbing his wrist and rolling both of us, I managed to get him on the floor. My leg, however, did not like this trick, and as a result, I landed on top of him. “At least I got you off of me…” I muttered, as Duo helped me up and led me out of the room. “Where did you learn to do that? And what’s with the bright idea doing that with a broken leg?” He was scolding me like a child, but I now knew that the other boys were not going to help me. I explained what I could to Duo, and forced back the feeling to tell him everything.
They had the boy restrained, and I was left in my room. To my surprise, when I turned on my computer, there was a picture of a person. That was odd, since my background was drawing I had done a few years ago of a lake and an island. What surprised me even more was the sudden appearance of a text-messaging box that said, ‘It took forever, but I finally found you, my little Kat. I wonder what how much you forgot over the years we were apart.’ I shut down my computer and slammed it shut. She found me, I thought, I wonder if that new boy had anything to do with this. I remembered what Sarah told me once, “Even if you run away, I will find you again. Lucky for me, you might have forgotten me to.” Then she would laugh. She enjoyed watching me suffer; it was like a past time for her. She even poked fun of me in front of her friends, I always wanted to tell her off, but then her friends would join in, silencing me. She even spread rumours about me, in my own school. I always found out about them, but the worst was when she spread a true one. She told some boys in my class that I had been military property before I came to the school, and as a process, I was forgetting my past. When the rumour came to me, I felt so betrayed, but I knew that she eventually wanted to know what I would do in that case. I simply replied, “That’s what’s happening to her,” my eyes and tone were as cold as ice, “She tries to say it’s me, but she’s been loosing it for the past year now. She also likes tall tales, that’s why she tells so many rumours.” Later that day, I saw the boys laugh at her, and I r wer went back home. I snuck aboard a shuttle headed towards a colony by the Lunar Base, wanting to get away from all oe eve evil of Earth, but the moon was not far enough. I managed to find my real family and thus I was able to retrieve some lost memories. However, I found an old book in my sister’s house. It told of a tof aof an Angel of Death. I read it and found out that when the Angel is reborn, she will be filled with Vengeance, and only the God of Death could ever control such a rage. Nevertheless, to my surprise, The God of Death must prove to be the true one, as to stop the curse from coming upon the world, unless he sees fit to do so. I pulled the book out of my bag, and looked at the cover. The black edges and the silver bindings had such a contrast that the black looked even darker and the silver was even brighter.
I had just put the book away when there was a knock on my door. The five boys came in, but one was still restrained. I motioned them to sit on the bed, and I spun around. “Now tell her why you grabbed her, just like you told us.” Duo had an assertive voice, and it seemed angry for some reason. “She wants you back. Sarah knows you’re here and wants you back to make you pay for what you did to her before you ran away.” The boy said, in a calm, passive voice. “Really, she wants to make me pay for what I did to her.” I said this aloud, knowing that the other four were obviously confused. “You can tell Sarah when you see her that she deserved it for what she did to me. Also, you can tell her, if she wants to deal with me so bad, she can get off her ass ass and come over herself!” I ripped the transmitter off his shirt and crushed it with my shoe. “You guys should learn how to debug people.” Their expressions were eccentric. The one tied up even looked upset, knowing that his ploy was up. I looked at the five of them, and had a momentary flash backsaw saw a quick vision of a village, swamped by war, and there were six children in a circle. They were surrounding something that looked like what I turn into to attack OZ’s forces. It then began to glow and turned into six glowing balls. Each one of us got one, but the five that went to the boys went through their eyes, while on the girl it went to her heart. It happened fast, and I was only out of consciousness for a second, but that did not stop the restrained boy from trying to escape again. Howeveust ust as he went to out the door, there stood Sarah with a shit-eating grin on her face.
“Well, I guess you were in this room…” Sarah’s smile grew on her face and another head popped in from the side. Sarah had not changed. She was still 5’4 and had that aggressive attitude. Her dirty blond hair was still shoulder length, and her eyes were a pale blue, tempting me to talk back. The girl next to her was similar in height, but her dirty blond hair was waist length, and her eyes were a light green. Nevertheless, when I looked at her, I felt that she was in samesame situation that I once was, harassed by Sarah, and probably constantly watched. I glared at Sarah, and turned my head, not wanting to discuss anything with her. “Still like that huh?” She said, with a sarcastic twinge. Knowing that I did not like comments about me I answered back, “If I wanted to talk to you, I would have found you. Until then, bugger off!” I shot the last two words at her as if she was a convicted criminal. The expression on her face dropped and I knew she was not expecting that type of response. She stepped into the room and looked at the boy, “Thanks Wufei, I’m glad you helped me.” She took out a pin and undid the handcuffs. Trowa still held him back, and Duo prevented Sarah from coming any closer. “She’s not in the mood for company, as you can plainly see.” He told her bluntly, “So go away, and when she wants to talk, she’ll find you.” Sarah snickered and said, “Denise, I told you that she would have people with her. This one seems to think he can control what goes on around him, just like Kat used to think…” She chuckled, and I threw a sharp letter opener at her, hitting her in the shoulder. “Fuck off!” I said, “You’ve been told, now leave before I hit you in the head with a mallet.” I said the words so coldly that I even got shivers, and she looked like she was about to die of a heart attack. Within a heartbeat, she was walking towards the door with Wufei. However, before she left, she said, “I’ll be back, and I won’t be so nice.” I sighed and looked at the four boys around me and I thought they had to be told.
“You really need to work on how you greet people,” Duo told me after Heero, Quatre and Trowa left, “I know that you don’t like hert yot you should be careful around her.” I smiled and told him, “If only you knew what she can do, then you would be surprised that I didn’t kill her.” He shook his head and patted me on the shoulder, “Girls seem to carry the longest grudges, why?” He left the room with the question hanging in the air. I still did not want to see her with a broken leg, and by flipping Wufei over, I had another day to wait. I sent a message, when I turned my computer on, that I would meet her by the lake in 10 days, the time it would take my leg to heal fully. I was hoping to get a message back, but I never did. In those ten days, I learned quite a bit about the fours boys I was with, and Relena. Their pasts, as I thought mine to be, were filled with trauma and pain; but they were able to cope with it, making my case more confusing. I thought that Duo and Trowa had the worst pasts out of the five, and when I got a chance, I told them so. Trowa told me not to worryt Dut Duo replied, “I only wish we knew why you lost your memory, and how you came to get caught in this war.” I gave a weak smile and told him I had to go. I would tell them soon, but I had to talk to Sarah first. The ten days finally ended, and I waited for Sarah by the lake. However, when she came, I was not pleased, I was quite frightened, to tell the truth.
